  1. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! ...... That has been my point all along. It was, in JM's opinion, for the good of the team over the long haul. Some people can't see the forest for the trees.
  2. I would agree with that but for one minor detail .... at this point, we really need Danny in the pen. Unless Paniagua can come in and hold down the job in the pen.
  3. I just hope nobody over reacts and goes into panic mode. Geez
  4. Right! Good pitchers like Buehrle don't give up 10 runs. Or pitchers with 300 wins like Clemens. Or quality pitchers like David Wells. It just doesn't happen!
  5. Ok, I have no beef with that statement. His performance next spring will be the determining factor.
  6. The whole damn f***ing season went right down the tubes today because we didn't sweep the Yankees!!!! Damn Damn Damn!!!!
  7. chicagosports.com BTW, thanks for your input and help last night. Much appreciated.
  8. Cotts just needs to learn how to get command of his pitches. I've been iffy on whether or not he was ready for this league, until today. He needs some time in AAA. Half a season should do it.
  9. And Cottsy feels the same way .... He expressed that he felt bad about letting the team down.

    STOP!!!

This is certainly not a panic situation. We went into New York and took 2 out of 3, which everyone hoped we'd be able to do before the series. And, just for the hell of it ....... :fthecubs
  11. I would think having Borchard on the bench, a switch hitter with power, could be useful during the stretch drive. I think he'll be called up.
  12. I couldn't disagree more. I was a very gutsy move by JM. And it backfired. So he's getting reamed. Which is why it was gutsy. He knew he was hanging himself out to dry if this happened. Yet, the man did what he thought was best for the team.

    Alright...

Note to self: Never date a female from Illinois State You beat me to that one, Rex.

    Alright...

It doesn't matter that the same thing coulda happened to Buehrle. The fact is that a manager is supposed to give his team a chance to win every time out. Jerry did not do that today... Actually, no. That's not a managers job. His job is to give his team a chance to win as many games as possible. Not just to pull all stops to to win "today". JM thought he did what was best for the team by making this decision. Today, it didn't work out, but over the course of the rest of the year, if just might prove to very beneficial to the club.
  15. That about sums it up, HSC.
  16. When Isiah led his classless "Bad Boys" off the floor as the clock expired when the Bulls swept the Defending Champion Pistons in the '91 Eastern Conference Finals, I lost all respect for him and his teammates that followed him. After a series, there is always some interection between the teams, good luck wishes, etc. But to run off the floor and hide like that was so bush league. Though, I did enjoy watching that game surrounded by Piston fans!
  17. Thanks. I can only say 09/11/01 was one of the worst days of my life. Speaking of the Sox and 9/11, though, I remember hearing something later on that a Sox player (I think it was Aaron Rowand) called someone else on the team and wanted to know when they were leaving for the Stadium. Whoever he called said something to the effect of "Are you kidding? Turn your TV on". Rowand obviously was oblivious to what was going on. Hard to believe that was nearly 2 years ago. The 2nd anniversary of that day is fast approaching. I hope that day passes with no "sequels".
  18. That's true. If we win this thing, Loaiza should really be given serious consideration for MVP. The Cy Young should be a lock.
  19. I agree with you 100%. It's no accident the Yanks are such a good team. You may hate 'em, but you have to respect 'em. They know how to play the game.
  20. Sounds like more New York sour grapes against Robbie to me. What Robbie has brought to the team cannot be measured with numbers. And to compare him to Jiminez shows just how clueless this idiot is.
  21. The winning attitudes that Alomar and Everett have brought to this team are major factors in the team's turnaround this year, imho.
  22. Thanks. I can only say 09/11/01 was one of the worst days of my life.
