  1. They really handeled tonight piss poor. They could have easily started this thing at 8:30 or 9, and they add on by scheduling the makeup game for a Monday afternoon in late August, a date and time in which nobody is going to show up, AND it means we have a stretch during that time of 19 games in 19 days now. A lot of people got screwed tonight, that's for sure, and it's a darn shame.
  2. I'm a lot more concerned with how Danks pitches than who he faces. As we saw up until his last 3 starts, Danks can't control the run support he gets, only how he pitches, and he pitches well even if he gets no help.
  3. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 26, 2007 -> 12:03 PM) Leave it to you to try and find something negative in a good team win. It nearly turned from a good team win to a good team loss because of that asinine move. We aren't good enough offensively to play childish beanball games yet (although I thought yesterday might have been as good an offensive game as we've had all year, first time we've hit a really good pitcher really hard in 2007). QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 26, 2007 -> 08:08 AM) Drilling the #9 hitter in the line-up to bring up Dukes as the tying run would be pretty stupid if it was intentional. It would have been debatably intentional if not for the fact it was pretty obvious he tried to hit him with the first 2 pitches before succeding with the 3rd and getting a warning for it. If it's anybody but me posting how stupid it was, it is agreed with. However agreeing with me is siding with the devil
  4. Good to see Ozzie hasn't changed. We played our cute little macho game tonight and it nearly cost us a win, and it DID cost Buehrle win #100 of his career. However other than that blaring bit of ignorance, nice win tonight. Let's get a series win tomorrow and hope we can finally finish off a sweep.
  5. LeBron, meet A-Rod. A-Rod, LeBron. I think we have a match. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 24, 2007 -> 01:40 PM) Horford's probably the top non-Oden/Durant guy I only pray would drop to the Bulls. What he said.
  6. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ May 25, 2007 -> 12:19 AM) Surprised it took you this long. Do YOU think a convicted felon and jailbird should be playing basketball and getting a free education at the University of Illinois? I don't. The Daily Illini reported this: This guy is Josh Hancock without the tow truck and the dumbass father, but WITH a passenger that almost died and still is battling concussion problems. I'll pass.
  7. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ May 24, 2007 -> 10:48 PM) Its lookin like we should've traded Crede this off-season when healthy and his trade value was high. Fields has improved his fieldeing and his k's are high, but he makes up for it with a great walk rate. Well everybody knew that, Crede's margin couldn't get higher than it was last offseason AND Fields is ready. Kenny's biggest mistake as GM might end up being not dumping Crede, we could have got something really nice to help that OF situation for him I bet. Oh, and Gio is good, and nice to see Sweeney and BA hitting.
  8. http://www.news-gazette.com/news/local/200...ter_guilty_plea 2 weeks in jail, 2 years probation, 800 bucks in fines, a bevy of community service. He actually got off quite easy considering he could have got 10 years. Well the inevitable conviction of a felony and jail time is now official, I hope I'm wrong thinking it's inevitable, as it has been for a while, that the Illini basketball team will have a convicted felon on it next year after a certain suspension. Bruce has officially lost me forever if this guy isn't kicked off the team. It's one thing to struggle recruiting (which he seems to be getting better at), but lack of institutional control can't happen (although a lot of this goes to Guenther for letting Bruce do it too).
  9. QUOTE(Brian @ May 22, 2007 -> 08:00 PM) Boston may have been throwing games to get the #1 pick and they don't even end up with a top 3. Ouch. Karma was a real b**** to Memphis and Boston. Don't throw games, kids. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 22, 2007 -> 10:01 PM) I don't see anyway Portland trades down. If they do they are f***tards. Jack Roy Randolph Aldridge Oden *hides*
  10. QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ May 22, 2007 -> 10:01 PM) I was there! That game was badass! As was I, hence I remember it off the top of my head.
  11. That's 3 home runs in 2 plus innings off of Rich Hill. By the Padres. At night. At PETCO. This looks like the Rich Hill pre 2nd half of 2006.
  12. Wow, Mike Cameron just hit a home run about a half dozen rows into the upper deck in left center field at PETCO. I wasn't even sure that was possible.
  13. QUOTE(premo @ May 22, 2007 -> 01:58 PM) I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned anythign about this, but with all the concern about the hitting, in 2005, I don't think any of our starters batted over .300 for the season. We also never had a teamwide slump that was 1/100th like the one we suffered from opening day until Saturday. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 22, 2007 -> 02:02 PM) and the Sox scored the 9th most runs in the AL; that's worse than mediocre We were 14th entering tonight. As we start to hit better, then you can resume the 2005 comparisons.
  14. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ May 22, 2007 -> 09:50 PM) Holy crap, I just realized something. Aren't we 4-1 against the A's this year? Well we did sweep them here last year thanks to the homer by Mack off Huston Street. Might as well do it again.
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 22, 2007 -> 09:46 PM) B-Mac has had 3 very good starts in a row, he has a blister in his hand now or something but he was really turning it around. In the end I think this can be a good trade for both teams. Probably a little better for us though. Danks is left handed and projects better than McCarthy anyways. If Masset is anything, it's a brutal robbing as is without Masset. The whole reason Texas made the trade is Brandon was ready now, and Danks and Masset supposedly weren't, and that logic is not going so well.
  16. Sisco sucks at life, Gooch was bad at the plate, and Ozuna at 3rd is a nightmare. Everything else possible went well though, so a very good night. FINISH OFF A SWEEP FOR ONCE guys.
  17. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 22, 2007 -> 09:44 PM) It wouldn't be Bukvich. Prinz is the only non 40 man guy that it could be. Vasquez has be stout, as well as Reynoso to a lesser extent. I'm aware, but I'd rather see you in than Sisco right now.
  18. That better not prevent us from sending this loser to AAA. If it'd have got him to AAA if he had walked Swisher and Jenks had to come in to get a fast out, I'd have rather seen that almost. Great game otherwise though!!
  19. D.J. specifically says the term "roster change"....Andrew is in trouble.
  20. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ May 22, 2007 -> 09:40 PM) what's in your avy? RALLY PROTON ACCELERATOR
  21. Somebody get Carlos Vasquez on a plane, or Bret Prinz, or Ryan Bukvich....anybody.
  22. QUOTE(knightni @ May 22, 2007 -> 09:33 PM) He plays excellent error-free ball in center. He wanted Danks to get some extra practice grinding through a tough spot, so that error was made on purpose. This is all part of the grinder plan.
  23. I think Sisco is the one guy that universally we can agree needs to go to Charlotte for a while.
  24. We should have the middle relief pretend they are always up 7. And wow they have hit a lot of atom balls tonight.
  25. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 22, 2007 -> 09:22 PM) Carmona out after 70 pitches 47 for strikes through 6 innings. After 70 pitches?! Is he hurt?! Oh, and good question by Hurt about the rotation. I have no clue either. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 22, 2007 -> 09:27 PM) Because of the spot start, Danks is now between Count and Garland. Danks for the clarification.
