  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 01:43 PM) At this point in time, Gonzalez is better than Ramirez. Also, in terms of batting average, Erstad/Pods >>>> Swisher. haha i found one...but you may wanna shield your eyes... from july 29th 2007 vs. toronto owens cintron thome dye mackowiak uribe podesdnik hall richar
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 01:41 PM) 0-3 for the worst collection of 7/8/9 Sox hitters in organization history. im certain there was a lineup last year that had uribe andy gonzalez and either hall or molina....and what was worse was that erstad and maybe pods were in that lineup
  3. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 01:38 PM) lol uribe. .164/.222/.269......and dropping...wow...sub .500 ops
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 01:31 PM) With this lineup we have today, Sox best chance at doing damage is for Quentin and Crede to have a big game. with the exception of thomes mini hot streak earlier this week, its been like that for about 2 weeks
  5. worst thing abotu that is that uribe has to bat next inning now
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 01:26 PM) It took 24 minutes for our first Yaz comment tonight! that long huh
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 08:10 PM) this game should probably never have been started
  8. well if mark can average 6 pitches per inning like the first, than i think we can at least get 5 in lol
  9. QUOTE (max power @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 06:53 PM) This game isn't happening. yeah radar doesnt look too good
  10. QUOTE (Texsox @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 05:37 PM) I'm wondering, now that everyone has seen the list, how they would rank a top 5 from this list. I would have to go Blazing Saddles Planes, Trains, and Automobiles Animal House Tommy Boy It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World And my vote for best film not on the list: What About Bob? with an honorable mention to Fast Times i like all the love for PT&A, which was my choice for #1...Candy and Martin are both just brilliant
  11. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 12:06 AM) Sounds logical, therefore, it will never happen. I hereforth banish OC to the #2 spot for the remainder of the year! lol i dont mind OC at #2 ....mainly hes just struggling right now, and his ability to move the runner, hit behind the runner, hit and run just really dont seem to fit this teams needs right now, so i think we can get better production that fits our lineup at 2 with CQ
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 12:04 AM) I love the way the ball jumps off of Quentin's bat. exactly...this was such a steal....387 on base, .541 sluggin .928 OPS....and dont let the low BA fool anyone....his BABIP was just .220 a few days ago...and is likely to trend up toward .300 as the year goes on
  13. I know Ozzie likes cabrera as a #2 hitter. but lets be honest, the fact that swisher doesnt have speed basically negates what a prototypical #2 hitter should do (which i am totally fine with). What i mean is, how valuable is a prototypical #2 hitter, if we don't have a prototypical #1? I say we should leave Swisher at leadoff, let CQ bat 2, Crede 7 and Cabrera 8. I mean how many times this year have we been able to effectively use cabrera's "#2 hitter skills?" seems very sparingly to me. So why not get the guy with a higher obp in the 2 hole, who has some power to drive swisher in as well (since swisher is on base 40% of the time). If we have obp at #1, we may as well have high obp at #2 as well and hope the big boppers can hit some 3 R HRs...because theres no way around it..that is what we are, is a team who will win with the 3 R HR
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 11:46 PM) Fields in LF, Swisher in CF, Quentin in RF, Crede at 3B....in 2009? Why not? its not a terrible idea, but thats a huge if....odds are crede wont be back...but even if he is, where does dye go? DH? Traded? either he or thome would have to be dealt
  15. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 11:43 PM) wait, first career loss for Joba? very nice to witness history. he'll be great, we'll have this. must only be regular season...cuz didnt he lose the bug game?
  16. i see very little harm at putting him there for 1 month in AAA just to see if he can play an adequate 2b...if he cant he goes back to third....if he can i think the upside for this team could be pretty big, and is worth sacrificing 1 month of defensive development at 3b he played SS a few times last year for charlotte...and its not an unprecedented move, it has happened before for a 3b to move to 2b.....why not at least give it a shot at AAA to see what we may have?
  17. gavin didnt have a great game, but considering the rain delay...if that is floyds "bad" outings...he is gonna be pretty sucessful...even in giving up 5 in 6 innings, he gave us a chance to win...should never have pitched the 6th, but oh well
  18. QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 11:36 PM) instead of uribe at 2nd.... call up fields and put him there? flame on - flamers. ive been saying for weeks id like to see fields get a shot at 2b in AAA...dont think you can automatically put him there at the bigs...gotta see if he can be at least adequate there...but yeah i got flamed for saying it before too
  19. QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 11:32 PM) your right. it hasn't been up to par recently. really enjoyed this one though (at least the ryan, michael dwight part) cant keep b****ing about hte ump now hawk....that was strike 3 to quentin
  20. QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 11:29 PM) good call. excellent tonight btw. dwight priceless. it was the best of the newest episodes...but wasnt great i didnt think...
  21. not to b**** too much because each team passed him up at least once before he was drafted at #41, but we took kyle mcculloch 12 picks before Joba
  22. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 10:58 PM) Ah, Hawk and Blackhawk haven't said anything about it that I can recall. yeah they mentioned it last inning
  23. honestly...how often does a hit and run payoff? seems like very very infrequently
