  1. Miguel Gonzalez deserves some run support here. he's outpitching Arrieta.
  2. Umps let Cubs get away with one there.
  3. QUOTE (Insp @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 06:59 PM) Why are our hitters so undisciplined? Coaching? It's an organizational thing.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 06:51 PM) Konerko looks amazing. He looks like he got a few years younger.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 06:33 PM) Hitting him early isn't bad if he has his good stuff. That's what Hawk and Stone said - that it's best to hit him early in the count before he gets to use his wipeout slider with two strikes. We'll have to see how it works out.
  6. I have a feeling the Sox are going to get to Arrieta tonight.
  7. Melky has been one of Hahn's best signings.
  8. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 05:59 PM) Great atmosphere so far. Hot as s*** though. Cubs only think they're hot s***. Sox will cool 'em off tonight!
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 04:50 PM) Clearly all the guys everyone wants were clearly available and they obviously will pull them back now. Yeah right, whatever.
  10. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 03:50 PM) That's fine. if nothing happens that means you wait until the off season. The advantage of waiting is that none of the contending teams are going to trade young talent on the MLB roster during the playoff race. However, they may be able to get one of them in the off season. It's not like Sale or quintana can leave this off season. The better deal might be in the winter. I thought we were talking about the market for closers. I doubt if anyone is going to seriously overpay for a closer during the offseason but someone may if they are in a race for the playoffs. If they want to deal Robertson they best do it while the market is hot, otherwise just keep him.
  11. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 03:28 PM) Most years it goes right up to the deadline which is a week away. And then for the Sox, nothing happens.
  12. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 10:54 AM) Seeing that massive price, the market might quickly be flooded with relievers. You've got to move on these things. Hahn doesn't move fast. I fear he's going to blow it. I hope I'm wrong.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 06:44 PM) I get really frustrated when it's time for us to sell. When it was Peavy, that he was 1.5 control we thought it would be such an asset to get more back. Then what did we hear back? "teams were looking for a cheaper option" When it was Rios "Just a rental, shouldn't expect much back" I feel like when push comes to shove we'll hear "Too good for the market, teams went after cheaper options" Hahn will find a way to screw it up.
  14. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 06:10 PM) I have no idea what you're trying to say lol. I think SouthSideSale is using the term "fold" as folding one's cards and walking away from the table, whereas everyone else is using "fold" as meaning "giving in" to Sox demands.
  15. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 02:55 PM) I'd like to trade Sale before Q. Sale's the ace; but he should bring a lot more...a lot to rejuvenate the team. Q is signed for one more year and will help while rebuilding and then after rebuilt. I also like his smooth delivery - looks like he can pitch til he's 35 or 40. A good steady arm while rebuilding. And then too much drama around Sale. I'd rather they trade Sale and keep Q too.
  16. QUOTE (Insp @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 07:52 PM) Interesting how nobody is posting here when thee team is ahead 3-1. Everyone is in the Chris Sale thread.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 07:40 PM) Stoney just took a shot at him What did he say?
  18. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:49 PM) so they switched? I read Sale was upset about the s***ty '76 jerseys. Apparently he ruined them so they couldn't wear them.
  19. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:46 PM) so what jerseys are they wearing? lol, this is gold! 83 throwback unis.
  20. White Sox general manager Rick Hahn clarified what occurred in a statement released at about 6:45 p.m. ET. "Chris Sale has been scratched from tonight's scheduled start and sent home from the ballpark by the White Sox due to a clubhouse incident before the game," Hahn said. "The incident, which was non-physical in nature, currently is under further investigation by the club. The White Sox will have no additional comment until the investigation is completed."
