  1. If this isn't blatant, back-handed, aimless arrogance and hipocrisy, then I don't know what is. First you post basically nothing (go back and re-read your replies). Then you reply with off-topic insults all the while accusing me of the same. Finally you claim moral superiority above for "not replying in kind" to my "shameless baiting"....Like I said, classic case of evasive Internet trash-talk (the kind where you can always make it personal and then pretend like you were "just having good ol' time" all the while continuing to bark and spit), peppered with your particular brand of pedestrian arrogance. Nothing more. No word about politics or topic at hand. Yawn. Substance, right...Actually, I don' really like Georgre and Daver all that much; I prefer ESPN.com because as when Bridgeport Joe, espnjohn1, Lake_Shore_Drive, idseer, RDivaldi, SS2K1, whitesoxfan666544, Boog_Alou, bigred, llball and of course JustJim (whose points I ALWAYS enjoy) get into a REAL arguement, it's a sight to to behold. WSI is way too Big Brotherly and, well, arrogant for my tastes if you must know. I've been banned there once more than a year ago and never looked back. ...the fact that, considering that you have said nothing worthy of attention topic-wise, makes you a contentious dullard. Why sell yourself short there, marte? You're a living proof that you can be BOTH...Effrotlessly Not that I give a damn about your personal mantra one way or another... BTW, nice job ignoring the point. Helps your "arguement".
  2. Politics and life ain't sports, buddy, so there is no reason to get your oversized panties into a twist as though Liberal-Conservative is just another Sox-Cubs pride fare in the order of "mah daddy was a GOPer and his daddy was a GOP'er...So, I'll be damned if I switched to the Dark Side". It's silly. Your trash-talk is silly. Your personal attacks are transparently silly. I am still waiting for "substance"...unless you haven't exhaused your vocabulary of pointless insult-slinging. Arrogant, humorless, psedo-intellectual bla blah blah
  3. Review your own scribblings on this thread fer a change, and try finding an ounce of common sense let alone "substance". I dare you. ("Emoticon" 'Bring It and "I am pissed" AIN'T what one might call fair and insighful commentary. ) I see you have graduated the BMR31 School of Silly Baiting and Empty Noise with honors. Congrads.
  4. ***hearty laughter*** Yeah, and I take it you are Mr. True&Real who knows what's up and ain't afraid to tell it like it is. Talk about true arrogance... I am surprised you didn''t hide behind other worthless copout words like "pretentious", "snobby", "egomaniacal", "pseudo-intellectual", etc...Making progress one baby-step at a time, I see. I actually I can and I do; ND ain't kindergarden.
  5. Word, doubleM23. Unless RedPinStripes is ready to put on a uni and lead the first infantry assault himself like YEsTERDAY...he needs to lay off the war-mongering/blind liberal-bashing for a change. It's getting boring. Also, equating "liberals" with "anti-Americans" is right up Ann Coultier's alley, and, trust me, you don't want to go down that rhetorical road. France may indeed have a classic case of America Envy (who doesn't? Quite of a few aspects of this country are simply GREAT), but this country is by NO means heaven, esp. considering the Oil Cabal running it into the ground. But hey, why don't you tell me about the benefits of the "Missile Shield", the Oil War and the tax cut (buy yourself a few extra beers did we? want lower gas prices do we?) to say nothing of a few other "programs" this admini is for implementing...cuz I am all ears.
  6. See I included the bonus mnoney, which I thought would be paid over time along with his salary. In any case, he is making significantly less money that I thought, so it should be even less of a problem if anything else.
