But by no means should you feel sorry for the likes of Gucinsky (former billionaire and owner of the awesome NTV -- a politically dissenting private tv channel which was HBO+, ESPN and CNN rolled into one before Troll came to power and litigated the s*** out of it) and especially Abramovich, Chodorchovski, Berezo, etc -- these oligarchs and barons used Privatization of industries and property, employed every every legal and illegal (I am not even gonna mention immoral) trick in every book during economically and politically volatile times to take control of their incredible, LIQUID holdings/wealth. They ruin many lives one way or another and kill anyone (politicians, law enforcement, etc) who truly threaten them..........And at the same time, they look like your John Kerrys and John Edwards - extremely smart and articulate and even charming people who you wouldn't don't look like your text-book sinister mustache-twisters. People who jerk over Michael Douglas's Greed Is Good speech are lucky they never crossed paths with unchecked capitalism as personified by these smooth operators. I thought the biggest 5-day (if it opens on a Wed) gross was 114 Mill for Spiderdork back in 2002. Maybe I am wrong and one of the LOTR beat it. Titanic still holds the record for almost 600 Mill in the overall NA BO. So 80 Mill in the first 5 days is a safe bet you think?

He had ample opportunity to flee like his fellow billionaire Berezo (one who took Channel 6 away from Ted Turner by basically threatening to blow his and Jane's brains out in the mid-90s) or another one Abramovich who just bought English soccer franchise in Chelsea for 300+ Mill......but was naive and arrogant enough to think that Western democracies would cry foul and protect him and continued to oppose the Troll.

It's funny, but Joe Torre and a few others took it like men. Dusty thinks he is smarter than everyone else. I would say. Saving 12 out 14 is a wholalot easier than saving 44 in 50 in 84 appearances. Lest we forget, Uncle Tom blew 5 saves in 14 attempts for us last year. Puts things in perspective. I never liked Billy Goat's ERA, but he was always a pretty good reliever before 2003, a ballsy dude -- he would make you sweat it out by stranding a GW run at 2nd in quite a few 1-run saves. A 96-100 mph heater helped. What will he do now?

I'd love to be wrong the way I was wrong about Frank's batspeed coming into 2003.....But I think Billy Koch is DONE. Without velocity, he's a 5.00+ ERA reliever. My 92-win prediction hinges on, among other things, Koch somewhat returning to old form, but it looks more and more like wishful thinking on my part.
