  1. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 03:35 PM) I disagree. He just doesn't have that big curve anymore. Take the Kubel at bat, he gets two strikes on him and throws two changeups. In the past he would have dropped the curve and got him. Oh, so he cant throw it at all anymore? He lost it completely? Or maybe AJ didnt call for it. I saw Bobby throw it in spring training, do you think he left it on the plane?
  2. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 03:33 PM) A closer shouldn't be giving up a single and a double when his team has a one-run lead. Shouldnt EVER? You mean just because they hit him today it means everytime he's out there its going to happen? His stuff was good, he's fine. Pitch selection wasnt good, thats all. I swear, even with a win everyone has to b**** about something.
  3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 03:30 PM) Yup, I'll take the win. But I'm really concerned about Bobby right now. Why? He had two pretty easy outs, Hardy broke his bat and blooped a single, looked pretty good to me. Clearly bad pitch selection by AJ to Thome, but Jenks's stuff is all there.
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 08:33 PM) I think anyone who watched the Big Ten will say that McCamey is the best player and it's not much a discussion. The only ones who could be in any argument would be someone on Purdue. So ignore any actual statistical proof basically? You said no one in his league, clearly you werent accurate with that statement. If you think you were, please let us know what league McCamey is in.
  5. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 01:29 PM) If we're relying on Grodon to be a big time run producer this year we're screwed. LOLOLOLOL Please expand on this statement. Seriously, do it. I'd like to know where this thought would ever come from. Possibly a head injury?
  6. QUOTE (watchtower41 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 11:07 AM) We can go on a 20 game winning streak, it won't change the fact that this team is not ready to play baseball. It wont? If the team was 20-3 you wouldnt think they were playing baseball? Did you even read your post before hitting the button?
  7. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 07:48 AM) He's been deservedly ripped alot as a Hawk, but one guy who has really improved his game this season is Sopel. He's been downright serviceable of late, which has been big given the recent injuries on D. Yeah, he really has. There has been alot of improvement from some of the guys that we brought up as well. Buff at D has been very good.
  8. The funny thing is if we win the next 2 games, the same posters will be talking about how great they are.
  9. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 09:37 PM) So with the lead in the 7th no Thorton but tied in the 8th, Thorton wow I do not think Oz is really even putting any thought into this any more. No YOU havent put any thought into it. He doesnt want to use Thornton, he only has to because the initial guys failed and he was presented with a high leverage situation i.e: 1 out, man in scoring position. Come on.
  10. Just got home, how is it that the Twins continually get the gayest jam shot hits over and over and over.
  11. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 03:34 PM) OSU also doesn't return the best player in the Big Ten, or any near McCamey's caliber really.. That may be the difference between the two teams. Any near McCamey's caliber? McCamey's soph stats 11.5 pts 2.6 rebs 4.6 assists Junior 15.1 3.6 7.1 Willaim Buford soph 14.4 5.6 3.1 Junior? Most likely an improvement, especially taking away all of Turner's possessions. And the overall talent is much better at OSU, with Buford, Lighty and Diebler returning and the best recruiting class.
  12. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 05:03 PM) ZOMG! I didn't put an OSU player in the nba draft list. ZOMG! A fan has inflated expectations for his team. ZOMG! Resorting to that only proves the point, your opinion is about as valuable as "ZOMG". Zoom, one can only hope NU puts it together this year, I think they dont "surprise" teams this year, I think that they flat out run the table on some of the teams in the conference. They are a matchup nightmare. And I still think Wisconsin is up there for the B10, they have arguably one of the best coaches in the country and some real valuable pieces coming back. I dont view Bohannon as much of a loss, the kid disappears for long periods of time.