  7. Hair s*** aside, this is the same era that made Johnny Rotten and Sid Vicious stars. Case closed. When I think of quality Broadway productions I think of KISS. Nice try. Key word is still: "Gutten"
  8. One thing to be said about Eminem: like Tupac before him he efinately has ACTING potential, though it does mostly depend on his charisma/personality, which limits his range so far. With some hard work and luck, he may be successful in that avenue. Certainly more than Miss Spears or Justin...Speaking of which, what's Britney's talent? Cuz according to the sales, she must be the greatest singer-dancer in the WOOOOOOOOOOOOORLD...Yo. I don't like them and think they are HORRIBLE. Of course they probably have more talent than a said 13yo playing in a garage...what is asinine is comparing them to 7th grader goofing off. You wouldn't mind if I said Royce Clayton or Mark Johnson have "no hitting talent", would you? I mean, they ARE better than your average 13yo and are millionaires...but common, it's silly to use the lowest denominator. KISS put a lot of money into pyrotechnics, sung ballsier-dumber songs then their contemporaries and grabbed their demographic early...the rest is commercial history. In the immortal words of the late great Shanai Twain, "It don't impress me much"
  9. 1. Minor technicality...doesn't fix his enormous lack of talent. 2. Key word "a capella", though I did use it tongue-in-cheekly. Also: See 1. 3. Non sequitur 4. Bwaaa!!
  10. All kinds...as long as it falls within (a wide) category of 'good'. Seriously from classical music to modern classical music to boadway musicals and classical jazz to blues, R&B, rock, pop rap, experiemntal, folk, native. AS LONG AS IT'S GOOD and ORIGINAL and INSPIRING. And KISS ain't it.
  11. We seem to be confusing "talent" with "popularity". Common mistake. What's their talent then? 'Cause it sure as hell NOT songwriting or playing. And I am not even going to go into tongue-swingign' barf-screamer that I am told was their vocalist...Give it up, dude. Their talent is making money, but that's it. Like I said, Eminem IS entertaining to me, albeit for dubious readsons. And I wouldnt't want to talk ANYONE out of liking him even if it were possible. World is way more interesting when it's diverse anyway. Peace.
  12. How can one NOT know such an intricate masterpiece as "Rock-n''Roll All Night" when it's sung by a capella of drunk, no-voice morons...You;re killin' me here. What utopian world are YOU living in, pal? Oh, that's right- the one where KISS is the 3rd highest selling band, that one. You're a riot.
  13. More empty noise from the worshipper of the whiny-ass, hateful, self-involved, tiny-talent Poseur...Just when will your bring your "facts" I wonder...? I did give his sound engineers and producer credit for some of the cool beats. What else do you want? ETA: 2nd grader "figuring out" Eminem? Proud grandparent, are you?
  14. I sleep well at night, thankyouverymuch. Their (and Stones to a lesser extent) commerical success says more about the audience than their merits as musicians/performers. But, whatever, it would be a boring world if everyone thought and liked the same things as me. Just sayin'.
  15. Julia Roberts is an Oscar-winning/20-mill-a-pic actress and yet she is WOEFULLY incapable in the acting department. Horsey McFace isn't even that good looking for that matter. There goes the "money" arguement. I am more of a pre-MD CZJ/Thandie Newton/Michelle Pfeiffer circa Batman 2 kinda guy, but to each his own. No s***...what's your point, Eminemboy?
  16. So is Jenna Jameson...Lte's put it this way: if you measure a collective IQ of KISS fans... If you think they are good (not even great) musicians, you are entitled to your opinion. A wrong opinion, but opinion nonethless. So if I am entertained by Blue Men Group, does it mean that they are any good? Well, at least BMG is the best at what they do, where kiss SUCKS. Rock-n'roll and deal with it. Easily exciteable, are we? Alsp, what does it have to do with his "music"? And Eminem's music doesn't entertain me; his "persona", however fake and trivial, is hiarious. Also his moronic fans, but that's another story.
  17. Oh, but we definately agree on that, Rex. All I said was that I am NOT worried about 18-20yo's becoming rich as I think that "they" are not unstable and life-ignorant babies many people insist on portraying them as. Kris Honel making 20 thou a month after tax or whatever is NOT his biggest problem by far and I mentioned other things that often lead to many a tauted prospect go a-bust. That's all. The rest was kinda side-track stuff...I happen to be high on Honel, but I also realize that he has a LONG way to go before we brand him an All-Star-type pitcher, which some think is a fact. Thus if he doesn't realize his potential, people will start yelling how he shouldn't have made all that money or some such nonsense. Look at Kobe 5 years ago. Garnett. MacGrady. Mark Buerhle. Garland. They are FINE as "fine" can be. Nobody said that fame and fortune and Life is f***in' easy. Even Iverson although he isn;t the best example per se. And what does mine and yours salaries have ANYTHING to do with some young man coming into a fortune? Just because it's not an every-day occurence, doesn't mean it's going to damage his 20yo phyche, send him down the drug&depression spiral and ruin his life...Or he may end end up there anyway, without extra "help".
