Think about it, CK. The Cubs have been playing to a national audience over WGN for years. OF COURSE Fox is going to play to that. They know what they need to do to draw viewers. It's all about $$$$$.

I read something about Livan toward the end of the season. Supposedly, he changed his arm angle and/or his release point. That move made his fastball increase in velocity and movement. This happened around the All Star break. I'm too lazy to look up the numbers, but he was one of the best pitchers in the NL in the second half. He's been kind of flying under the radar, but that's why I think he'll be the 2004 version of Esteban Loaiza.

LMAO ..... It sucks, I know.

I've been saying since the beginning of September that the Cubs were for real. Once, toward the end of the year I said they'd choke, but that was wishful thinking. I'm afraid we are going to have to face the very real possibility of the *gag* Chicago Cubs in the World series.

I was thinking Willis would go in game 4 vs. Clement. Two guys traded for each other. Interesting matchup.
-
Grace will be great. And yes, it is a total diss of the Cubs. Way to go Mark!
-
I would rather choose denial over saying ANYTHING good or nice about the Cubs, and normally Im very objective.......... :finger Shut up, b****!
-
Hey. That's the way I see it. Of course, the question called for an unbiased answer. That does not mean I WANT the Cubs to win. I just think they will. So .... :fyou too!

No, I don't think Penny intentionally laid one in there for Sosa. C'mon, this is the playoffs. He just missed his spot. Sosa hit a cripple. It happens.
-
With the Sox, he was as bad on the field as is he is now in the booth.
-
To answer the original question, I think the Cubs will beat the Fish.

I think the fact the he was a first ballot, near unaminous HOF'er is precisely why he is overrated. No way in hell was Ozzie any better than Aparicio. Yet, Looie didn't get in on the first ballot. Ozzie, while still deserving of his HOF status, backflippeed his way in on the first ballot.

Maggs doesnt worth that money??????? Who worth???? Frank ??? Maggs is team first guy and he shows it all year and you wanna keep Frank??? That's ridiculous... Rafa, in today's "market" Magglio is not worth $14 Million when that will amount to 25% (or more) of the teams payroll.

Sorry ... can a mod delete one of these dups please?

From the Daily Southtown High points: 1. If Ozzie Guillen is not hired as manager, he's expected to rejoin the Sox as third base coach. (Which I suggested in a previous post.) 2. Kenny Williams wants more of a speed game next season.

All the b****ing and moaning about Sosa's hop that goes on in here and no one seems to mind Manny and Lowe's antics. Let's talk about a double standard. I think Sosa's hop is bush. I think what Ramirez did should have earned him a "close shave". If Lowe did gesture, as described, to the A's dugout, he should be suspended from the ALCS.... Period. Ya, you Boston fans should be proud that your city is being represented by such upstanding citizens.

That would be me. I voted for Lincoln because of what he brought this nation through in the most trying of times. In fact, the fact that this was something he actually accomplished, as opposed to Jefferson's philosophy, was the deciding factor. Even though they were diametrically opposed, as you say, they were still both great men and even greater presidents. So smile at what you so obviously perceive as my ignorance if you must. I have my reasons for choosing those two and stick by it. YASNY, I in no way meant to imply I thought your choices were ignorant. Not at all. I'm just a centrist government kind of guy is all. I remember getting into a debate with my professor about the Hamilton vs. Jefferson conflict. I guess in my youth my dislike of Jefferson was a little bit stronger than was necessary! Noted and understood.

Jason, you made choice between McClintock And Arnold based on what you thought was best for your state, and I can respect that. You had your reasons, go for it. Personally, and that is a key word, I would have choosen to vote for the candidate that I thought was best qualified regardless of there being a slim chance of them winning. I believe my vote is my chance for my voice to be heard.

Apollo Creed for Governor!
-
Jason, you seem to be a reasonable man. You let things go until it get's out of hand, then you step in and try and quell the turmoil in the least restrictive and least punitive means possible. I respect your approach and support you 100%.

Will be?
-
Sorry, but I do not classify Andrew Jones as overrated.
-
Sosa "matured" in the Wrigley environment. He would have been a much different person if the Sox had kept him. I'm sure the Cubs pushed him to be a media darling rather than a baseball player. Good for revenues.

SOME PUNK LOSER DRUNK...............some humans just amaze me. Im sure he has his "rationale" for that, too. And even better, I am sure he will sue for brutality of some kind. I don't see a problem with a fan cheering for whatever he wants, regardless of the circumstances. If the Red Sox aren't professional enough to ignore what's going on in the crowd, then that's the sad part about all of this. No fan should be ejected from the park for taunting unless it is effecting the game, regardless of the situation. That's my take and most of you seem to not agree with it, but that's fine. I beg to differ. In society in general, there is some behavior that is considered unacceptable, even if it is just vocal. Just because you buy a ticket, that doesn't give you licence to be a complete moron. Example: The Cleveland fans taunting David Wells about his mother passing away. That was grossly inappropriate and should not have been allowed.
