  1. I hate the label "bust" for players who have their careers destroyed by injury. I also hate when fans blame players for their injuries. Like the player some how has any control on staying healthy. Football is brutal and multiple players get hurt every game.
  2. QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 7, 2017 -> 05:40 PM) https://theintercept.com/2017/09/06/sociali...cism-of-israel/ Popular young Democrat Carlos Ramirez-Rose forced off Daniel Biss's gubernatorial ticket after it is learned he is for the divestment of Israel and justice for Palestine. Not surprising from this party, but a cowardly move none the less.
  3. We are a nation of laws, Dammit!* *These laws do not apply to Joe Arpaio.
  4. @KamalaHarris 14h14 hours ago I intend to co-sponsor the Medicare for All bill because it’s just the right thing to do. Good news.
  5. It's probably not the smartest idea to put a former cult member and someone who was charged with conspiracy to commit murder twenty feet behind the President.
  6. Year seventeen is going to be it though, the Taliban are in trouble now. This is our year!
  7. Trump also pretty much announcing last night that we will be at war with Afghanistan forever. @MicahZenko Bottom line: Trump has now expanded US military presence and/or airstrikes in EVERY combat theater he inherited from Obama. War forever.
  8. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Aug 22, 2017 -> 08:13 AM) Great series of posts, CWS. People realize that "antifas" originated from skinhead culture, right? It used to be that skinheads and antifas ran in the same circles, with opposing beliefs. They'd go to Hardcore shows, get in fights with one another, then go grab some coffee together and talk about how cool being "edge" was. Both groups were equally violent, equally misguided, led by idiots that preyed on youth wanting something to believe in. The current political climate is a real indictment of the Democratic party. Here you have an idiot running the country. You have a motivated base. Yet, there's such a lack of leadership that they can't seize the opportunity. As a liberal, it's extremely frustrating to witness. The Equivalence Fallacies of some of the posters in this thread really aren't worth arguing. Justifying poor behavior by comparing it to worse behavior is how children argue. Literally. Antifa originated in 1930's Germany. Has been fighting against fascism literally from the start. The Lost History of Antifa I never meet anybody in antifa over the years that ran in the same circles as nazi skinheads.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 21, 2017 -> 02:37 PM) The difference is that you know Bush and Obama actually worked on vacation. Trump actually thinks the President gets days off and can check out like a factory worker. I don't really see Trump taking lots of time off as a bad thing. Less awful things he can get accomplished.
  10. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Aug 21, 2017 -> 11:56 AM) So the punishment for "being annoying" is now a mob beatdown! Great! Yeah, that crazy mob really "beat him down". They pushed him and told him to f*** off. A little rude, but hardly a beat down.
  11. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Aug 21, 2017 -> 10:58 AM) They tried to beat the guy up for literally nothing. Just a bunch of entitled/misguided white kids crusading because they have to believe in something. Dude was being annoying on purpose. The crowd reacted the way he wanted them to, so he could put his videos online.
  12. It's a fantasy show about another world that has dragons and frozen zombies and people are mad because they didn't properly explain how the frozen zombies got a chain. I could care less about any of the time stuff. As soon as those dragons show up to burn everything, I'm like "this is the greatest thing ever!"
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 18, 2017 -> 02:14 PM) but you are a packer fan so that makes you pretty close. now this Balbo stuff comes out and im not sure You have some valid points.
  14. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Aug 18, 2017 -> 01:52 PM) Yes, yes it definitely is. Renaming Balbo and publicly disgracing a decorated veteran on the side of the USA in one world war and who tried to stop his country from legal anti-Semitism and supporting Hitler is radical. Disgracing Chicago's Italian American community is radical. Everything about it is textbook radicalism. You are ISIS. Folks, I am not ISIS.
  15. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Aug 18, 2017 -> 01:24 PM) This kind of absolutism, which is probably informed by the same blithe ignorance the led bmags to ask what American WW2 veteran would think of honoring a man who dead and buried when Operation Torch began, is why I just cannot buy into these movements. I do not like Trump, nor Bannon, nor the marchers in Charlottesville. You do not either, I'm guessing. So why do you play into their hands like this? Why does everything get so crazy and over the top? You are shocked that people would prefer we didn't have monuments to fascists and people who fought for slavery? Is that such a radical thing to ask for?
