  1. We don't seem to have the killer instinct to sweep a series. They seem to be happy with 2 out of 3. That's acceptable, but we really need to run off a long winning streak.
  2. JM wanted the left handed bat in the lineup.
  3. They may come in happy, but they won't leave that way.

    Its okay

We were beaten today by a very good pitcher. No shame in that. Though, Jose almost played the hero again.

Frank's not pissed at Konerko, why should you be?
  6. No one is saying he is a superstar. He had a horrible start this year. He was sent to the minors and got his s*** together. Lately, he has been looking much better. I believe he'll be a good major leaguer eventually. Not a HOF'er, not an All Star, but a decent ballplayer.
  7. I believe that when it is all said and done, Aaron Rowand will be considered a very solid ballplayer.
  8. Black Bikini? ... I'll be watching.
  9. OK ... I going to really analyze this game. White Sox 4 Cubs 3 f*** YES!!!!! I Luv it when you analyse Too funny! I had to laugh.
  10. Another walk off win!!!! f*** YES

Jiminez played 6 weeks of good baseball .... opening day through May 12th. (Shades of Kenny Lofton) Since then, he's below the Mendoza line and sucking in the field. So, I'll give you this much: The dumbf*** had a great hit yesterday. Paulie gave us 2.5 years of good baseball. I'll hang in there with him much longer than I will for DJ.
  13. Let's hope we make that 0-4, with a healthy jump in the ERA.
  14. Jerry has said the last two outing that Colon is on a limited pitch count of about 100. I mentioned JM "being cautious" with Colon's arm in another thread a few days ago.
  15. Let's see .... Klesko said it in ST, and someone on the Sox agreed with him later, then I have to say there is an awful lot of smoke for there to be no fire. That's to say nothing of what we've all seen on the field this year. I'd say it's time to see Aaron Miles.
  16. Is this the same CubKilla that sat with us in the left field bleachers the day Crede hit his walkoff homer against the Tigers?
  17. 45k+ fans at the Cell might be contributing to the intensity level. Heather, screw bragging rights, we are 4.5 games out.
  18. Thank you for putting that so succinctly. Though, I would have substituted the word "garbage" with "moronic".
  19. I ran across this little blurb in the Sporting News: Considering the Cubs have all these fireballing strike out pitchers, what do you think?

That's strange I ahted Kentucky because they were so damn boring in the Pitino years. #5 threes a game? zzzzzzzzzzzzz.......... When you're a fan, and they are successful, it's fun to watch. There was also their pressing defense.

For the record, I'm a Kentucky fan. I have no bitterness towards Pitino. He salvaged the program from the Eddie Sutton debacle and then brought two NCAA championships here. I know, Tubby Smith was coach for the 2nd one in '98, but it was done with Pitino recruits. I am stunned... Pitino showed absolutely no loyalty to a cherished program. I would think Kentucky fans would hate Pitino. To the same level that Alabama fans hate that coach that left for A&M. (His name eludes me at the moment) Honestly, Eddie Sutton is the guy I hate. Pitino did not make a "till death do us part" commitment to UK. But, he did almost singlehandedly (former AD C. M. Newton played a major role) revitalized a program that Sutton left in a shambles. In fact, I don't see how Oklahoma State justifies hiring that scumbag. Pitino made UK basketball fun. In fact, I can't remember a period where they were more fun to watch than during the Pitino years. (Note: I did not become a UK fan until 1976 when I moved here, so I don't remember the Rupp years at all.)
  22. It's a pretty morbid (and poor) attempt at humor, IMHO.
  23. I really wish they'd call up Miles. Jiminez is just totally sucking.
  24. Making the second out of an inning to move a runner to third... No, his job is to get a hit and drive the run home. If he "sacrificed" himself to move the runner, that was a BONEHEAD play. It still take a base hit to get that run home, unless the Cubs give it to us with an error, wild pitch, passed ball or balk.
  25. Jose has had a bad year with the stick. Along with the rest of the team. But hits like he has had lately came turn the whole thing around. Hitting is, they say, contagious.