  13. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 04:40 PM) Can you read? I said he's not a "one and done" like Wall or Cousins. I never said he wasn't good enough to play in the NBA. I don't think he'll be a lottery pick after next year. This class just isn't that good. And yeah, my prediction is that Illinois will be a tourney team and will hopefully finish in the top 3. I also said it depends on the schedule. It'd be one thing if last years team just flat out sucked or played to its absolute potential. Neither was the case. They had great games and they had lots of s***ty games where they didn't show up. But they showed enough flashes of being a really good team last year to make me think they'll be much improved. Yes, I can read, and you didnt put the best HS player in the country in the same statement as similarly talented players. I think thats a joke, just like the rest of your opinion on the Big Ten. Putting Illinois above teams like Wisconsin and OSU is hilarious and is only wishful thinking at best.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 11:43 PM) Ahh, tackled B & B with the weights tonight...you're right, Rock, that is an entirely different animal. My forearms are just gone. Again, I want to point out how solid of a workout the bands give you...I firmly believe they made me more toned than strictly working with the weights would have done. But if my body works as it should, the weights will definitely make me gain more size. The hammer set gets deadly. I would like to point out that the 21's are an unreal start to those workouts.
  15. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 11:46 AM) (1) Neither recruit is a one and done caliber player ala Wall or Cousins. At best they'll be good component pieces to the starting five, but they won't be a focal point. (2) You're losing Turner, the national player of the year, the triple double machine, the guy that led your team the entire season. He's not replacable IMO (3) There's talent there, don't get me wrong, but you guys won a ton of games with the 3 ball as a result of Turner's ability to drive and dish. That component will be gone next year. Clearly I'm not saying they'll be awful. I expect them to contend next year for the conference and get a 1-5 seed. But I don't buy the top 5-10 hype. I think next year it's going to be a very similiar Big Ten. I'd rank them as follows: PUR MSU ILL OSU WIS MINN NW MICH IU PSU IOWA Purdue and MSU are going to be a step ahead of ILL/OSU/WIS who are all going to be about even. It obviously depends on which of the top 5 gets "lucky" with the schedule too. well, its official you are high. Sullinger is probably the best HS kid in the country, yet he's not an NBA type player? How many top recruits arent "that good" according to you. All of a sudden you think that ILL is going to go from a non-tourney team, and hop over THREE teams that made it this year. Classic Illanoy view on sports.
  16. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 05:21 PM) I'd have Peavy before Buehrle. Given Z's regression you're probably right to say that he should slot a bit lower. I'd place Floyd before Danks though. Danks led the Sox in ERA and quality starts last year.
  17. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 04:38 PM) The more I think about it too, i'm not sure I buy the argument that OSU will be better than Illinois next year, given that one team will return it's starting 5 while adding highly rated freshman, and the other loses the national player of the year and gains some highly rated freshman. I think Turner is going to be a huge loss to that team, more than people expect. A starting 5 returning doesnt mean much if the starting 5 isnt that good. OSU has 4 starters returning, 3 of which are some of the better players in the conference and are bringing in the #1 or 2 class depending on the recruiting service. This includes probably the best HS player in the country and another Mcd's AA.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 10:37 AM) Just do your best, man. Life happens. Ive been off as well because of work, now I am going to the Sox games and had zero time to workout. Feeling pretty s***ty about it really. I am prob going to try and do doubles to get myself back on track.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 10:16 PM) Knocked out CST tonight with the dumbbells for the first time. I actually think I like this particular workout with the bands better, just because i think it is easier to keep better form with the bands than with weights considering all the awkwards triceps work involved. Today was day 78. The awkward exercises will help you with the stabilizing muscles. It will work you out real nice in due time.

Ugh, my diet has been terrible and coupling that with my rest week and I feel like s***. I decided I am going to extend my system another 30 days after phase 3.
  21. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 01:39 PM) He'd be our 3rd starter slotting behind Buehrle/Peavy and in front of Floyd. Not a chance. Add almost a run to his ERA and then tell me where you slot him. If you had Buehrle as our #1 then: Buehrle Peavy Danks Zambrano Floyd
  22. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 04:53 PM) Heard he put a Sox cap on right before throwing the first pitch. Yup, pulled it out of his jacket, gave the Nats fans a big FU
