  1. Wow. Cutler and Rodgers both got 54 million guaranteed.
  2. Cutler and Stafford remind me of Favre sometimes. The good and the bad.
  3. Cutler has turned the ball over 137 times in 104 games. That is a ton.
  4. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 12:26 PM) Peppers was blocked by the FB and was lunging over him at Rodgers. Wooten was held pretty bad on the play as well, as you can see in the third still from Bowen: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1905131...rom-nfl-week-17 Lol. According to Bear fans, every play the Packers should been called for a penalty.
  5. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 10:50 AM) That's a lot of money for a guy that hasn't played a full season in 4 years and has played 10 or 11 games in 2 of the last 3. And for a guy that's 1-9 against the Packers. And for a guy that has won, what, one playoff game? That playoff win was against a 7-9 at home.
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 10:44 AM) Martellus Bennett was on B&B monday, and it really seemed like bringing his brother to the team is a big priority for him. His brother is going to where the money is. He will get big bucks.
  7. @alexmarvez, Cutler extension avg $18M in the 1st 3 yrs. That suggests a guarantee in the $50M-$55M range
  8. The years really don't matter, it will be the guaranteed money. How much do you give a QB who hasn't thrown 20 touchdowns in a season since 2010.
  9. @kfishbain Phil Emery announces that the Bears have signed Tim Jennings, Matt Slauson and Jay Cutler.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 05:34 AM) So it's supposed to be really f***ing cold in Green Bay on Sunday. Like potentially Ice Bowl cold. I was going to buy tickets for this game, but then I saw what the weather was gonna be. I'll just watch it from the comfort of my heated home.
  11. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Dec 31, 2013 -> 10:05 AM) No chance for the Pack, absolutely none. Totally. I heard they are thinking about canceling the game.
  12. I think the Packers have a shot at beating the 49ers on Sunday. They played them much the last time they played. I would lean toward the 49ers winning, but would not be shocked if the Packers won.
  13. 1. Gravity 2. Man of Steel 3. Star Trek: Into Darkness 4. Thor: The Dark World 5. Pacific Rim 6. Elysium 7. Iron Man 3 8. This is the End 9. Hunger Games 10. A Band Called Death ( I think this actually came out in 2012, but didn't wide release until 2013)
  14. Watched Elysium last night. Not as good as District 9, but still had it's moments. Sharlto Copley was great as Kruger. Also if you are a music fan check out A Band Called Death. Cool documentary about a lost proto punk band. You can stream it on Netflix.
  15. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 02:18 PM) The irritating thing about replay challenges is that on the Jeffrey play if they give him a TD it is a booth review automatically and the ball could be moved back, by making what those nitwits thought was the right call it cost bears a timeout and what would have been their last challenge. Bears lost the touchback challenge which they should have won. To b**** further, when a ball is on the field and nobody is playing it, it is a dead ball...not sure that play should have been that call. Here is my problem there. If boykins picks it up and the whistle had blown and peppers creams him it is a penalty think rogers BS late hit. Wait, if the ball is on the ground and nobody is playing it, it is a dead ball? Wut?
  16. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 01:09 PM) So now we are accusing McClellin of being a dirty player?Do you consider the tackle that led to Rodgers broken collarbone earlier in the season a dirty play? No, that play that hurt Rodgers was just because of the way he landed. I don't care if McClellin is dirty or not. He won't be in the NFL very much longer.
  17. I was hoping the Lions would keep Jim Schwartz, but it's nice to see him get the boot.
  18. Watching the replay of the TD to Cobb, what a great job by Kuhn to come over and block Peppers, season saving block. If he doesn't pick that up, Peppers probably kills Rodgers. That throw by Rodgers was also amazing, running to your left to drop a ball 50 yards down field like that is amazing.
  19. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 11:38 AM) http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown...02557--nfl.html Peppers wasn't there. Briggs got a piece of Rodgers, but Rodgers went down himself before Briggs could get a full hit on him. Anyway, watch it and tell me Shea can actually avoid contact there. Yeah, Briggs not Peppers. Briggs didn't just get a piece of Rodgers, he tackled him and Shea comes over and falls on him. The play was right in front of him, he knew it was over. Like I said it wasn't the most vicious hit of all time, but he wanted to get a little extra hit on Rodgers. With the way the NFL protects QBs in this league, he should have known better.
  20. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 11:09 AM) By the letter of the rule it may have been a penalty, but forget the rule for just a second and look at reality. Shea is running full out right at Rodgers. Rodgers suddenly gives himself up and goes down. Someone of Shea's size and speed does not physically have the time to avoid contact. He did an admirable job by limiting the contact to what it was. It's not like Rodgers was in the process of throwing the ball or in the process of being tackled where Shea can recognize the situation as one where he needs to let up to avoid contact. Rodgers gave himself up suddenly. The rules protecting QBs have gotten so severe that QBs can actually game the system to create penalties when there is clearly no intent. I'm not saying that's what Rodgers was trying to do, but it was the net result. I'm pretty sure Peppers tackled him and then about 2 seconds later Shea comes over and lands on him. He wasn't going full speed, that's why it wasn't that hard of a hit, but he knew what he was doing.
  21. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 10:29 AM) that wasn't a pile-on What do you call jumping on a player after he has been tackled? He didn't do anything to crazy, but we all know what Shea had in mind when he jumped on Rodgers.
  22. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 10:08 AM) The unnecessary roughness call on Shea was a total crock of s*** too. I couldn't believe that. The Packers played better and ultimately deserved the win, but the refs called that game in favor of the Packers. The unnecessary roughness call was fine. If you think that you can just pile on a QB after the play is over, in this modern NFL, you haven't been paying attention. The NFL protects QB's to the max and I am fine with that. No one wants to watch a league full of Jason Campbell and Matt Flynn.
  23. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 10:06 AM) At the same time, the refs weren't calling any of the holding or delay penalties on the Packers, so I could give a s***. What holding calls did they miss?
  24. It doesn't matter, but on that Rodgers touchdown to Cobb, a cornerback for the Bears just flat out tackles Jordy Nelson about 12 yards down field. It would have been interesting had Cobb dropped that pass.
