Yeah, I know.... :headshake Part of me is like that, too. f*** him/her/it if that's indeed the case. But another part of me is scared s***less (to say nothing of blood-curdling sadness that it was all for naught) that God is indeed vengeaful, shallow, vain, stupid, unpunctual, ruthless, impatient, apathetic and all the other patently human epithets that could be inferred from many Bible teachings/events, the Church rhetoric and of course the human experience itself.

    Gay marriages ...

OT: I am surprised the title of the thread isn't "Don Daley Promotes Gay Marriage To Children" BSI actualy had a thread titled "Mass. Supreme Court Orders Gay Marriage" Yep, that's exactly what they did.

  5. Wite, Remember when I told you that SSI wasn't an idiot and that such label should be saved for more deserving candidates? Do you understand now what I meant? It would AWESOME if Cubs implode this year. But I also realize they have the best team in the NL by a healthy margin and are probably gonna win the World Series. And people b**** about strike-outs all the time.....Guess what? If you slug the hell out of a ball and hit well with RO/RISP....I DON'T GIVE A s*** HOW MANY K's YOU ACCRUE. If I am Dusty, I don't care if Sammy K's 250 times a year if he also slugs to the tune of 750 and drives in 165 runs. Give me a 9-pitch strike-out battle OVER a first-pitch pop-up or, worse, a dreaded DP. But that's just me. And that A-Gone thing was every bit as freaky as SteveBartmangate. While Renteria won't the GG, it was obvious Alex S. Gonzalez was the BEST fielding SS in the NL. Nice try there, Izzy. You got an EXCELLENT motivational manager whom players not only love but RESPECT. He "gets it"-- he knows how to stay out of Bonds' way, he knows Sammy Sosa's soft spots, he can make Keny Lofton bust his ass, etc, etc, etc. And while he is a mediocre tactician, OVERALL he is still a legitimately GOOD manager. You don't take two different teams to a combined 10 outs away from the World Series in two consecutive years without being "good" at something. Giants and Cubs were NOT best teams in 2002 and 2003 and yet there they WERE...... You got: 1. Grudz/Walker (quality platoon) 2. Patterson 3. Lee 4. Sosa 5. Alou 6. Ramirez 7. Gonzo 8. Barret/Miller 9. Wood/Prior/Zambrano/Maddux-- very good hitting quartet SP standards. Prior Maddux Wood Zambrano Clement Borowski Hawkins Farnsworth Remlinger 1. Deceptively good offense. 2. Great rotation 3. Good BP Good manager. Translation: if healthy, that's a 100+ win squad.
  6. And if we give him 4/30 Mill contract he deserves based on 2003 campaign.....and he reverts to his old 4.60 ERA underachieving self, we be f***ED. I could see their point: how is it fair that Rivera put up his dominating numbers for almost 10 years straight while Gagne has been dominating only for only 2.....and yet they both get the same money? Hell, it was Gagne's FIRST year of arbit eligibility; he'll have MORE chances to get his payday later on. Nevermind "fair".....how KRAZY from the BUSINE$$ standpoint would you be to pay him 11 Mill based on ONE awesome season? Bobby Thigpen had that one dominant year....and was out of baseball in 2 years. From the hitter's side, Brady Anderson had a HOF year in 1996, easily as good as Griffey. Should he have asked and gotten Griffey money? Come on. Gagne got shafted, no doubt. But, I could certainly see what the conservative arbiters were thinking. Same with Santana. Same might happen with Dotel and Mota, and could have happened to Guardado and Hawkins theoretically.
  7. Jeter is one of the most overrated, overpaid players on the planet. He will do what's best for the team. Period.
  8. I don't know, but she looks like she might have a cute labia.
  9. I should add she was in one hellava underrated Lee Marvin flick, Point Blank.
  10. I think you may be right. Let's start a Roid Pool or Sox Roid Pool or something like that. Come on.

    Makes sense to me, no?
  12. What they have now makes little sense. A-Rod will move to SS, Jeter will move to 2B where he will be significantly better than A-Sore, and Yanks will try to re-acquire Ventura from Dodgers who by that should be out of 1st place. Or something similar. Soriano is an 850 OPS player with less room for improvement now that we know he is 28 and in the middle of his prime. A-Rod is a 1000 OPS player. A huge difference. A-Rod is also MUCH better defensively than Soriano is. Bigger name-- more tickets and concessions and merchandise sold;more games watched and listened to, including the Asian/CA markets. A-Rod + Jeter + Ventura-type > Jeter + Soriano + Boone.
  13. He diddled his nephew. And then wrote a book about it. Big mistake.
  14. You're preaching to the choir in this case. I said if any reliever deserves 8 Mill it would be Gagne. However, there MUST be a reason he LOST. Stars do not lose often. If Gagne could lose and if Santana can only get 1.60 Mill....then the panel HAD to have been considering their ENTIRE career.
  15. Maybe you're right. BUT....it would be crazy to deny how deceptively explosive Cubs offense can be if things go right for them health-wise. Sosa along can get on a roll and smack 55/135 rbi homers with his eyes closed. Patterson's ACL has little do with his slugging and still won't effect his speed THAT much the way modern medicine is. Ramirez and Alou came through every time their team needed them. Lee is a 900 OPS player with Wriggley's 365-feet gaps and summer wind streams. Grudz can hit LHP and Walker can sure as hell hit RHP. Good platoon 2B combo. One thing A-Gone can do is hit mistakes, especially fastball mistakes. Put him in front of Patterson, Lee, Sosa, Alou and Ramirez full season and he'll out slug Vazxquez by a healthy margin. Understimating Cubs offense is something opponents cannot do.

Jews think they are better than everyone else. Israel says that a dead Jew is worth 400 Palestinian criminals. Such chutzpah! They think they are so precious and God-chosen that they should be controlling all the banks and make all the movies. They use their natural advantages to dominate the sport of boxing. And when they get mad, Rob Lowe, er, Reb Loew unleashes his mud warriors on y'all's asses. It's just not fair. **cues Jaws theme, with an E replacing an A....as a plainfully familiar black hat is creeping up to an unsuspecting goy standing in the flea market crowd....TA-DUM, TA-DUM**

Jews are blood-thirsty and power-hungry. They make matzot out of Christian babies' blood. Of course they killed Jesus. Everyone knows that.
  20. They HAD to weigh in his ENTIRE career. Mota will have the same problem, then. Stud pitcher in 2003, but very mediocre career-wise. And he doesn't have Cy Young to wave in front of their faces, either. Another first-timer Santana got awarded 1.6 Million-- if not based on his whole career oeurve, then on what? 2002-2003? No way, he would have gotten at least 3-4 Mill if that were the case.
  21. Good job. This pretty much what I was expecting, save for their actual STATISTICAL criteria, which I guess they do not disclose. Players are always advised to get tougher skin because during the hearing, they are liable to hear some REAL TWISTED s*** about themselves. Think divorce/custody courts, but with less histrionics. 24yo Mark Burhle was 1-st year eligible. The club lost consistently during his SP tenure. Attendance- low. Ledership- little if any. Was only making 450K in 2003. Market was sorta depressed this off-season. How in the world did he not go through arbitration and instead got 18 Mill? :headshake