  18. Ooooooh, we got a rebel on our hands...How about Limp Dickskit? Considering that none of KISS "musicians" can play instruments or sing and the lead singer is one of the most loathsome f***ers in the Western hemisphere...way to go in other words. They make AC/DC look like rock Beatles and Brian Johnson sound like Mario Lanza. kiss S.U.C.K.S., ah'it? ETA: Come to think of it, Eminem IS a semi-decent mainstream s***-kicker/angry clown; also his beats are generally innovative for all it's worth, at least compared to Puffmeister and Ja Rule and other "rappers". He ENTERTAINS me, that's for damn sure.
  19. Kip Wells cant possibly suck any more than Miguela Olivio who sucks microwaved donkey ass.
  20. Maybe as a European I am less used/approving of infantilization (sp?) of adults. I am sorry, but Kobe and McGrady and Garnett seem to be doing VERY well mentally and emotionally not to mention physically, and they made it WAY before Honel will. Iverson and Sprewells might be gangsters or whatever, but don't blame NBA for that. Besides, it not like they killed somebody and f***ed up their careers. Jason Williams was mature when he entered pro ball, so who do you blame for his troubles. Same for OJ. Sure, once in a while you get a kid who just implodes like Derryl Strawberry, but thene again I have a feeling he would have found a was to f*** up at 20, 25 and 30... I repeat, Honel is making mere 200 K, which after taxes and expenses, comes down to not much. I can see how a 19yo can't get carried away...Except not.
  21. I am not saying that your average 18yo is as wise and self-assured as yuour average 35yo, but then again they are not SUPPOSED to be. Most 18yo I know would EASILY be able to handle 100,000s, but then again they would never dream of such sums which is a totally different issue altogether. (I am 20 myself and am MUCH different from just 2 years ago, but that's probably because I was always a late bloomer and had to move to another part of the world when I was just 14....I am an actor and if a huge payoff comes early forn me, TRUST me, I wouldn;t blow it all on coke and ho's, lol) You are talking as though Honel is at the majors at 18., which just isn't true. Honel will not be brouyght up until 2005 if then. He will be 22+ by then. As far as victims go, Mike Caruso is a great exampe. Who know, if he was held back for extra 2 years, he might have been much stronger physically and, more importantly, mentally and might have ended up being Erstad Lite.
  22. Gee...I'd go with the "...or what" part: most 18yo go on to become busts because a) their talent is overrated to begin with, B) their work ethic/drive is nonexistent because it's one thing to play ball part time in HS and another to become a gym rat and put on weight, go on diets, adhere to a rigorous schedule, etc and not many are truly willing to do all that, and c) they cannot handle the pressure of pro sport day-in-day out psychologically and get over frequent and various performance slumps...Drugs and booze is not as big a problem as you think. Honel needs to hone(l) his slider and get better control of his fastball and general mechanics; to put on more weight and muscle; to learn batters and umpies and strike zone; and must be stong enough mentally (even Kip Wells was terrible in his first year because he looked like a lost puppy out), which is easier said than done....And then of course there isn issue of injury. Just ask Barcelo or Biddle Pure talent, if ever could be measure, by and in itselfis NOTHING in the world. Nody is giving Honel millions. All he gets is montly after-tax checks enough to pay for a good house, car and cloth. That's it. And 18 is not 12. IN most countries, 16 is audlt age. Stop babying these guys.
  23. If it's Rush from Canada we're talking about, then they are OK. Certainly not "s***ty". So who do you consider "not s***ty"? Eminem? Enrique Iglesias? Foo Fighters maybe? You're hilarious.
  24. No, MATMOK, it's either yet another alternative version of the ad (as I said 97.9 ha at least 2 or 3 that year) or the Who scream is just a follow-up to the ONE I am looking for. Like I said, it was more Rush than the Who. (The key word: "OPERA") *sigh* Will this mystery ever be solved?
