December 10, 200322 yr I think Konerko and Thomas are the only players under contract then for something like 15 mill. If they can move Konerko then you only have one contract. Of course all the arbitration eligible guys aren't figured into this, but it will be a vast difference from this year where like 5 or 6 players make up 53 mill of a supposed 58 mill payroll.
December 10, 200322 yr True, while I'm not one who's jumping ship and calling the 04 season a wash already... There is certainly an opportunity to really put this organization in a good position rather quickly... I think we can easily put a winning product out on the field this year... I think we have more players than we did in the 2000 season... The type of players we need to fill are the Tony G.'s and Herbert Perry's.. Those were two non-glamorous TB castoffs who wee wicked up late. There's no way we would have had the season we did that year without them...
December 10, 200322 yr Frank might leave too....since his double option will kick on again with his decision followed by our decision
December 10, 200322 yr There is an opportunity all right to raise ticket prices yet again and cry about a budget the CYCLE never ends.
December 10, 200322 yr And you think el Cheapo will spend? NOT!!! He'll raise tickets again and claim he's uptight for cash... Tell me Jerry, what did you do with the 9 million from the National TV contract?? And other things.. Ohhh I know.. In your bank account, fat lying bastard :fyou

In your bank account, fat lying bastard :fyou Josh lets add a few million they received in revenue sharing, and now they signed the comcast deal which will give them more millions next year. Then lets talk about the money from the All star game. and the 1.9 million in fans last year.

December 10, 200322 yr Who do you think we be on the roster in 2005. That are on the team now. I say, Creede, C.Lee, Olivo, Garland, and Uribe. I really dont think Mark will be here, and who knows with Estaban. Maggs will most likley be gone, Frank proabably retired, who knows at CF, 2b, and SS. My guesses are Jeremy Reed, Willie Haris and Uribe or some other shortstop who has about a .290 OBP
