  1. Soxtalk admins should just post this and lock the forum.
  2. Just a sample size of one but Tauchman has a career isoD of like 1. He's a patient hitter and batting eye doesn't age as quickly as other tools. As long as he can hit 240 he'll have good value. The Sox are not a team that values batting eye in general, been this way since the early aughts, and it's a problem.
  3. OPS+ in his 6 war season: 104 OPS+ this year: 52. So he'll still be worth three, right, right?
  4. Eloy: no value, would get like a PTBNL and a A baller. Robert: needs to rehab value and prove he's healthy so no point in even talking about this until that (hopefully) happens by mid summer. Moncada: no value, better player than Eloy but with contract situation, no surplus value. Fedde: might get a legit top 100 prospect for him if you package him with Wilson or something. Kopech: no value. Rest of team: no real value. We have the worst collection of MLB "talent" possibly ever assembled and the record reflects it. Maybe with Robert and Moncada healthy we'd have two more wins. We'd still be historically awful. We're not going to jumpstart any sort of rebuild with these guys.
  5. A lot of this is papered over by having a strong, trusted personality at manager. The Sox haven't had one since early Ozzie. It's been a series of weak leaders, over the hill leaders, or in Ricky's case, a good clubhouse guy that was clueless tactically and nobody else has bothered to hire since the Sox canned him.
  6. 96 wRC+ for the league now. 33%K rate is a problem but the power is there and still walking a lot at 12.5%. Hard to say how much of the average is contact problems and how much is bad luck. Probably a bit of both but you love seeing the power the last couple weeks. Those EVs are rare from anybody, let alone a guy that will probably be a below average defensive SS or above average 3B.
  7. This team is the doom loop virus. Infects all.
  8. and our fat middle aged ball boys will have to put on the football pads.
  9. I think it's more ID'ing the guys that will be good character and good workers early than anything else. Kopech had plenty of character and demeanor concerns when he came over. Only so much you can do coaching wise to try and fix a knucklehead.
  10. Keep this loser tryhard dork far away from them kids.
  11. He's also a top 20 prospect in all of MLB. I'm not panicking, but at the same time he's off to a bit of a slow start. If he's still hitting 210 in AAA this time next year we got a problem.
  12. If he thinks things are bad on May 1st, wait until our own fans are yelling much worse stuff than the "sportscasters" come summer. It's going to get really ugly.
  13. Yep. Real hitters.
  14. That's three extra bases on Shields in RF today.
  15. Fucking clown show. Get some god damn athletes on this team please.
  16. When is the last time we had a ball hit 102 into the power alley oppo?
  17. We are loaded at catcher in the system. GET RID OF MALDONADO!
  18. Getz wanted to win some games 4-3, with this defense and bullpen? Not going to happen. De Bong has had some horrific errors.
  19. That's brutal man.
  20. No idea why you'd throw him another off speed pitch, but we'll take it.
  21. Nice start Flexen.
  22. He's a competent starting big leaguer. That's cause for excitement around here but I don't think anybody is really too happy he's one of our best players.
  23. It's funny Pham is the type of guy we should have signed last year and prior.
  24. He has a hose. If he hits at all, he's a 2 WAR catcher.
