  1. Good thing he didn't walk....if so, we'd have 2 walks tonight, and they would be by Crede and A.J. Hell freezing over would not be a good thing. 1st pitch groundout to 3rd for Joe, 2 outs.
  2. My point was moreso.....Jeter in 2004 had an 0 for 37 slump, and the fans in NY STILL loved him. Can you imagine what they'd do to A-Rod if he had that kind of slump?
  3. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:41 PM) That comes with makin' 25 million a year. Jeter makes 20 million a year, is a lousy defender, and isn't nearly the player A-Rod is.....yet he doesn't get nearly as much crap. And actually, the Yankees pay Jeter more than they do A-Rod since Texas pays a lot of the contract still.
  4. Giambi with the popout to center. GREAT JOB MATT THORNTON!!!
  5. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:40 PM) Good to know chisoxfn made a surprise visit for the ballgame tonight.
  6. A-Rod knocked the crap outta that one......2 outs.
  7. I thought it was a lock that the Abreu vs. Thornton matchup would lead to a quick walk. But nope, Abreu hits into a 6-3 for the big first out. Great job there Mattie.
  8. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:34 PM) It's amazing how BMac can do no wrong, even when he does wrong. His ERA is over 4 and pretty much everyone still acts like the sun shines out of his arse. He certainly hasn't pitched like an ace-to-be this season. There's lots of trouble in the rotation, but BMac doesn't fill me with confidence that he'd fix it. He's been very good for a guy that's better than all but 1, maybe 2 of our starters, should be in the rotation, and has never pitched out of the pen in his life.
  9. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:33 PM) Liriano *might* be done for 06. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2546166 I thought that news was released like a week ago? Why is ESPN acting as if it's breaking. And the only way he's not out for the year is if they are willing to risk his future to try and make the playoffs now, so in a way I hope he comes back.
  10. QUOTE(PA32R @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:33 PM) of what? Being a bad pitcher.
  11. Not sure why Thome hasn't been stealing here yet. Gotta play Ozzieball!!
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:27 PM) Who's killed more grass tonight? Jim Thome or Freddy Garcia? Freddy, he's trying to get over the fact he's going to be traded. Although we can't trade him, after all like Ozzie says, B-Mac isn't bleeping Cy Young or anything.
  13. D.J. after that play said "3 times today Thome has hit that grounder to SS". Just another subtlety that is the great Darrin Jackson. He sees things nobody else does.
  14. Proctor has thrown like 200 innings in like 100 appearances out of their pen. Ok not that much, but his workload for a bullpen guy has been obnoxious. Thome hits into a 4-6 fielders choice. Good hustle to avoid the double play at least. And more grass on the way towards 2nd base is killed by Jim *sighs*.
  15. Gooch with a leadoff single. Thatta boy!! Now, uber LOOGY Myers faces Thome in a close and late spot. This will go well I'm sure....(not).
  16. Inning over, phew. Somebody build the 3 out effing bridge to Jenks. If they can, we're through the extremly painful part of their lineup. It's all about the top of the 8th. But for now, get some effin runs.
  17. Well, that was hit pretty hard. It's down to 5-4, I guess Ozzie was right about this bum B-Mac. After all, none of our starters give up homers.
  18. Pods caught stealing, I'm shocked at that development. In other news, things are blowing up like hell in the middle east.
