  1. JM is the scapegoat for this guy because he consistant put up solid numbers for 4 years in Boston, then he sits on the bench here, with our team struggling offensively and needing a good LH bat in the lineup. Yep ... this was a major screw up by JM. In fact, it's a no brainer.
  2. This can't be our Aaron Rowand. Our Aaron Rowand blows.
  3. If you find any takers, I want a piece of the action. Maddux is still a very good pitcher. Everyone thinks he had a down year last year. He didn't, he had a rotten April, which inflated his ERA horribly. At one point he was 0-3 with a 10+ ERA. From that point forward he was 16-8 with an ERA in the heighborhood of 3.33. Not too shabby.

Damn people. CF is not an easy position to play well. There is no way in hell that I want Ordonez, as much as I like the guy, to be our everyday CF'er. That's insane.
  5. First dibs on playoff and Series tickets? Ya! Right! Bwahahahaha.
  6. Daubach's lack of production I blame squarely on Jerry Manuel. He didn't use him for two months, then expects him to be sharp. I hope next season is much better for BD than 2003 was. He didn't deserve to have to go through a season like that.
  7. As much as I'd like to get Nick Johnson (overhyped or not can be argued, but he fits our need for a solid LH hitter), I cannot see the 'Spos taking on that much salary unless they have a deal in place which would either move one of these guys or some other form of salary relief.
  8. When you look at the particulars of the deal as it was first presented here, you have to know that there would be other players or considerations involved. Swapping those three players and their contracts between the three teams just does not make any sense. You have to stop and consider it's only a rumor. If there is substance to the rumor, you have to realize that you are probably not getting the complete story. It's just the way this stuff works.
  9. LMAO ... I see your point, but I don't think we were talking about body parts. However, since you took that angle .... I would say that an average performance could easily be considered a mediocre performance. And that qualifies as this team's performance over the past few years.
  10. Average is pretty mediocre in my opinion.
  11. Getting LA and NY in a bidding war for Maggs would be very nice.

The interesting statement there is the possibility of the Rockies non-tendering Jay Peyton.
  13. As much as I hate to say it, but Moronotti is right.
  14. I saw that in the L A Daily News. They suggested Ortiz for Lee would be a good match. I wonder what they've been smoking. Here's the link
  15. Signing Colon for what he agreed to in Anahiem, and signing Alomar to a two year $6million deal would have been overpaying and mistakes.
  16. But Rex, it's not about the money. It's all a matter of respect.
  17. Great post Jason. I would love to have Reinsdorf see this. Better yet, I love to hear his comments after reading it. However, I have to agree with FlaSoxxJim on the half price night thing.
  18. There is no way in hell I'd offer Colon a 4 year $12.5 or whatever per year contract. The forth year of the contract you have a rich lazy 35 year old fat man.
  19. Kenny says he wants people who "really want to play for the White Sox". Call the Schaumburg Flyers. They may have some.
  20. Eh more power to them, when Colon is broken down in a year or two. 4 years is just too high risk for a pitcher like him.
  21. You wave at Magglio and he flips you the bird? Just joking Beastly.
  22. That is beyond some peoples abilities or comprehension.
  23. I'm with you here. I think about 70% of the posters are either frustrated because the Cubs have made some moves or just flat out over reacting. Just my opinion.
  24. No way in hell do I see us with that many 1st and 2nd year players.
