  1. Seems to be a lack of really good safeties in the league. I still think Earl Thomas is the best, but you could argue for Byrd.
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 8, 2014 -> 08:49 AM) So you would take a good yet unspectacular pass rushing defensive end over the best safety in the game. Smart. Best safety in the game! Damn.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 7, 2014 -> 10:18 AM) MD Jennings for Chris Conte, straight up trade. Who says no? In the end it's s*** for s***. Both teams will probably draft a safety or two in the next draft.
  4. Here is how bad Packers safety M.D Jennings is. He played 855 snaps this year and did not defend one pass. Not one. Only player in NFL to play over 800 snaps and do that. You think he would have defended one on accident. Packer safeties had zero INT this year. @zachkruse2 Morgan Burnett and MD Jennings were targeted 60 times in 2013. Allowed 46 catches, 612 yards, 9 TDs and a passer rating of 148.1.
  5. I did find it entertaining yesterday when the Packers ran out of linebackers and had 290 pound Datone Jones playing OLB. He didn't look all that bad.
  6. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 12:26 PM) No one is ever going to get my sympathy for injuries after what just happened to Kansas City That was brutal.
  7. I'm not looking for sympathy, The Packers have won a lot of Super Bowls. No one is giving any sympathy for them, I know that.
  8. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 11:54 AM) Who are those guys? If a guy comes down with a 3 week injury in week 15, and the team isn't headed to the playoffs, is that classified as serious then since it is season ending? If a guy misses the first 10 weeks of a season and comes back, is that not serious because it wasn't season ending? Clay Matthews, Casey Hayward, Brian Bulaga, Johnny Jolly, Jemichael Finley, Brandon Bostick, Jonathan Franklin, DuJuan Harris. Lot's of good players in that list.
  9. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 11:29 AM) Do you know where you can find these lists? I'm curious as the only ones I find are game to game. I know that back in week 5 the Niners had 13 injured players already. I don't know if there is one site that breaks it down. I look at a couple different sites and go off memory. The 49ers may of had some injuries during the season, but none of them must have been that serious. That team they had yesterday had every starter playing minus Rogers. I'm not knocking the 49ers for that, I think it's impressive. I wish the Packers could do that. Even for just one year.
  10. The 49ers have pretty much handed it to the Packers, but I feel like the Packers are getting closer. That playoff game last year the 49ers had way more talent and it wasn't close. Past two times have been closer. Also when it comes to the 49ers and Seahawks, they both have to start paying those QB soon. No more 70 million just for defense.
  11. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 11:06 AM) Don't forget having your #1 and #3 wide receivers missing a majority of this year. Aldon Smith missed 5 games, Davis a few games, the list goes on. Everyone has injuries, all teams play through them. I forgot about Crabtree. I don't know who their number #3 WR is. Vernon Davis missed 1 game this year. Aldon Smith missing time was his own fault. That is still really good health, almost any team would take that. The Packers have 16 players on IR this year. Not including Matthews.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 10:55 AM) It seems like the 49ers have been the healthiest team in football the last two seasons. That's just as important as playing well. They have pretty much rolled out the same players for two years straight. I think Patrick Willis missed some time last year, but only a few games. Carlos Rogers missed the game yesterday, but he is only their nickle back. The Packers have had so many injuries the past few years, I forget about players they have.
  13. Kaepernick made some nice plays with his feet yesterday, buy some of his throws are just weird. For a guy with a strong arm, he can throw some ducks.
  14. If the 49ers play offense like they did against the Packers, they will lose. Panthers D is tough.
  15. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 08:39 AM) On one of those it looked like it was just blown contain by the blitzer, he tried going inside the blocker and Kaepernick was able to turn it into a huge run on 3rd down IIRC. If he had stayed outside, Kaepernick couldn't have done that. Yeah, the one on the last drive. Bush came in on a blitz. It was a good blitz, but he came in uncontrolled and Kaepernick was able to run around him.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 08:30 AM) Part of the problem for them is that they seem to completely forget that Kaepernick can run during their game preparation. Or if they're not forgetting, they have other priorities. They don't want to let Gore beat them or Kaep beat them through the air, and that requires putting all 11 guys into things and having no one focused on the QB running. They sold out to stop Gore yesterday and for the most it worked, minus the two big runs by Kaepernick.
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 08:24 AM) It was a great game. I honestly feel it lived up to the hype that was given to it. The Packers need a lot of help on D. They need some help on defense, but I don't think they are totally devoid of talent. They have some really good players on defense, just none of them play. Safety is the one position they really need help. Bad.
  18. Sucks that the Packers lost, but I think they played a pretty good game. They were right there with a great football team. Biggest problem for the Packers is staying healthy. I look at that 49ers team and they have all of their starters playing that they had in week 1. I am very jealous of that.
  19. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 3, 2014 -> 04:03 PM) Bradford made some strides this year, I have no problem going back to him. Before he got hurt, he was on pace for just under 4,000 yards, 30 TD, and about 9 INT, with a 61% completion rating. He had career highs in every category prior to the injury. Obviously they could improve at QB, but after what I saw I'd like to see him get 1 more year. I think he has one more shot. Was looking better before that knee injury. Have to remember that 9 of his touchdowns this past year came against Jaguars, Texans and Falcons. Not exactly a tough test. If I were them and the Texans pass on Bridgewater, I take him.
  20. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 3, 2014 -> 03:43 PM) My Rams are once again going to have a great draft thanks to that awesome trade with the Redskins that allowed the Redskins to draft RG3. So far the Rams have used those picks for.... DT Michael Brockers, CB Janoris Jenkins, LB Alex Ogletree, RB Zac Stacy, WR Stephen Bailey, and now the #2 overall pick this year, who could be DE Clowney, OR the Rams could pull a 2012 trade all over again and offer up the #2 overall pick for a few more 1st RD picks down the down. Maybe drop down to the Jets pick and take a WR like Mike Evans. And they would STILL have their #13 overall pick as well. tl;dr, As a Rams fan, RG3 is my favorite player in the NFL pretty much. Unless they get a QB, they are just another team.
  21. As far as the safety position goes, I'd love to see the Packers take Calvin Pryor or Ha'sean Clinton Dix.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 3, 2014 -> 01:28 PM) This was a depressing list. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1908126...nt-crop/page/13 I really like Byrd and Ward, but that is about it. Whitner is a solid player too.
  23. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 3, 2014 -> 11:38 AM) You couldnt PAY me to go to a game with weather below -20 Even if I wanted to go, I couldn't find anyone willing to go with. Especially not my wife.
  24. Packers game sold out. It was weird to even see Packer tickets on ticketmaster. I went on a couple time just to look at it, even though I had no plan on going. It was just weird to see.
  25. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 08:25 PM) Apparently there are still tickets available for that game, as well as the Indy and Cincinnati games. Blackout rules still apply. http://deadspin.com/three-of-four-nfl-play...-out-1493124005 Mike Golic giving Packer fans s*** this morning for this game not selling out in 5 minutes. I know the people of Green Bay live in the cold and games are normally cold, but this is different. It's going to be a high of -5 on Sunday, they are predicting this could be one of the coldest games ever. They are talking -30 with wind chill. That is actually dangerous to be out in. I think the 2007 NFC championship game they played in was -7. This should well pass that.
