  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 19, 2014 -> 07:26 PM) Carroll is getting nickelled and dimed and errored to death. One ball was hit hard He certainly deserves better than this.
  2. Gordon, Gordon, Gordon...sigh.
  3. Five freakin' pitches.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 19, 2014 -> 07:00 PM) http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/b...nded/order/true Wind blowing at with nearly gale force, over/under on homers is 4.5 and the Royals coming off an offensive explosion yesterday, especially Alex Gordon. Nothing looks good about this game for the Sox. Sox are gonna whup 'em.
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 18, 2014 -> 01:59 PM) Beckham was trying to hit a grand slam when he should have been looking for a hit. Not a good approach especially since the pitcher was having control problems.
  6. Nice to have Eaton back. Great throw by Springer - bases loaded no outs.
  7. Peacock wild but getting all the close calls. Nieto with the base hit. 4-1 Hou.
  8. Peacock losing his control. We need to have a big inning here.
  9. Nice AB Alexei. Dreaded leadoff walk.
  10. Danks strikes out Springer - out of the inning. Let's get these runs back.
  11. Ok, there's the four runs. Now Danks will shut them down for the next four innings.
  12. Let's see if he can gut it out and give us six innings with four runs or less.
  13. QUOTE (JoshPR @ May 18, 2014 -> 01:31 PM) DJ very critical of day an lately What's he saying?
  14. They only made him throw nine pitches. That's not going to work.
  15. I think Tank is going to step up and lead this offense.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 18, 2014 -> 01:10 PM) Even if they didn't DL him after Wednesday's game, sit him out on Friday, rest him for a day or maybe even two and see if it helps. A couple days off helped during spring training. If it continues to be an issue then you can DL him retroactive to the last game he played and already have started him on a healing process, costing the team fewer games without him. I agree with this.
  17. Here's my take on what happened. Just speculation of course. The Sox knew that at some point they were going to have to DL Abreu to rest his ankle but didn't want to have him out of the lineup as long as Eaton was still out (not to mention Sale). The Sox medical staff assured them that playing on it would not cause any serious structural damage just pain and discomfort. Abreu told the Sox he could play through the pain, so Sox figured they'd wait til Sunday when Eaton was due back to DL Abreu. Abreu and Sox underestimated the negative effect the pain would have on his performance resulting in the terribly painful ABs (both for Abreu and for us to watch), yesterday. So in 20/20 hindsight it would have been better to DL him after Wednesday's game, but the reasoning behind waiting is somewhat understandable.
  18. As I speculated in the game thread, I wonder if Abreu will go to the DL to make room for Adam Eaton. Konerko may be starting everyday for a couple of weeks.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ May 17, 2014 -> 06:39 PM) So many chances to win that game, just couldn't. Hopefully Abreu's injury isn't serious. He needs to rest that ankle.
