  1. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 15, 2011 -> 06:35 PM) now we need a K I won't be picky, I'll take any kind of out
  2. Good lord, the ump called that a strike? That was worse than the calls Crain got.
  3. Santos L. Halper seems to have zero control.
  4. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 15, 2011 -> 06:30 PM) Dunn does not need to be out there in a one run game in the ninth with lefties up. Teahen is hurt and Konerko is DHing. Who do you want to go to 1b?
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 15, 2011 -> 06:28 PM) Balta, you beginning to trust me about the Wuertz 3-2 slider out of the zone? Greg Maddux has said that there were a lot of times when he'd get to 2-2 on a guy and he'd purposely throw a ball in the dirt or well out of the zone to get the count to 3-2, because it's much harder to lay off of a pitch that is close with a full count than any other time.
  6. QUOTE (Wanne @ May 15, 2011 -> 06:27 PM) regardless...there has to be a deal made. Danks and Flowers to Yanks to Gardner and Montero is my wish list. The Yankees will laugh hysterically.
  7. Ok Sergio, make the A's look awful. Make them look like the White Sox against Weurtz.
  8. I'll also add that with the 2007 that the Sox had, and the fact that D1 got shut down early and Masset was part of the pen disaster, there were a lot of people complaining about the guys we got back. At least that we should have gotten something better back than just those scrubs.
  9. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 15, 2011 -> 06:23 PM) It was about time Ozzie realized this and put him back into a role where he could contribute. I wish I could say the same about Juan Pierre, where his best suited role is being designated for assignment. I don't know what you guys are seeing. If Pierre had dropped that ball, we'd all be saying "Here things go again for Matt" and they'd look just like they did when MT was pitching the 9th inning.
  10. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 15, 2011 -> 06:22 PM) I don't recall there being too much complaining about the Danks/McCarthy deal. Perhaps you're the one revising history. I complained.
  11. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 15, 2011 -> 06:18 PM) Is it any wonder Thornton has started to become the usual Matt Thornton since he was put back in his 7th/8th inning role?? I certanly haven't gotten that impression, he's been just as wild/struggled to get people out as he was in the 9th. He just has had fewer Juan Pierre drops.
  12. Oh God, Hawk said a fly ball to Pierre was a can of corn before it was caught, and suddenly I panicked. Even Hawk added the "Hopefully".
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 15, 2011 -> 06:16 PM) I thought Konerko was standing on third asking what happened? I could be wrong on that...not as sure as I was that Morel's flyout was a pop up yesterday. I certainly didn't get that impression, I saw him pull up 1/2 way and just jog into it lazily knowing he was meat.
  14. QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ May 15, 2011 -> 06:13 PM) If Paulie had stopped near second base, on the first base side, he would have had a damn good chance to either get back to first or get to third once he knew what happened with the ball. If the ball had dropped, there would have been more time where Jackson was not in control of the ball, allowing plenty of time for him to reach third. He played it wrong. Plenty of time for Paulie to reach 3rd? Maybe you're forgetting who's doing the running.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 15, 2011 -> 06:15 PM) It's not like Konerko would have scored if that ball dropped anyways. Yes, it was a fluke play, but it was strange seeing him standing at 3rd with Cox not even knowing what was going on. He knew what was going on 1/2 way between 2nd and 3rd, you could see when he pulled up.
  16. Hey, Matty put away a hitter with an 0-2 count.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ May 15, 2011 -> 06:08 PM) It does seem like it's against the law for our base coaches to communicate with the base runners. Seriously what the Hell could have been done there? Yell "Go back"? Bull, would have done nothing. That's as freaky of a play as you can get.
  18. QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ May 15, 2011 -> 06:07 PM) It is a little bit.. If Paulie would have seen that the ball was caught, he would still be on base and there'd only be 1 out, setting up perfectly for a more typical GIDP from AJ. Paulie was never going to have seen that ball be caught. If he'd stopped and waited to see that it hit the ground, he'd have gotten thrown out at 3b if it had been dropped.
  19. Do we have a reliever who can get the lead to Santos?
  20. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 15, 2011 -> 06:05 PM) Lol, bad base running again. Ahaha, this team is just BAAAAAD at everything but pitching. That one isn't on the baserunning.
  21. The anti-Juan Pierre.
  22. Keep trying.
  23. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 15, 2011 -> 05:51 PM) Crain in. Right call.
  24. Yeah, can't let Mark face Coco.
  25. The Colosseum giveth and taketh away.
