Gammons AL Central talk
I'd hate to give up Cotts, because so many people are impressed with the guy. But still, he's a AA pitcher that might or might not have success in the big leagues. Weaver has proven he can pitch, and pitch well.

Willie Harris
I'd like to see what Harris at 2b and Rowand in CF could do for awhile. We have a month till the deadline. These guys both look like they are starting to get with the program.

Gammons AL Central talk
Weaver is a good pitcher. If we can get him without getting raped, I say do it. Whether he signed with us or not when he was drafted is of no concern today.

Carlos Lee
No, I want Maggs to get extremely hot. Tell Carlos to feel free to do so as well.

If we go after Alomar
You don't think the Expos were going to pay Juan Gone do you? Nope... that's the price these days. The Sox are competing with a couple of teams for Alomar, so that could jack up the price a bit.

If we go after Alomar
Well, I'll be in and out of here tonight. A little busier than usual.
-
Carlos Lee
I agree with you and I hope we are both right about that.

If we go after Alomar
It would probably be along the lines of the agreed upon, but unconsumated, Juan Gonzalez deal. A couple of iffy prospects should do the trick.
-
Carlos Lee
I'd venture to say that outside of the pitching staff, Carlos Lee has been our best all around ballplayer this season.
-
Willie Harris
Renteria would most definitely be a welcome addition to this team.

AARON FUCKING ROWAND!
Rowand showed enough last season after the Lofton trade for me believe he'll be a good ballplayer. Early this year, when he struggled, I thought it was due to his injuries. I'm sure they did play a part in it, but I'm glad he went down to AAA and got himself straightened out. He's looking more like the player I always thought he could be.

WGN=TV for Saturday's Game
I agree. Heather what did you do to Carlos Lee? The guy is absolutely zoned in on that baseball now. He was just impressive to no end. Carlos's overall game has picked up considerably in the last month or so. He seemed to be the first one that noticably started busting ass to try and get the Sox out of their early season doldrums.

Trade Loaiza
Really the odds of any of this happening are remote at best. But, playing GM is kind of fun, and it does open conversation. So, at times when I read a thread like this I think "WTF", it's still worthwhile if for nothing but pure entertainment.

4 out of 6
Yes, as long as we can maintain that head to head advantage, we can always fall back on that after a bad series.

Who's Fault?
And a very good first post it is. Welcome to the Board!

NBA Draft Thread
Im concerned about a guy like Lebron. He is gonna have to be ONE STRONG PERSON to deal with the overwhelming expectations being cast on him. It goes much deeper than just his basketball skills. My guess is the poor guy will never live up to the hype, and how could he? I can't see how he possibly can live up to it. They really have made him out to be the next MJ. How the hell can a kid live up to that? Hopefully, he has very good NBA career and all this crap just doesn't ruin the kid.

Walkoff Weekend (Cubs YNOT Results)
Thanks for the congrats, but I got lucky because I really am not sure how all this is working. For example, What do the - & + numbers in parenthesis represent?

DJ
The dumbf*** made another f***ing error today which cost us a run. At least he's consistant.

Dumb cubs
Personally, what upsets Dusty Baker is the least of my concerns.

4 out of 6
These guys are just heating up. Don't "tinker" with them now.

Willie Harris
I'd rather have Rowand than Singleton.

I dont EVER wanna see Mora on the Southside
Geez... I'm sorry I said anything at all. I was trying to inject a little humor here.
