  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 03:27 PM) Wow, D-Backs currently up on the Cubs 13-1 in the 7th. Lilly was throwing beachballs. But Kudos to the Cubs fans who were pelting 3 guys in Canucks jerseys with peanuts and beer.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:26 PM) Iowa looks like they might have there strongest recruiting class in Ferentz history. It is early to say with only 2 commits on board but they seem to be high on a lot of pretty good recruits lists. We shall see. Another strong season would go a long way because winning helps! He's gotta keep up. OSU has 10 already including 5 4 stars and 1 5 star.
  3. OSU's 2011 FB class is looking stacked Jeff Heuerman had offers from more than a dozen Bowl Championship Series schools and narrowed his choices to Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Tennessee. The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder expected more offers to come, but after his trip to Columbus, he was sold on the Buckeyes.
  4. I should move to Houston, 58% cheaper housing, 32% overall. I could take over 60k decrease in salary.
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 02:20 PM) And I did a comparison on cost of living between Chicago and Portland. Your money goes further there and no sales tax. WOW, Portland is 14% cheaper, and housing is 24% cheaper.
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 02:04 PM) It's going to take a lot more than Gavin Floyd to get Fielder. You can forget that one. It begins and ends with JD1, in terms of any discussion. Trading one of the top 3-5 young lefties in the game, when he's a lot cheaper than Fielder....and once again, he's LEFT-HANDED and OUR ACE, for a DH/1B/LF bat making more or less TWICE what Danks makes (over the next two seasons) is insanity. KW would be crazy to do that. And there's a good possibility we have to chop $10-15 million from payroll, too. That could come in the form of shedding Jenks and AJ with Paulie signing to a $13 million, 2 year deal with a 3rd option year included...but then we still have to deal with other players (like Danks and Pierre) bumping up in salary too. There is a 0.0% chance that any team would have to or will give up a young Ace for Fielder. Maybe thats what they want, but they wont get it. Someone like Buehrle or Hudson + is alot closer to what they would get.
  7. QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 07:48 AM) Never gonna happen. Just Rogers filling up space. Wrap your fish in this junk. disagree, there is validity to a rumor like this. KW is actively shopping for a bat to energize this s*** offense.
  8. I was going to post this last night. Hudson or even someone like Buehrle makes sense for the Brew Crew.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 11:28 AM) For all you haters, I'd like to point out that we went 3-0 with Campbell back. Well there is only one real hater, and several dislikers.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 08:02 PM) You just eat too well, my friend... Its definitely the case. If I good stick to the diet on the weekends I would be in much better shape.

Holy s*** insanity is f***ing crazy
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 03:08 PM) That's kind of unfair. The guy was young, young, young. My guess is you won't want to watch many games of any rookie starting pitcher for the Sox, because the guy will have major growing pains. Richard showed some smarts in copying Buehrle's style. The only thing that makes him like Buehrle is working fast and being lefthanded. The guy isnt very young and isnt all that talented.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 02:39 PM) Did you get those Bowflex adjustable dumbbells? Do you like them? I've read some reviews where people say they are not as sturdy as they would like. Mine have been excellent, they couldnt be any better to be honest. I understand some people have had issues, but not me. It's really intensified all of the workouts.
  15. So baring a tie, the winner of the final game gets it? Totally downplaying the real idea of actually awarding a trophy. Congrats on a stupid idea.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 06:18 PM) I have been shooting for the 12-15 range in reps. I think I will try the heavier bands next time and just see how many I can do. By the end of some of the resistance workouts, I can barely do 8. I just downloaded one on one with Tony Horton and also the insanity series. Looking forward to adding this to my plan. As I said before, my muscle results have been very good, but I havent leaned down as much as I wanted to, so I am adding some more cardio to the mix.
  17. QUOTE (chisoxt @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 07:07 PM) Which is all the more reason why this was one of the silliest trades Kenny has ever made...If you go through the chronology of it, it gets even sillier: 1. In Mid May-Tries to trade for Peavy by offering SD a package of propspects including Clayton Richard 2. Peavy turns down trade within the ruights of his 'no-trade' contract; 3. June-Peavy hurts ankle goes on DL; 4. July- With Peavy on the DL, Kenny offers the same package of propsects to SD again for Peavy even though the guy is on the DL and it's two months later in the season!. Note that both Rick Hahn and Kenny had to twist Uncle Jerry's arm to sign off on the deal. 5. Peavy finally agrees to go the the Sox; 6. Mid-September-Peavy ends up finally getting off of the DL and pitches in a few games when the team is all but out of the race; 7. Since SD did not assume any money on Peavy's deal, the Sox are on the hook for three more years for $48 million with a fourth year buyout for $4 million; 8. Offseason-Kenny goes on the cheap to fill the reamining holes on the team in part, because of the Peavy deal and the committment to Alex Rios who was acquired at mid season, the Sox 2010 budget was maxed out; All of this for a guy who has not been right since 2007 and has had an injury rap sheet as long as my arm. I will take Clayton Richard back today. LOL
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 09:54 AM) Great analogy. *rolls eyes* I know, I wonder where the term consider the source ever came from. An Anti-Mac blog entry on a windows site probably is a bit biased dont you think?
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 08:52 AM) I guess making fun of the source makes none of it true. Depends if you believe the homeless guy telling you the world is ending.
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 10:44 AM) Apple's false sense of security... Oh no, not Tomshardware.com!!!!!
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 12:05 AM) And about 10 blown saves if his WHIP doesn't come down. Not when he's allowing multiple base-runners every time out. If. Pretty good statement. He will allow at least 1 runner per inning the entire season. This includes outings of zero runners and outings of 2 runners. Thats baseball.
  22. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 08:19 AM) I also wonder if Peavy still "doesn't want to be here". I still won't forget him turning down a trade to the White Sox. Yea Yea he changed his mind, but I still consider him a mercenary, a hired gun...maybe his heart isn't in it. I don't know, but the guy looks like AAA fodder at this point, from a guy who was supposedly one of the most dominant righties in baseball. What a crock...the guy is pitching worse than Carlos Silva. With the money he makes that's disgusting. I honestly couldnt find one nugget of reality in your post.
  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 08:05 AM) Sounds like (I didn't get to see the game) Peavy was trying some adjustments out. I suppose that's a good thing, and his increased velocity tells me its likely not an injury. But 7 walks? Yeah, that's a little scary from him or anyone. No command, whatsoever. His stuff is still there, just cannot locate anything.
