  1. Guys: Has your wife ever told you to "sleep on the couch"? If so, how did you handle it and what happened? Ladies: Reverse scenario. Have you ever told hubby to sleep on the couch? And, if so, why and what happened?
  2. It turns out that Keeny made Batista an offer. About the same money per year, but for 2 years when he got 3 from Toronto.
  3. Don't worry about. In fact, if the Yankees have any problems, George will throw money at it till it goes away.
  4. I've been enlightened and change my tune. I'd make that deal.
  5. I think I'm going to play it safe and just shut up at this point.
  6. Hence, my remark about hedging your bets.
  7. That would be a very reasonable/doable (sorry Steff) scenario. Ok, I'm all for the Maggs for Soriano deal.
  8. I'm not at all frustrated. It's a long off season. There are times when it pays to hedge your bets.
  9. That's more likely the scenario that will occur, but I think if they had a shot at signing Maddux, they'd take it. That may be the reason JR is in Nawlins.
  10. After Albert Belle, the words "degenerative hip condition" scare me. He's been a helluva pitcher, but I'd have to pass on him.
  11. If they sign Maddux, or whoever, I'm sure they will find someway to clear some payroll. I don't see this as a stumbling block just yet.
  12. I read in an LA area paper's website that Troy Percival has a degenerative hip condition and that's why they are listening to offers for him.
  13. Just yesterday, I said the Sox would have to get more than Soriano. But, you have convinced me otherwise. Having said that, I believe the Sox COULD get more than Soriano from the Yanks.
  14. I agree that it's probably not going to happen. But I can't see how anyone thinks that adding Greg Maddux for a reasonable price is a bad move.
  15. If Williams trades Magglio, he better be thinking along the lines of addressing both needs. But, please, not for Garcia. He's too much of a gamble, imo.
  16. Why are we still talking about this guy?
  17. Having Reinsdorf at the meetings does certainly raise the expectations that something big is being addressed. Now, whether or not we pull the trigger is anothery story.
  18. I get the distinct impression that some of you people think Greg Maddux is washed up. Are you out of your minds? A mediocre #3 pitcher? The dude won 16 games last year which means only 6 other pitchers in the NL won more games than him. Sounds mediocre (or avereage ) to me. Ya right. Maddux had 3 horrible starts in April of 2003. That is hardly a "bad year". From that point on he 16-8 with a ERA around 3.33 or so. Greg Maddux would be a great pickup for the Sox. Go for KW.
  19. It appears that you are the only smart one on the board. All sarcasm aside. There are valid points to be made on both sides of this argument. As someone mentioned, its a circular argument. This can be debated for weeks, and nothing is going to change, including anyone's opinion. So why is this such a confrontational discussion?
