Let's talk Eloy hitting cleanup
If Ricky is around and bunting in those guys' primes we got a problem.

Let's talk Eloy hitting cleanup
Yea that was the hardest decision I had making it. If Robert can hit for a high enough avg and OBP yea put Madrigal down and Robert up.

Moncada
He's put it all together offensively. Even starting to become a bit of a threat from the right side, at least if nothing else he's not an automatic out and isn't as susceptible to a lefty reliever late innings. In June, granted super small sample size, he's at a 10.5% BB rate with a 21.1% K rate. If he sustains that the sky is the limit.

Let's talk Eloy hitting cleanup
Not going to worry about posting a lineup ROS this year as it will have holes anyways. Long term here's my ideal lineup. Madrigal (280/360/380 30/38SB) Moncada (280/350/500 10/15 SB) Vaughn (260/360/480) Eloy (300/350/550) Robert (260/310/490 20/25 SB) Anderson (290/320/500 35/40 SB) McCann (270/340/400) Tilson/FA/Madrigal (if they find someone better for leadoff) My god we could be loaded in a couple years. Astros like lineup.

Strike zone yesterday.
disciplined? The ump union will probably want to give him a raise. their response to the machado ejection was bush league. right now one of the biggest problems in MLB is the ump's union and I'm more often than not a union guy.

Strike zone yesterday.
need to go to robots. the tech is pretty much mature at this point they have a 3D zone.

Banuelos to IL; Fulmer recalled
Not sure how much faith you can put in a mid season STEAMER projection but they project 263//307/435 wRC+ 97. His preseason ZIPS was 236/312/341. I think you're right. He's ready for MLB. He's proven it the last couple months. But I doubt Chicago will call him up before next spring. Just doesn't seem like the way they are doing things now. Maybe if he signs an extension things will change.

Let's talk Eloy hitting cleanup
One problem the White Sox have is that until reinforcements arrive you've basically got three automatic outs (or singles) at any given night 7,8,9. Makes it so Moncada and Leury don't see enough chances with RISP.

The $$$$ will be spent!
I don't think anybody is sure Rendon can cover 2B long term. Furthermore I wouldn't trust the Sox' scouts to be right either way on it. It would be a risk but it might be one worth taking.

FS: Andrew Vaughn goes to White Sox at pick No. 3
Not a bad comp actually. Fletcher was a light hitting good glove infielder that was almost literally exactly a league average player in his career according to Baseball Reference. If Madrigal is an average regular that's OK. You'd hope for more but we have position player stars finding some solid regulars to fill out the roster internally would be ideal so they can spend on pitching.

GT Chicago vs Chicago, 6/19/19, 7:05 CT
Where he becomes the first "opener" to start an ASG! Wouldn't that be something.

In 2024 when Eloy is a 5 WAR player hitting 290/360/550 annually and Quintana is barely hanging around the league as a back end starter it will be obvious who got the better of the deal. Cease will have his say as well.

lord he'd dominate in the NL.

Cubs fans bending over backwards to defend that trade is hilarious. They got absolutely fleeced. Hahn traded Quintana when you could still squint and see a good #2. But that's not the pitcher he's been in Wrigley. He's been more like a innings eater than a TOR starter. The last time his K rate was so low he was walking an entire batter less per game. His stuff just isn't what it was on the South Side.

Postgame: Eloy Reigns! (White Sox winner)
we need one WAR to rule them all! That said, all I really care about is his wrc+ and not looking like a buffoon in LF on a nightly basis while threatening to hurt himself. His wRC+ is up to 114 and his ZIPS projection actually thinks he's better than that rest of the way. If he finishes with something like 270/330/500 that will be a successful rookie year.

Hawk on Wrigley
nice anecdote thanks for sharing. For someone myself or younger (34) it's hard to remember that for much of our child hood and prior the cubs were a joke franchise not some lovable loser brand.

Eloy up to .3 fWAR. Defense has been run neutral for about a month after his horrid start.

some of these calls into 670 late night have to be absolute genius level plants by chicago accented actors.

How much is this fish wrap anyways guys in Chicago? I'd give 6 quarters for it. But wouldn't wait in line would only buy if the guy let me cut line and just drop them on the counter. is that a thing in Chicago at all?

Postgame: Eloy Reigns! (White Sox winner)
this AM 670 call in post gamer for the cubs is GIVING ME LIFE MAN! lol i'm in seattle listening while folding laundry dreaming on the sox, reminds me of pulling the old am 1000 up in michigan during the summer shooting hoops in the drive way as a teen.

Postgame: Eloy Reigns! (White Sox winner)
obviously hurt, tried to bunt, struck out. just getting more and more bizarre why he's not on the fucking DL. Just rest him. FFS it's a long season and a long rebuild. If he's so hurt he can't swing it's absurd he's not on the IL let alone in the game.

GT Chicago v Chicago, 6/18/19, 7:05 CT
I'd rather a shitty pitcher that throws strikes and hopes for the best then one like Manny that just walks the yard before he decides to throw some meatballs.
