I applaud your outside the box thinking and originality but as you witnessed here on this forum, your idea would be shouted down by the masses. People fear change of any kind so they'd rather go with a flawed system than to change to what might be better in the long run. Uncertainty and the unknown are infinitely more scary than status quo. Need more original thoughts in this world.

Including the four "mediocre" appearances: 1) Apr 7 vs Cle - entered the game losing. 2) Jun 12 vs Cubs - gave up 1 run, made it closer, got the save anyway. 3) Jul 5 vs LAA - entered the game winning 9-1, gave up one run. 4) Jul 18 @ Min - gave up 1 in that 8-7 win, got the save anyway. I'd call the non-save 2 of those non-factors. The Minny and Cubs games were made sweatacular, but that's what closers do - they still ultimately save the games, and those were rival situations. ^^^^^^Thank You

The hyperbole on this thread is hilarious; Teahen is a colossal mistake, Teahen is not a 3rd baseman, only 1 GM had to have Teahen and he wasnt from Detroit. Let's clear up this stream of misinformation that is on this thread. 1st- Contract extension was done to buy up Teahen's Arb years and is a good move and saves the club money in the long run. 2nd- Teahen's struggles were not as bad as Beckham, Ramirez, Vizquel, Jones, Quentin or Kotsay when he was injured and most if not all have turned their seasons around, why doesn't he get a chance to prove himself before the masses throw him outta town?

I'm glad all the Teahen haters have given him enough time to be hated and didn't jump to any rash decisions about him

I'm tried of people saying "you can give up (fill in the blank) because he is one of the Sox top prospects". Name me one that has gone on to do what the experts projected him to do. I'm waiting... Trade Danks 2 or Viciedo or Hudson or Beckham or any prospect if its gonna get the Sox into the playoffs this year.
