QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 22, 2008 -> 08:57 PM) how bad is texas right now? yikes yeah they stink
-
wow wang missed bad with that breaking ball and hung it
-
QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 22, 2008 -> 08:53 PM) Speaking from a Sox fan's perspective, when have the Yanks been likable? when they play the red sox
-
QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Apr 22, 2008 -> 08:54 PM) countenance drops at the sound of "...with juan uribe strolling to the plate" lol....ive really been impressed by the way crede has been able to turn on the inside fastball so far this year...not sure why pitchers dont just pound him low and away with breaking balls
-
nice approach by CQ...gotta take your base hits against wang
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2008 -> 08:48 PM) Joba is just a tad bit better than Linebrink or Dotel. you think they should start him? i think i actually agree with hank that he should start...i mean, why take it cautious with Joba but not Hughes and Kennedy? Jobas got 3 well above average pitches ...
-
jose near 40 pitches...good thing our pen is rested

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2008 -> 07:07 PM) More terrible defense. Konerko needs better balance on these grounders. he pulled a roger dorn again...he needs to get his ass in front of the ball and quit "ole-ing" it to the side
-
QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 22, 2008 -> 07:03 PM) I know he had a very good outing last week, but I still cringe everytime Contreras takes the bump. especially with a patient team like the yankees...we are gonna have to get to wang...because contreras is gonna give up at least 3 i feel like
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2008 -> 07:02 PM) What, that stupid song? haha yeah...that was brutal...we need to go back to the 7:05 start time so comcast doesnt have to fill 6 min. worth of airtime with crap like that
-
comcast programming director needs to be fired ASAP
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2008 -> 02:41 PM) Wait, did the Mets make more defensive blunders today? with 2 outs in the fourth ted lilly hit a chopper to second base....delgado barely moved and instead of going to cover 1st base he just stopped and waited for the pitcher to cover who got there late....next AB brady clark watched a reed johnson bloop land 10 feet in front of him and played it on a bounce instead of charging and making the catch...at least i thought he easily coulda gotten to it
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2008 -> 03:32 PM) This Mets lineup is hideous. Half of them should be out of baseball. not only that...nelson figuroa? wow...this cubs team has scored more runs on defensive blunders than just about any other team i have ever seen....this mets team IMO is very overrated. I really think minaya has done a really poor job there. The cornerstones for that team in wright and reyes were there when he took over. He signed beltran to an overrated deal, signed delgado to a horrible deal, traded away bannister for nothing, signed pedro to a really bad deal. He did get santana, but that long of a deal is gonna turn out to be bad at some point i think.

QUOTE (Hanky Panky @ Apr 22, 2008 -> 02:21 PM) I think we have struggled against Wang in the past... correct? 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA against us in 3 starts...

QUOTE (Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 10:48 PM) What if some of his time was spent in the California Penal League I'm pretty sure Shirek was a draft eligible sophomore, even though he's now 22. He wasn't a 23rd round talent, much like Kevin Patterson wasn't a 24th round talent, or Jordan Danks a 19th(?). The Sox, as they (along with every other team in baseball) are known to do, used a number of their second day pick on guys who were first-day talents in an effort to entice a few of them to sign for far above slot. Shirek was the only one who signed (for 5th round money, 6 figure signing bonus). that must be from 07 right? if it was from 06 Joba was on that nebraska staff and i doubt shireks stuff is better than his

QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 08:58 PM) Chris Getz starting to put it together at Charlotte. 3 for 4 tonight. Has a 7 game hitting streak going raising his BA over .300 on the season. with the options we have at 2b i dont think he'll get a shot this year, but i wouldnt mind seeing him make a run at that 2b spot...he would fit into this team very well i think with his ability to command the strike zone

bunt out in front of home plate....longoria starts to come home...AJ grabs it and evan goes back...throws to pablo...pablo immediately throws it back without running at him at all....AJ gets it and nobody covers third as pablo follows longoria down the line (which you are only supposed to do if you run the runner back some)...pablo should have stayed to cover third but he didnt and longoria made it back easy....vazquez gets out iwth a DP though
