I'm in ... what the hell. Sounds like fun.
  4. Damn! That was bad. Get some sleep!
  5. If they lose these next two games, the seasons over. If you still think theres a chance then, lol uhhh thats your problem. I gotta agree with BMR. We get swept by Detroit again and u can stick a fork in us... ALthough for the clueless of the board, and there seems to be many lately, i dont think the sox will get swept by the tigers. At least i hope not. The only way we get swept is if Loaiza loses ANOTHER 1-0 game to these guys.
  6. May he can find the 8 that Koch lost.

    Welcome to the club!
  9. That's always the big question with young pitchers. Some, with all the talent in the world, never do. Look at Nolan Ryan. He was always wild.
  10. A 5 game sweep... now wouldn't that be just terrible
  11. I agree .... It's all about the long term, not just "today's game". For the record, I live in what can definitely be called "Cardinal country". So, I am very aware that there are, in fact, some not so bright Cardinal fans that think LaRussa is a lousy manager. I've been watching this guy manage for years and I'm telling you, he's a solid major league manager.
  12. If you go to Wrigley wearing a Cork shirt ..... they'll just look at you with dumb blank expressions because they won't understand what it means.
  13. It's absolutely out of the question.
  14. I agree with Hawk. Every weakness that we had comin into this season has been strengthened thanks to the moves of Kenny Williams. I think the Alomar, Everett signing might be the moves of the year...As far as players go...It's Loaiza. Say what u want about our pitching staff...Bottom line is between Buehrle, Colon, And Garland their records combined is 32-33. Without Loaiza and his sterling numbers no telling where this team might be... Sure there is .... 4th place.
  15. suckass LMAO !!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Those damn trees are still blocking some peoples' view, I see.
  17. 8/29 Detroit...Buerhle 8/30 Detroit...Garland 8/31 Detroit...Loiza 9/1 ...Day Off 9/2 Boston...Colon 9/3 Boston...Buerle 9/4 ...Day Off 9/5 Cleveland...Loiza 9/6 Cleveland...Garland 9/7 Cleveland...Colon Why do you have Garland/Loaiza on Aug 30-31, then Loaiza/Garland on Sep 5-6?
  18. David Wells suggesting by implication that the Yankees are classless. Talk about irony!
  19. Molto, you're fighting a losing battle. I agree with you and JM. This is just another excuse for fans to b**** about the manager. Those who know baseball and have been around the game know this was a solid decision. If there is one thing I have noticed on these boards since I've been reading, it's that many fans seem to develop personal vendettas against certain players and managers and can't seem to let it go. Taking the opportunity to give one of your horses an extra days rest late in August when the playoffs are a good possibility is a solid decision. No one is talking about the adverse affect in could have on Buehrle in late September. No one can guarantee we would have won the game if Buehrle pitched. Say they loose the game and now have Cotts and Garland going back to back in Detroit. This team could be staring a 2 or 3 game loosing streak right in the face. Instead, we have Buehrle, Garland and Loaiza going against Detroit and have a great shot at taking 2 of 3, if not sweeping, the Tigers. If you told most people on this board that we were going to go 4-2 on this road trip, most of them would be very pleased. Especially with our struggles on the road and our unexplainable troubles with the Tigers. EDIT: now all we have to do is go 4-2, but better yet 5-1. If he needed an extra day, why did JM state after the New York game that he'd probably be going to a 4 man rotation? If Buerhle needs all this extra rest, why did he move him up a game, against MB's wishes against Minnesota in May? I just wish this guy was consistent. He gave Buehrle an extra day of rest BECAUSE he anticipates the need to possibly go to a four man rotation. And that situation in May means absolutely nothing today. We are in the stretch drive of a battle to win a division.
  20. You have some valid points here, but I don't think we can afford to give Cotts another shot this year. He has shown a consistant lack of command. I think he's going to be very good. But, he's not ready just yet.
  21. And what makes you think our front office learns from experience?
  22. Those two words ... jerk reaction ... seem somehow appropriate here. BTW, refering to Selig here. I don't want any misunderstandings.
