You know, if in fact the Cubs do win the World Series, it may turn out to be the best thing to happen to the Sox in years. Think about it. The Cub fans will now start EXPECTING the Cubs to be winners every year. They will eventually suck again. When they do, then the loveable loser thing will no longer apply, they'll just suck. Then Cub Nation bails out on 'em and the Cubs will be playing in front of cockroaches at Wrigley.

The run of good 1st round picks... Thomas, Robin, etc... these guys were all early first round pick. We haven't had a top ten pick in over 10 years, iirc. That has to be taken into account when you are critiquing the Sox drafts.

I'd like to see the Sox resign Robbie, then have Miles, Harris and Alomar actually have to battle for the position in ST. I don't know if Alomar could hold off Miles if he was given a fair shot at it. If Miles beats Alomar out we could always trade him back to the Mets.

A thirdbaseman of Koskie's status is hard to find. They would have been fools to let him walk since they did have an option clause. That's one reason I'm glad Crede has finally "arrived". He's a good one.

When Kenny fired Manuel, he bought himself a little bit of time. You have to remember that KW did not hire JM. Manuel was in place when KW got the GM position. I would say that JM was KW's safety net. Well, he's cut the net, so now KW would be the one on the hot seat, from this point forward.
