  1. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 09:46 PM) Doesnt he? I can't remember the last time I saw anyone saying go away to him.
  2. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 09:39 PM) Uh isnt his total WAR 0.1? I mean he gets 4 and a half gold stars but that isnt good enough. Adam Eaton's WAR is 0.1 also. Shouldn't he get equal hate?
  3. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 09:36 PM) Why the hell is this turd still a catcher on this team? He's one of the only replacement-level players on this team and he's responsible for the only run in the game so far.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 06:18 PM) I like when you come up with a crazy trade and people react "REALLY OMG" like it wasn't a crazy trade and you were being realistic QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 06:54 PM) Sox will not deplete the rotation like that.
  5. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 05:49 PM) On the post game show I caught the comment where the Royals are apparently interested in Shark. Mark It definitely fits their roster and needs.
  6. Mike Trout totally decided to ruin the AL team photo.
  7. Game 2 lineup: Eaton, CF Beckham, 3b Cabrera, LF Abreu, DH LaRoche, 1b Garcia, RF Flowers, C Sanchez, 2b Saladino, SS Danks, P.
  8. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 05:09 PM) This team has 4th place and top 10 pick written all over it. We're going to get past Cleveland? I guess that's still an accomplishment. Also FWIW if Cleveland keeps playing ~ this level of baseball, without a major slump, 4th place in this division is not a top 10 pick.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 04:54 PM) Give it about 2 weeks. So July 31?
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 04:50 PM) I'm realistic, its now or never and its one of the worst prepared clubs I've ever seen. From hitting to positioning to actually knowing how to play defense, they look like a team that is going through the motions. I know the players care, but they can only do so much without confidence in the staff. Um, did you just say "The players do not have confidence in the staff"?
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 04:40 PM) Who could have possibly seen that all of our bats would completely take a collective nosedive all at the same time. Not even Zips saw it that way. Didn't they have all our pitchers taking a collective nosedive with us still winding up in last place?
  12. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 04:29 PM) And the year after it's Anderson's I know he'll be there on schedule, I still have very little confidence that he's going to come up and be a contributor right away, FWIW.
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 04:25 PM) I'm still bewildered as to what the plan is with Saladino. Just going to keep him indefinitely? Are we considering a change at some position--meaning someone is released/optioned--then who? And if not, then what is the point of starting the kid every day for a week of games? I'm hoping they're going to give him a shot at SS. I can't imagine they have money to fill that position next year while also filling some of the other gaping holes on this roster and he's been a solid defensive SS in the minors. He's got a shot to be a tolerable SS for next year, let's give him that shot.
  14. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 04:23 PM) With Bonifacio, Gillaspie, Sanchez, Ramirez, Beckham, and Saladino all on the roster, Alexei better be sitting out game two. He just got 4 days of rest!
  15. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 04:24 PM) Saladino at SS. Conor and Beck platoon. I wouldn't be surprised if the Yankees or someone like that was willing to take a chance on Alexei for the rest of the year.
  16. QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 04:19 PM) I dont blame Alexei. He is aging and becoming a lesser player as most baseball players do. I lean toward blaming management for not trading him when they should have before. He gave us a lot of good years of decent baseball so I am really not angry at either side. But they better find a way to replace him by next year. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 04:21 PM) or how about finding a way to get him more rest out there? I do understand why they kept him this year, given that they were "going for it". Ergo...the problem with this season is that management made "going for it" decisions when they shouldn't have.
  17. Hawk doesn't even acknowledge what just happened. Silence and "we'll go to the 7th inning."
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 04:05 PM) Alexei really is a s***ty baseball player. I wouldnt mind seeing him in another uniform very soon. If they're working this hard to keep Saladino up...there's another SS on the roster right now.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 03:56 PM) S*** I spoke too soon on calling this a QS. My fault. Blame me. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 03:56 PM) Not a QS anymore.
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 03:56 PM) The ball is flying out of the park That ball was still hammered. Rios never looks like he hits the ball as hard as he does since his bat isn't very quick, but he hammered that. Full extension, right where he likes it.
  21. S*** I spoke too soon on calling this a QS. My fault. Blame me.
  22. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 03:52 PM) 8 pitches, that's what happens QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 03:52 PM) Come on Jeff, get your s*** together This is why I keep pointing out his K-rate being so far down from last year. He can't put people away like he did last year. Some days everything will be working and he'll dismantle a team like the Jays, but if everything isn't quite there, he winds up with at bats like the Moustakas HR and the one we just saw. 3-2 Royals on the DP. Still a quality start.
  23. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 03:46 PM) The new power hitting Eaton is intriguing. Since he started hitting those HR in late June, he's taking very few walks and his batting average is below .250, but .750-ish OPS. He's hitting like a #6 hitter lately.
