QUOTE(bmags @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 06:00 PM) kinda sucks that any lighter upbeat sounding electronic is gonna be compared to M83 while any darker, grainier electronic is gonna be compared to Boards of Canada but i see what you are saying. I think he did a damn good job, i mean isn't this his debut? Plus i think that record label is an up and comer... You insult me. I meant the specific sounds were similar to e.g. "Run Into Flowers", specifically the c c c c c c c a a a a a a b b b b type of synth intros, and then the way halfway into the track it kinda goes "balls out" with some crashing drums. I know enough IDM to be a little more specific with my comparisons. I just liked NF's singles better than the album. FWIW I've been following Border Community since their first release and have a pic of James Holden as my pic on last.fm. Speaking of which I'm waiting until I have a bit of cash to put in an order with React Music--his latest double mix cd and Miss Kittin's.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 02:41 PM) Does anyone know if you can purchase headphones that allow you to control the volume on each side independently? Does such a thing exist?? I remember big bulky ones from the Library music room that had separatevolume controls foe each ear. I would think radio shack sells a 1/8th inch female to male balance control.

QUOTE(bmags @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 10:20 AM) definitely... have you heard nathan fake's album? I did cop it, yes. I was a bit disappointed to be honest. Thought the non-dance tracks (most of them) were a bit formulaic, and not necessarily an original formula--sounded a bit like M83 to me. I'm sure the remix joint is good though.

Not that anyone cares (I wanted to help the original poster with his question first) but I have gone away from the earbud route for fear of tinnitus. I use some Sennheiser noise cancellers (PXC-150) and while the battery pack thingy is a bit annoying they sound awesome with good bass and non-harsh treble. I got em for $70 on buy.com. I know, I know, you're very proud of me. Just sharin'. Damn, off 100! Can I delete a post to go back?

Actually this raises an interesting point. Sometimes you see the distances reported in the game recaps, which leads me to believe there's a semi-official stat kept somewhere. MLB could probably generate some additional fan interest if it kept track of this stat and you could compare your favorite players by not just home runs but total distance, etc. Just some idle musing for my 100th post!!!

You gon' have to go through the box scores dawg.

If the apple store won't hook you up there's always ebay. Here's a link to a search result from their new fixed-price store.

The sad thing is Logan's ERA will still be in the 3's and his opponents BA fairly low. Funny how stats work sometimes.

QUOTE(SnB @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 11:33 PM) glad someone got it I got it. You are so dead, dude.

Boone Logan rocks. I still have faith he will blossom if we give him several more chances in key situations.

DAMMIT GUYS SAVE SOME. HOrrible managing job by Ozzie.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 10:47 PM) save some fellas. FWIW I disproved the "save some" theory a couple years ago. After a big scoring game the Sox are just as likely to score a lot as a little.

Yes I'm padding my post count but is it me or have we already had more laughers so far this season than all of last season?

This is the at-bat of the season so far.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 10:33 PM) What an asshole. He should be reading a book on how to improve as a pitcher. Why do you insist on being such a needle?
-
QUOTE(WCSox @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 12:00 PM) Yes, that's what I was referring to. Sorry I wasn't more explicit. I have been duly chastened. I blame BigSqwert for feeding me that stat yesterday.

QUOTE(WCSox @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 11:09 AM) Last night was a good time to rest the starters. We were riding an 8-game winning streak and never hit Moyer well anyway.Actually he's 6-9 vs. the Sox career, with an only-slightly-above-average ERA of 4.21. Hardly Sox-pwnage.
