  1. yikes pauly wasnt even close to a slider that was right over the heart of hte plate
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2008 -> 10:56 PM) Mercy, Giants with 3 just miss 'ems. Good job Gavin, now take a seat the rest of the night. I have no idea how he gave up no runs tonight. same way ryan dempster has been doing it...lol i love raggin on the NL
  3. QUOTE (G&T @ May 16, 2008 -> 10:52 PM) It's amazing because it's like the Sox are playing themselves. lol i thought the exact same thing...we have a better pen though...i think
  4. i hate listening to the giants announcers cuz i keep expecting ) Krukow to say "the pitcher said 'come and get it big boy!' but the batter could not connect"
  5. thats gone in almost every other park in the majors
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2008 -> 10:38 PM) I'd actually pull Gavin for a ph, but that's just me. actually a nice 2-1 swing from gavin...if i remember correctly in spring he actually handled the bat pretty well
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2008 -> 10:34 PM) Another reason why I wanted Sox to go after Hamilton. He's probably the cleanest player in the majors now. the fact though that HRs are down so much...i believe we need to adjust our expectations for pitchers as well....im not saying we need to rewind to 1985 when a 4 ERA was bad, but i for one am changing my expectations for pitchers a bit
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2008 -> 10:31 PM) With Swisher's jersey riding up his arm, it's amazing how tiny he seems compared to a few years ago. Nice rip by Ramirez at least. Tough inning coming up for Floyd. HRs are on pace to be down 1000 from two years ago...thats an unbelievable stat
  9. while we are talking about that rangers astros game....a 10-8 game is about what i expected when i saw that the pitching matchup was ponson vs. chacon
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2008 -> 09:52 PM) Hopefully we don't have to deal with that 8-9-1 in an inning ever again. its not like 5,6,7 have been anything good lately either...though crede has been ok offensively as of late...but some power would be nice
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2008 -> 09:45 PM) Josh Hamilton is absolutely amazing. 5-5, triple, 2 homers, 5 RBI i give you credit...you said it this offseason even before the rangers got him...we should have pursued him...and you were dead correct, i remember discussing that we might have had to give up danks for him...i wonder if that woulda gotten it done...either way fautino + gio probably would have, as you have said a few times the last week or so
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2008 -> 09:44 PM) Yet the Padres jumped all over Miguel Batista tonight. that offense is still laughable...and you know that as well as i do
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ May 16, 2008 -> 09:42 PM) The Giants maybe the one line up that I look at and do not fear any one batter. have you watched the cubs play the padres and pirates the last 5 games?
  14. both of these two guys were traded in deals with gio gonzalez....i feel like he needs to fly out to swisher
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2008 -> 09:34 PM) Any idea what type of hitter Gavin is? in my best ryan bukvich voice...."right handed"
  16. KW is at this game...is it typical for GMs to follow the team to road games?
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2008 -> 09:33 PM) Oh I'll never forget the Bonds/Colon showdown. iirc colon struck bonds out 3 times ...and we challenged him in his 4th AB and he hit it about 450 feet
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2008 -> 09:31 PM) Is this the first time Sox have ever played in San Fran? i was really trying to remember hte last time we played there...my brother thought we played there in 2000...but i dont remember
  19. i know alot of people like our uniforms but these giants unis are my favorite in all of sport
  20. mlbtv hasnt had a chicago broadcast in a while....and its getting annoying that said....jon miller rocks
  21. QUOTE (SouthsideNorthsideFan @ May 16, 2008 -> 03:17 PM) Mr. Cincinnati? Waddle's horrible. i love him...but i can agree to disagree
  22. you know you suck when the opposing team's announcer claims that the loss of ryan doumit is "big loss" to your lineup after 2005 my hatred for the cubs certainly cooled, but i would say it took til about now for me to rebuild it...i just hate that organization and their fans so much to the point i cant even stomach listening to mark silverman (which is a real shame because i think tom waddle is the best radio personality in this town by far)
  23. gorzelanny has thrown 5.2 IP against the cubs this year.....17 runs go back to marist you bum
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2008 -> 01:32 PM) Well, I don't hear Cubs fans b****ing about Soriano anymore. no kidding ...good god i cant believe how many people wanted reed johnson to play everyday..... this schedule they play is just comically bad
