HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN THE STANLEY CUP!!
RockRaines replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
So glad to oust the Canucks. Aka, worlds most delirious fans. They are still under the impression: 1. The Hawks are the dirtiest team in the league. 2. The CAnucks werent beaten by a better team, they just choked 3. The Hawks are a slow, physical, grind it out team 4. Half of the Hawks were acquired in the first round because our management intentionally tanked for years to build a team. 5. The refs and Bettman wanted the Hawks to win so they intentionally made it so. I hope they understand that the rest of NHL fans think THEIR team is one of the dirtiest in the league. The Hawks have been one of the best teams all year and are top to bottom better than the Nucks. -
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 11, 2010 -> 02:24 PM) Jeter? I'd still lick her herpes.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 11, 2010 -> 02:21 PM) Sample size of 1 game. Well I didnt say he will never have the glove, just saying he looked like s*** for someone who is supposed to be MLB ready with that attribute. I havent seen thge lazy double in quite some time.

Too thin lips huh? Sounds like a fetish to me. And when did Alba get herpes?

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 10, 2010 -> 11:51 PM) I am still shocked he is up here, especially with limited abs in AA and not sniffing some AAA at 20 years old. But he has really impressed me with his discipline at the plate. He's got a chance for sure. Hell if we wind up trading guys (and of course keeping our core), I would love for trade Alexei + and get him (though I'm sure Hendry will hype his ass and ask for the ransom) to pair with Beckham. He is supposed to be all glove and some bat. His glove looked like s*** yesterday, couldnt even make an easy throw and gave up a double on straight laziness.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 10, 2010 -> 05:35 PM) Mycheal Henry from Chicago Orr to Illinois (class of 2011). Really good SF prospect. The depth in the 2011 class in Illinois is just ridiculous, Blackshear and Anthony Davis are likely top 20 players, and then you have Egwu and Randle who are very likely top 50 players and additionally you have Abrams, Sam Thompson, Henry, Boatright and Mike Shaw who are all top 100 players. And I am likely forgetting someone. I only see 1 in the top 50 and 2 in the top 100. Where are you getting your rankings? AH now I see you were talking about the state of Ill, not the school. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 10, 2010 -> 05:46 PM) You don't like the player who may be the best returning player in the league? I assume you are talking about McCamey? I disagree that he is the best player in the league. And I think he's a good player, but I dont think they crack the top 3 in the conference until he leaves. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 10, 2010 -> 05:20 PM) I think it will be hard for Illinois to pass Wisconsin in the Big 10. The biggest reason is that Wisconsin is almost automatic at the Kohl Center. If they go 8-1 there, that means that they generally only have to go .500 in away games to be in the upper part of the Big 10. Last year they were able to do pretty well and they lost their best player for a large part of conference play (Leur). Their biggest loss is going to be Bohannon who provided a lot of stability at the guard spot. I know that Hughes is the bigger name, but in my opinion he was both Wisconsin's best and worst player. In terms of shooting Wisconsin has allegedly added some sharp shooters in Dukan and Brust. They also will have Rob Wilson starting this year and he has looked really good offensively in his limited time the previous 2 years. I just dont see why Wisconsin, who beat MSU/Purdue/OSU will all of a sudden drop drastically. In fact they almost beat Purdue 2x last year (once without Leur). Its mainly going to depend on which of the top teams fair better against the other top teams. This year Illinois dropped 2 games against Purdue and OSU. They are going to need to at worst split with those teams. Well see what happens, but I think expecting a 4 seed (which is how this all started, that if Illinois doesnt get a 4 seed its a disappointment) is some what ambitious. Well, technically they dropped 3 games to OSU.... And I dont see ILL jumping Wisco either, I like Richmond and Richardson, but the rest of the team is meh to me. I dont see them being able to handle some of the better post players in the league, and I think their wing play will still be a step behind the top teams. -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 7, 2010 -> 08:52 AM) Anyone try Crust on Division? I've been meaning to go forever but have yet to make the trek. I heard it was alot like coalfire on grand which is awesome.

QUOTE (bmags @ May 7, 2010 -> 08:00 AM) and there's like, no good pizza places around here. I want to move as close as possible to peace pizza. Art of pizza on Ashland has dominant deep dish. As for other kinds, I live right by Salernos, Rosati's and Aurelios which satisfies almost every craving I could have.

