  1. I was going to ask about this: can you guys do more thread merging? It seems the board is as busy as it's been in years and too much concurrent discussion is happening.
  2. Not sure I like this new format. That said, all I want is for Gio to start.
  3. Think his opinion on Moncada is a bit ill informed, especially when he in the next breath he mentions Eloy's advanced plate control as a huge long term plus. Moncada is a very unique hitter. He's 11th in avg exit velocity, just a tick below guys like Schwarber and Yelich and coupled with his elite speed allows him a massive 379 BABIP. That will regress a bit but not too much, he should be able to produce BABIPs in the 330-360 range in his prime. His walk rate is down to 7% but I'd expect it to go back up next year as pitcher's start to work around him. His power is starting to become well known. Law says Moncada will be an above average regular but he's already a borderline star even with the growing pains. If he finishes this season with 4+ WAR the sky is the limit for him in 3-4 years as he matures mentally. He could be a 6 WAR player which would certainly mean he lived up to his prospect billing.
  4. He was probably playing through it and after the pain and soreness got too bad got a scan and they discovered the tear. You can do some athletic shit with a torn labrum, Rashan Gary has been playing football with one for a couple years.
  5. Perhaps, but the Sox haven't exactly been able to produce 5 WAR 3B either. If Madrigal does turn out to be a solid regular and Moncada keeps up the glovework at 3B then things will work out nicely for once.
  6. Hope so, just know he's had issues in the past. His social media deletion is odd. Hopefully just frustration with his injuries.
  7. it's a nasty drug. over prescribed IMO. Easy to get hooked even when taken for legit therapeutic reasons. hope he isn't relapsing.
  8. He had a problem with adderal right?
  9. 28th in fWAR now for all qualified hitters at 2.1. A tick behind Acuna Jr who has 2.2. The talent at 3B in MLB right now is pretty crazy. Moncada is 28th in MLB in fWAR but is 10th among 3B!
  10. Don't understand how Adams fell off the map so quickly but it happens to young pitchers he is now throwing at around 90 on his fastball no?
  11. holy shit nice job castillo catching that.
  12. OK Eloy put respeckt on your name.
  13. lol abreu meatball double play ball turned into an error. thanks KC.
  14. another pitcher goes down, lord.
  15. lol 6 Ks, who cares about the baserunner!
  16. Going on 2 months looking like a top 5 pitcher in MLB. Obviously nothing is guaranteed but yea be excited.
  17. This guy is going to dominate the Sox today, isn't he? Mercy.