  16. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Aug 18, 2017 -> 12:55 PM) Yea he was such a fascist that his plane was shot down by Italian anti aircraft guns after he spent almost a year very publicly opposing Hitler and the 3rd Reich. It was friendly fire. So, he opposed Hitler. Great. He was still a blackshirt.
  17. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Aug 18, 2017 -> 11:55 AM) He had nothing to do with Hitler's Germany. He begged his party to side with the UK instead of Hitler, and not long after when the North Africa campaign was just about to heat up his plane was shot down, perhaps by friendly fiire. Rotten political institutions are capable of housing decent, if not heroic, people. People who work within bad regimes to do the right thing deserve our respect and admiration even if their association with those regimes isnt acceptable today. The Confederate statues are one thing, this is another. Balbo was a fascist. They should take his monument and drop it to the bottom of the lake.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 06:14 PM) Its a decent analogy, except your choice of cable may also affect your friends ability to choose a provider or even be able to have a provider at all. The two party system blows, and the people trotting up there are awful. Now, in this case, many republicans hoped that Trump wouldnt be the guy he was on the campaign trail when he got into office, and that his staff would be competent enough to enact conservative policies that they believed in. Being that he turned out to be bats*** crazy with an almost inept staff, you are left holding the bag. Myself, I am a fiscal conservative but with a very liberal social agenda. I have yet to find ANY party that believes in what I believe in. You then have to choose if you think social issues or your own wallet are more important based on what we are presented today. Its f***ing terrible. I think that liberal social agenda and fiscal conservative party you are looking for is called the Democratic Party.
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 08:07 AM) I really doubt the accuracy of all of that first post. Yahoo comment sections as news unlikely to reward your intelligence. Yahoo comment sections are no longer a good source for news? Next thing you are gonna tell me is that they aren't good for medical advice either.
  20. QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 15, 2017 -> 09:47 AM) You just need to toughen up a little bit and live life with the understanding that not everyone lives in some progressive fantasy land like you. People judge others. Looks, earning power and other superficial factors play primary roles in who individuals decide to procreate with. Even with the problems in your viewpoint i think you'd be able to understand that. I only asked my wife to marry me with the clear understanding that she would have good earning power.
  21. QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 14, 2017 -> 09:13 PM) I am aware of what eugenics is. You posted a video that was a bunch of selectively edited clips of Trump over the last 20+ years and nowhere in there did he say the word Eugenics. A lot of what he said relating to genes was pretty much common sense. If you wanted to have an offspring who would grow up to be an influential and successful person would you rather have her mother be someone like say, Ivanka Trump, or would you prefer her mother be some random 25-year-old woman in Appalachia? I think the former would lead to an offspring with a better genetic profile. There is no shortage of material to malign Trump, you don't have to take these big leaps to do it. Would you rather have a child from a great rich person or a dirty poor.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 14, 2017 -> 03:53 PM) Maybe it's one of those tricks of memory, but I honestly think I remember watching the famous Tim Russert interview, or maybe it was just a parody on SNL. He got relatively close to becoming a U.S Senator.
  23. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 14, 2017 -> 09:21 AM) It's totally valid to push them to be better actors here, but if they were to cross that line of embracing conspiracies like you see from Jesse Waters, that's a line I'm not sure US can come back from. What is Jesse Waters saying?
  24. Honestly, I guess it is good that they are actually recognizing it as a white nationalist and Nazi rally. They have continually told us the "Alt-Right" isn't a white supremacist group. Hard to push that after a majority of that crowd is running around with Nazi arm bands and Fascist symbolism.
  25. Has any Republican called for Trump to remove Sebastian Gorka from his administration? He has open ties to Nazi groups. How about Miller and Bannon? Paul Ryan and can go on Twitter and say how sad it is about the events that happened over the weekend, but talk is cheap. Do something about it you coward.