QUOTE (G&T @ May 7, 2010 -> 07:19 AM) He wants them to stop his own guys from throwing Hawks into his face. I am very interested to see what the Canucks do tonight because Niemi's weakness, from what I have seen, is giving up long rebounds in front of the net. Crashing the net doesn't make a lot of sense, but they seem desperate. IMO, Niemi's weakness has been going down too soon and over committing to the shot. He has done a very good job lately or directly rebounds away from traffic and trying to stay in the crease when going side to side. -
QUOTE (T R U @ May 6, 2010 -> 09:14 PM) Drayton McLane was on the radio today and said that he has no intentions of dealing Berkman, and even with their slow start have no intentions of trading away their big name players.. obviously that could change, but I doubt it.. even when they have stunk in the first half in years past they have never really been one to trade away their big players.. He may say that, but I know they had conversations about him previously in the offseason. In fact I posted it several months ago.

QUOTE (bmags @ May 6, 2010 -> 09:23 PM) Word. I love all those neighborhoods mentioned. I'm tired of wrigleyville, only been here 2 months. Cubs games are awful. Excited to move for sure. I lived in LP for about a year and a half before it drove me out of there. Love the area, but parking, the EL, the s*** apts just drove me nuts. Made me so crazy I took all my money and bought my place in the west loop. Been here ever since.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 7, 2010 -> 12:37 AM) Only thing I love doing and like to see on that calender... the cardio/max recovery workout. By far the easiest though you are still stretching your ass off and STILL sweating. Day 11 completed. On to cardio and resistance tomorrow... ugh... (though I'm in better shape already... so... ) Cardio balance is ok, still burns the s*** out of your legs though. I love the feeling after the warmup when you go into some stretching and the sweat is pouring off of you already like you jumped out of the pool.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 6, 2010 -> 04:39 PM) Yeah... they are f***ed if they want up-tempo. All of their fans on their board are talking about how much faster they are and how they need to win with speed against the slow goonish Blackhawks. Apparently they know nothing about our roster. I even saw them calling Buff as slow as anyone on the ice. It's actually not even close to true, he's a very fast end to end guy, which is why he's dangerous. -
QUOTE (beckham15 @ May 5, 2010 -> 08:08 PM) Well I'm 22 years old. City/Suburbs doesn't matter to me as long as it's a decent neighborhood. If it would be in the city then definately on the northern part (easier to get to work) Still in the NAVY.... going to do 2 more years up there while my fiance finishes up college and then I'm going to start school after that. Price range would be anywhere between 1200 and 1500 a month. Thanks again to all that have replied so far. I appreciate it 22 year olds should start up north in the City and then you'll find a better place as you learn the city and grow up a bit. All the little neighborhoods that people will recommend (myself included, WEST LOOP!) are IMO more for people who already know what they want out of Chicago. I think EVERYONE needs to try Lakeview/LP at the beginning, especially at 22. Its a early 20's playground with cheap rent and right now an abundance of apts available.

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ May 6, 2010 -> 02:38 PM) Delusional people on their boards. It's insane some of the s*** they're calling for. http://forum.canucks.com/forum/24-canucks-talk/ They have a very small world. We really dont think about Canada as much as they think about our team. They are still under the impression the Hawks are big, slow and dirty. They want to get into an up tempo game with us, thats pretty much what we do well. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 5, 2010 -> 10:05 PM) Shoulders & Arms today....WOW, am I a wuss now after basically taking a few weeks off...and my weight has dropped to about 163 LBS, down from probably 187 or so when I began... B&B tore me up last night, really pulled something in my neck. Those strip sets killed me. Going to do some insanity today. I am enjoying switching back and forth so I get the same resistance, but more cardio.

RockRaines replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Canadian Hockey fans are always like that. Canucks fans think that the Hawks are a dirty team and that we take cheap shots after the whistle and in the crease. I think 99 percent of people outside of those fans can see what a dirty team Vancouver is. They dont play with a purpose, they just attack players and try to pull them into scraps. I thought the last goal the hawks had was questionable until I saw the replay of our guys pushing the puck while getting pushed into Luongo. I'm sure they will come out dirtier on friday and hopefully will get into the box early and often. They are a team full of complete douches. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 5, 2010 -> 10:21 AM) Exactly. The NBA is only a small step below the WWE now as far as I'm concerned between the Donaghy thing and just how blatant the officiating is favoring the home team and the superstars. I've lost a lot of my taste for that league in recent years. The refs are ridiculous. The Phantom fouls need to go away, the traveling is extinct. While the NHL playoffs get better, the NBA gets worse.
