  1. It's just a great looking arm
  2. Nix was out b/c the plate was blocked. Thats another thing. You arent just betting against Ichiro's great arm. You're hoping for a slight bobble, a poorly blocked plate. Just in theory you have some chances there that are worth trying to exploit. besides thome flied out so now we know it didnt matter /green
  3. QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 10:18 PM) I understand that. Regardless Ichiro had all of his momentum coming right towards home plate, he set himself up perfectly, not to mention he has one of the best arms from right field. Cox should have known that, I understand it's King Felix, and I understand you try to force the issue in games like this, but there was no point to sending him there. He was a long gone. I want to say Ichiro had a defensive blunder earlier in this series You obviously cant bet on Ichiro being off with his throw, but you also need to think about Thome's %chances of getting a hit off Felix. or % chance of walk followed by hit
  4. QUOTE (rockren @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 10:16 PM) Hawk initially thought it was enough...but then quickly corrected himself and yelled NOOOO when Nix tagged hawk and santo need to do an interleague game together one time.
  5. QUOTE (WCSox @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 10:16 PM) It wasn't deep enough, and it's not like we haven't been able to get hits off of "King Felix" tonight. I feel our ability to get runs off Felix tonight has been highly suspect, in that we have zero of them.
  6. Ichiro's a great thrower but against an ace you take your chances when you've got em. Out of a 100 times how often is he out on that? He wasnt out by a mile
  7. Gordo really looking to walk lately. Very smart building off the early buzz by building a little rep
  8. Nice play Becks. We need the gloves and the pitching tonight, no question
  9. There goes the pitch count problem. Also we are not hitters i dont wanna know where this K count is going to end up
  10. anyone saying that about cq cannot seriously have been watching games recently. epic fail man stranded runners really brings out the attack dogs
  11. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 09:45 PM) If Rios gets off to a slow start the fans will turn on him faster than you can say Orlando Cabrera. but people here love a defensive cf with limited offensive abilities not that i think he'll be that, but worst case scenario of course
  12. Aardsma kinda looks like an elongated Aaron (rowand)
  13. Wow, the zone shrank for a second. makeup call? not that it makes it up
  14. not to sound like hawk but that was pretty horses***
  15. and...maybe he's not a 2 man that is really taking the bat out of our best hitter's hands.
  16. Why do fans boo pickoff attempts? And for gods sake why are the booing a completed pickoff? I have never understood that. Are they booing Buehrle? should boo their guy
  17. Great atbat kotsay irrational fear time: they dump thome because they're so confident in kotsay's LH bat spelling people. ok now back to the game
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 07:55 PM) I live out of state and don't listen to those goofs. I will grant that Boers is extremely weird and bad even for an older man
  19. that might be a reference to boers & bernstein often playing a clip of Marcus Fizer saying this word
  20. Pods has no arm, CQ has an arm but rarely gets behind his throws, and cant hit cutoff men to save his life. Pods at the very least can get to balls, CQ has been really hobbled out there. It's been noticeable. It's kinda like, do you prefer s*** or s*** with chocolate sauce topping...but i have to say Pods or Rios must be the RF, and i'd prefer Pods depending on pitcher/park
  21. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 06:21 PM) Pods still in CF is just stupid. Rios should be there. Who do you put in RF?
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 05:51 PM) Nix against Felix? WTF?! Nix has been getting on base, and also when Dye sits you could use a power infusion I was surprised to read Nix has a HR every 18 atbats, nearing Thome's team lead (with every 14). Oddly enough Getz has hit lefties better than righties this year. His OBP against righties still beats Nix's by 24pts but I suppose Jayson's pop offsets that. Nix has 12 RBIs vs righties in 65 atbats
  23. I cant believe people are expressing shock that dye sitting would mean Pods in CF, Rios in RF Coming from Ozzie's track record, that was easier to telegraph than a Chad Hutchinson pass
