  1. They basically bet on TA being a 1.5 WAR player and that's so far about what he's been. Hahn is fine at negotiating pre-arb extensions. It's the one thing you could say he's actually good at. But he has brutal weaknesses elsewhere.
  2. how about 50 cents now and 25 cents in a few months?
  3. The weather every April matches the mood and feel around this team. It's uncanny.
  4. Zero percent chance. He's the shining jewel of their next good team, which is possibly this year based on some of the early returns.
  5. sporting a cool 100 wRC+ at the moment, which is almost certainly about 30 points higher than McCann will finish with. As I said, I'm not a huge Omar guy, his framing sucked to the point where it took away his shiny OBP from the C spot but replacing him with McCann and netting a veteran reliever for the trouble is just the sort of "meh" move that Hahn makes over and over again.
  6. Not a fan of Narvaez as a starter but he has been absolutely tearing it up in Seattle. That trade looks like ass as well given the situation at catcher.
  7. Then be honest about it with the fans not this bullshit they fed us after about "competitive offer". There is literally NOTHING redeeming about this FO and ownership group. NOTHING.
  8. All the more reason to strike while the iron is hot, sign a big time 6 WAR 3B and get on with it. So frustrating!
  9. Great post, speaking of guys that he traded away, Marcus Semien is now a legit 3.5 WAR SS. Fucking shit man. Like, I'm alright with TA but trading away Tatis Jr and Semien in a three year span is criminal.
  10. It's legit scary looking at Hahn's FA record and then hoping almost every single prospect in the top 20 pans out so they don't have to sign any. Does anybody have any confidence in this FO's ability to bring quality 1-2 WAR vets when the time comes? Hell no. We'll continue to have huge craters on the roster and it's incredibly hard to win with replacement level guys. The Sox teams of the 90s and early aughts rarely had negative WAR position players. Since 2008 or something it's an annual tradition.
  11. He had periods of dead arm but nothing like this and it stretches back to last season.
  12. David Schoenfield: "Chris Sale is done after four innings, seven hits, five runs, three strikeouts and 76 pitches. He did get 11 swinging strikes, an improvement over his last start, but his average fastball velocity of 91.8 mph remained below last year's levels (even comparing to April, when his four-seam fastball averaged 93.4 mph). Here's the scary note: It took 83 pitches this season before Sale got a swing-and-miss on his fastball"
  13. They have massive structural disadvantages and yet still produce a competitive team more often than not. Wish I was a rays fan honestly. Tired of the Sox' BS.
  14. The Bulls have made some decent moves lately it's really no comparison to the White Sox FO. Garpax is probably a slightly worse than average NBA FO. Hahn and KW are easily bottom 5 in MLB, probably bottom 3. White Sox, Marlins and Cinci might be the bottom 3.
  15. I've said this for years and it's designed intentionally to make pinning blame impossible for fans.
  16. Stone made a corny joke early in that game and Jason gave him some guff and I still am trying to figure out if Jason was being serious or not. I probably would have given him the benefit of the doubt if we hadn't heard Jason make every fucking corny joke in the book the last two years with zero sense of restraint.
  17. So as soon as Eloy gets a hit they do some fucking promo for Snell? Great job! Really couldn't even spend the time talking about Eloy's excellent hit tool and how he went up to get that one?
  18. god damnit. saw one good pitch to hit and took it for strike one.
