If that's indeed the case (not sure if it is), then they should ask him to go down and straighten himself out. If he refuses, he can figure things out while he watches from the bench and gets his chances as a late inning defensive replacement for Burger.

He's still a very good defensive 3B, but not good enough to overcome his terrible offensive production, his low baseball IQ and his apparent not give a shit attitude. I don't know why he's supposedly too good to work on straightening himself out in AAA like most other players have to do at times.

He should be. He's too valuable to just sit on the bench He needs to be getting ABs every day, preferably while playing 3B to work on his defense.

A LOT better. If they win they have a chance to take two of three and we can hold on to the slim hope that they're still in this thing. Another loss tonight and things will look mighty bleak sending Sox Nation into an emotional tailspin and the hope for summer baseball fun will be just about over. Just win tonight, I don't care how!

The Sox really need Eloy to be red hot when he comes back up. Can't afford a couple of weeks to get back in the groove. Let's hope he comes back raking like he's the hitter he was expected to be.

As I posted in today's game thread, if jimenez comes back they'll probably send Burger down so unless Eloy is back in 2019/2020 form it's a wash or even a downgrade if he performs like he did so far this season. Let's hope he comes back raking right from the get-go.

I doubt they send Sheets down for Eloy and sending down Hasely who can play outfield, for Jimenez who should play mostly DH, wouldn't be wise (although that never stops the Sox management). With Eloy back, Burger will probably get even less ABs than he has since Moncada's been back and he's too valuable to have just sitting on the bench doing nothing. He needs to be playing every day to get his ABs and he can play 3B every day at Charlotte to improve his defense and be ready to come back up and contribute if Yoan gets injured again.
