  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 16, 2008 -> 10:08 AM) Seriously, that was the funniest parts of the whole episode. I was falling out of my chair laughing as some of those scenes. my gf thinks im a jerk, but good god i am so glad jim didnt end up proposing to pam...i was so happy..here i am thinking the office is going all "romantic" on me, and poof what happens....the hilarity of andy proposing to angela instead of jim to pam...props to the writers for choosing humor over romance....

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 15, 2008 -> 01:05 AM) I think everyone here can agree it would just be best if you refrained from posting. 7. isnt the vibrate function made for the exact same purpose? no lame vibrator jokes in replies to this post either
  8. trading konerko or thome before it is too late would require a flux capacitor, a delorean and 1.21 jigawatts
  9. Doug Laumann was in Nashville last weekend watching on a scouting visit....i presume he was Georgia vs. Vandy i read elsewhere though too that the white sox really liked wallace as well i saw gordon play probably 10 times...but mostly when he was a freshman...he could still hit back then but he was pretty short and scrawny....looks like he has bulked up (as evidenced by his 22 HR)....not sure i see him being a great player in the majors, and he seems like he would be the "safe" pick, this is a good draft to be picking 8th in....while its not a terrible deep draft, there is very little separation between the top guys...what i mean is that a guy like Justin Smoak could go anywhere from 2 to 10 IMO, so we have a shot at getting the guy we really like in this draft
  10. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ May 14, 2008 -> 06:04 AM) what's frustrating is if this team could click all at once, or at least 75% of the lineup could click at once, just hit like .265-.270, this team would be scary good, the pitching is just standing there losing game after game where they only give up 1-3 runs via the starting pitcher and almost none via the bullpen, what a disaster. right now, nobody is scared of the white sox, in fact i'd go as far to speculate that a lot more teams have figured out how to play against this team this season than any team ever has before unfortunately things like that just dont happen in baseball, for any team....its extremely rare to have guys all get hot at the same time....when it does happen special things happen like last year with the rockies or back a few years ago (02 maybe?) when oakland won 20 in a row.....the real b**** of this whole thing is that thome, konerko, swisher, OC and uribe have all yet to get hot at any point in this season.....
  11. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 14, 2008 -> 09:15 AM) I want to say first that I love listening to B&B, they really crack me up. But they also dont believe in anything that is unquantifiable(sp?). Bernstein rips on anyone who mentions anything to do with momentum, he just doesnt believe that there is such a force in sports. So when they make their arguments, they are mostly based on something that they can quantify, ie. the cubs will destroy the nationals because the nationals are 10 games under .500 and the Cubs are really good, the Cubs will destroy Livan Hernandez because he is a mediocre pitcher at this stage in his life and the Cubs feast on those types of pitchers. There are no such thing as big game pitchers or hitters that live for the big moments in their eyes, only a guy who was waiting for the right pitch at the right time. And it isnt something that someone can explain to them. Peope have tried and have been shot down summarily. Its just one of their quirks i am in complete disagreement with lol. i hate B&B (every thing they say, every caller, every guest doesnt have to be made into a joke...they are on sports talk radio, not a comedy central roast), but their objective and quantifiable opinions are absolutely a huge plus in my book (even if they dont work out on occasion) ....after all, the rest of the entire world relies on things that are quanitifiable and justifiable with logic and reason
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ May 14, 2008 -> 12:27 AM) I understand why Oz had Dotel start the inning, but after the chucking he did to get out of the 7th, wouldn't of minded Thornton coming in to start the 8th. against hunter? no way...if thornton gave up the hit to hunter we would all be torching ozzie right now...hindsight is 20/20, but i still think ozzie made the right call
  13. wow swisher...that may have been one of the worst throws ive ever seen
  14. Dotel has been really really good lately
  15. Dotel is in....he has a 2.92 and has one of the best K:IP in the majors...
  16. no appeal there??? certainly looked like he went on first glance
  17. how much of a stretch call did hawk give that one?
  18. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 13, 2008 -> 11:28 PM) in march, if you told me jon danks ERA would be 2.92, and Gavin Floyd 2.50 in the middle of May I would have laughed in your face whups i guess i was wrong about floyds era..baseball cube must not have had the stats from his last start up yet...his ERA is 3.32
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ May 13, 2008 -> 11:33 PM) Sox have had some meatballs this inning from Weaver, but they just can't get it done. weaver is at 101 pitches.....he might have 1 more in him...not that the angels pen is a walk in the park, but we have 1 hit off weaver so ill gladly take a change
  20. in march, if you told me jon danks ERA would be 2.92, and Gavin Floyd 2.50 in the middle of May I would have laughed in your face
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ May 13, 2008 -> 11:20 PM) Fun stat....Erstad would be second on this team in batting average at .296. cool...he can stay in houston
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ May 13, 2008 -> 09:59 PM) I think the camera angle is off though, as there's been quite a few pitches that seemed off the plate. Sox sure have had a lot of full counts tonight. i have angels broadcast...looked away to me
  23. QUOTE (G&T @ May 13, 2008 -> 09:57 PM) Quentin rung up on a 3-2 pitch 6 inches, at least, outside. yeah terrible call...first pitch was outside as well
