  1. Crazy how this would be opening weekend and I'd be hyped through the roof and now it's hardly even a thought in the back of my mind. Sports are important, until they're not.
  2. For sure. I don't think the season will be cancelled but everybody that sat on their ass for two months and then has to go into camp again in May isn't going to be in peak readiness by June.
  3. I love it. It's actually MORE in depth than OOTP IMO. I have FM 16 and have waited on buying a newer one because of match engine problems. Those seem to have been completely resolved in FM 20. I will be buying 20 when it goes on Steam sale as it usually does in summer. If you like soccer at all (or you like management sims) you'll easily get hundreds of hours out of it.
  4. I just won the Championship title with Wolves in FM 16. We are going to struggle to stay up but with the right transfers we will.
  5. This virus isn't jack shit for most healthy Americans. My god can you imagine if it wasn't? This is a dry run for a real nightmare. Might be a blessing that way. Still shaking my head that Dr. Birx called on "millenials" to fix this today and asked us to stop going to bars. Hey, Doc, we aren't Gen Z! We are mostly 30 somethings now! We sure as shit ain't on IG licking toilet bowls for the "#coronaviruschallenge" That's on Gen Z. You know all those kids that were partying it up this weekend in Boston, NYC and elsewhere for St Patty's day. You think 30 somethings are out doing that? Well maybe you do since you're 63 yourself.
  6. complete failure of leadership at every level. This is overboard and will do more harm than good. It's one thing to shut down public venues and gathering spaces. It's another to tell someone they can't go get their car fixed or get a cup of coffee to go.
  7. Trump is doing better than Boris. let that fucking sink in.
  8. I have two thoughts, one is a positive one is negative. 1) I think the virus, for most healthy people, is about as impactful as a cold. Maybe less. So let's hope that's the case and that we are much deeper into this spread (by a few weeks) than we think and are already close to the peak of the infection curve. 2) As a SB owner I'm completely in the dark right now. I can't tell folks if I will be open tmr. There is no guidance. Our governor Inslee is MIA this week. Cali is closing all "non essenttial" businesses. So is Washington? If so, when? What can I tell my clients. It's so frustrating to be led by a completely inept federal government. This is what folks in the Soviet Union dealt with for decades and still are. It wears on you.
  9. because there's no fucking testing dude. it's that simple. christ, it's like wondering why you couldn't really measure MLB defense before any sort of objective standard. what I've read is that it's pretty hard to actually spread the disease despite the long period of being contagious. You need aerosol drops in the face. So wash hands, avoid intimate contact in public, and don't fucking touch your face. When possible, avoid crowds. If you can, work from home. Blah blah blah. We'll be good in a few months. Listen to the scientists.
  10. tens of thousands probably have it because the lead time on symptoms is in healthy young people 3-10 days. this virus is roughly 10 times more fatal than the flu overall and kills (best guess) about 10% of people over 70. Healthy young people 4 in 2000 cases will die. That still kinda sucks. so yea we need to make sure this infects 50-70 million and not 150. So far people seem to realize that.
  11. gotta kinda laugh at the irony, at least if you're under 60. you got a bunch of dinos running, not just for prez but also in congress and worldwide, and here comes the virus! every worldwide industry affected. mount everest is officially closed and it's prime climbing season. mother nature is taking some scalps it appears. flatten the curve and hopefully we can come back wiser in 3-4 months in the US. here in seattle stores are still stocked and everything, I mean, it's not that bad and people are taking precautions.
  12. If you start playing games and players infect each other the union is going to shut it down anyways.
  13. Agree but I'm at the epicenter and life is going on. Seattle is getting a handle on it. Rest of country will too, with or without Federal leadership.
  14. Honeslty I'm already over it. It's like when you get hurt or something, after the initial "woe is me shit" all you want to do is work each day to get better as quickly as possibly. Cancelling all this shit now will allow the season to happen in early summer. It will be worth it.
  15. lol sounds like a bernie bro.
  16. yea I can't even begin to comment on sports right now. it's all not going to happen. flatten the curve everyone.
  17. Fred Hoiberg is a fucking idiot same as Gobert. The NCAA tourney will be cancelled.
  18. Yea and that's why we're better than China. But seriously fuck Gobert.
  19. Rudy Gobert should be suspended forever. He's positive for corona.
  20. @lane MLB will be cancelled in short order. Maybe it will be back in May. We can all hope.
  21. He is. I'm listening now, he's asking good questions but letting the Doc guide the conversation.
  22. Not a huge Joe Rogan fan (he's all over the place) but I'm very glad he did that because there are people that otherwise won't listen that will listen to him.
  23. That's true but transmission isn't that likely as long as Cooper washes his hands frequently and avoids intimate contact with his players. Might have to avoid some spittle laced conversations.
  24. There are common sense things people can do to stop touching each other and last night I got frustrated because at the store the clerk INSISTED on physically touching my ID rather than just looking at it. She was not a day older than 25, had purple hair and was insistent that "state law" required her to scan it. Yea that's bullshit you can walk into any venue in Seattle and the bouncer simply looks at your ID. There is no scan requirement. Management has to get on top of this for grocery stores. Clerks like this on little power trips will infect and kill people.
