  1. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 20, 2007 -> 03:39 PM) Joe Crede doesn't have many games in a Sox uniform left Today's incident makes me even more angry he wasn't traded at peak value this offseason than I had been all season. He's injury prone and a below average hitter, and we could have got a kings ransom for last years career year. Ugh.
  2. QUOTE(29thandPoplar @ May 20, 2007 -> 03:39 PM) I agree with your thoughts and its only fair that Guillen gets some props for showing faith in the guy who is known to thrive in those spots, right? I could see both sides of it. Gut says A.J., numbers say Toby. I think he was kinda in a win/win there, although I admit I was wrong because I probably put Toby in. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 20, 2007 -> 03:41 PM) Except for yesterday and the day before, of course. Yep. If Thornton is used properly, we win this series if not sweep it.
  3. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 20, 2007 -> 03:30 PM) Everyone knows that if AJ struck out, we'd be calling for Ozzies head. But since he hits a grand slam, it was the right move. Props to you, SoxTalkers. I'd have still hit Toby, but hey it worked out well obviously. I would assume the A.J. in the clutch and he was teammates with Cotts and caught Cotts and Toby didn't and wasn't factors were taking into thought too.
  4. Wow was that fast. And LOL at the Cano play yesterday, that throw off his foot was better than the throw Jacque made though.
  5. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 20, 2007 -> 03:30 PM) RALLY PROTON ACCELERATOR I'm in.
  6. NOW we waste a Thornton outing when we're up 8. Figures.
  7. Crede with tightness in his lower back. Josh Fields, your plane is now boarding.
  8. BTW, this is our first double digit run game all year. Amazing.
  9. QUOTE(29thandPoplar @ May 20, 2007 -> 03:28 PM) In that situation, with all the emotion and knowing how AJP thrives on that kind of stuff, you let him hit. Yes I understand the %'s and Toby can hit, but seems to me this board is on Ozzie's behind about the lefty/righty stuff, no? Anyway it worked out so we can all be happy! Yeah I am being too numbers oriented with A.J., he does thrive in those moments. That was still pathetic baserunning by Erstad though. Glad we aren't getting swept, but realistically we should either have 2 or 3 or a sweep for ourselves in the bag right now.
  10. LOL, what was that throw???? Lou is pulling an Ozzie here. Bring in the relief pitcher against his ex team (bad move), leave him out there until the game is completely lost (worse move). I love it though, at least we aren't getting swept.
  11. Cotts is so bad. But again, why do people put pitchers in against their ex team ever? It's a freaking hex, and the managers around baseball aren't learning either.
  12. Why on earth are pitchers so bad against their former teams? It's been amazing to see all over baseball this year in that regard. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ May 20, 2007 -> 03:26 PM) I just don't understand why anyone puts in a pitcher to face their former team from last year. It happened with Aardsma earlier now with Cotts. Beat me to it.
  13. You have got to be kidding me. Erstad can't run the bases, we get pansted the Lee move again, we somehow DON'T pinch hit Hall for Pierzynski with a lefty out there, and a grand slam. It is just our day, I can't believe how lucky we are, lol.
  14. Barrett Pierzynski's that pitch. Nice job advancing Darin. The 37 year old with a bad hammy moves to the easier base to throw to, but you can't get to 2nd. ha.
  15. Wow, an impressive streak of luck there, as the duck snort drops. *Waits for barrage of Erstad boners to swoon in*
  16. Why on earth would he not walk him here 3-2 with the runner in motion and the out machine on deck? And he listens to me, there's the walk. That should be it for this inning.
  17. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ May 20, 2007 -> 03:12 PM) There were quite a few people calling for Masset to be pulled with good reason. I wouldn't have brought in Sisco but we don't know everything about who's available, why or why not, etc. etc. so I'm not going to crucify him for bringing in Sisco. That's the last time I'll talk to you about baseball though as your nonsense has become unbearable If you want Sisco vs. D Lee instead of Masset against Ward, you are a fan of the wrong Chicago team based on said logic. And that didn't hit Uribe I don't think, even though I also think he WAS trying to hit him. Uh oh.....look who is on deck.
  18. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ May 20, 2007 -> 03:05 PM) I would imagine there's some good reason why Sisco was in there instead of Thornton or someone else. Besides, it was time to pull Masset at that point. Some people need to calm down. I'd MUCH rather have a tired Masset against Ward then any Sisco against Derrek Lee. If you don't agree you and Ozzie can be on the same dunce cap baseball boat. Sisco and Aardsma are reverting to the form that had me not even wanting them on the team out of spring traning. I hate regression to the means, but it's happening to those 2.
  19. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 20, 2007 -> 03:04 PM) No f***ing s***. How does he get burned by DLee pinch hitting 2 days in a f***ing row? Well I was going to say it as soon as we took out Masset since it was obvious it was happening AGAIN, but I figured I'd get jumped on for being too negative. And you don't bring Sisco in with runners all over, because he'll throw a wild one to let them advance/score. It's just incredibly stupid.
  20. Why do people defend our manager? He gets owned on the D Lee vs. lefty thing AGAIN instead of leaving Masset in, and he brings in the human wild pitch with runners all over the place. He's not the worst manager in the game on accident everybody.
  21. Great, single ties it now. There is the wild pitch I called, at least it didn't give them a run like I figured.
  22. QUOTE(fathom @ May 20, 2007 -> 02:59 PM) Great job by Masset.....but this is setting up to be a carbon copy of that game two years ago. Pull McCarthy in almost same spot, and guy hits a 3 run homer. The wind isn't turning a pop up into a 3 run homer like it did that day, but I thought the same thing. Will Ozzie get owned for the 2nd day in a row? You could see this coming.
  23. The 6 inning streak ends on Dye's misplay, nice.
  24. The wind first kept it from being a homer, then turned it into a triple. Wow.
