QUOTE (Knackattack @ May 16, 2011 -> 09:31 PM) Why is Pena warming up when we're only down 2 /sigh Pena was only coming in if Jackson blew it open

Well, that's 44% of the way to another no hitter

Chicago White Sox vs. Texas Rangers
QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2011 -> 09:02 PM) Is there anyone at the game? Doesn't seem like Jackson has his best stuff. It warmed up to 45 degrees when the sun came out in the first inning.

Teahen hopes to avoid DL
Hawk just said Teahen is not recovering quickly and, form what he said I can't figure out why MT isn't on the DL.

QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ May 16, 2011 -> 08:17 PM) The breaking stuff is a bit up here in the early going for Edwin. Arent you texas's hitting coach? Is that what you're telling them?

2011 AL Central Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ May 16, 2011 -> 06:31 PM) eh, it's just the time we're in, it's perfectly OK to me for people to have suspicions. Especially since it's difficult to find a comparison for someone at that age, with that much MLB experience to make such a significant jump in power, outside of the steroid era, with the main reasoning being a mechanical change. I'm certainly not saying it hasn't happened or is impossible without PEDs, but with what MLB went through, to me, it's perfectly reasonable for people to have suspicions. The sad thing is...with what we've seen from MLB over the past 2 decades...assuming that a guy is juicing should be the default position. None of us are comfortable with it and you don't want to assume that a guy is a cheater, but that's the lesson MLB has taught us.

Omar Vizquel
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ May 16, 2011 -> 06:39 PM) Also, nothing Omar Vizquel can do is going to turn this team around. Wouldn't be the first time.

K-Dubya vs. Soxtalk
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 16, 2011 -> 06:04 PM) Internationally, it's basically Tadahito, Takatsu, Alexei and Viciedo. That's it. For 10+ years. Again, comparison needed. How many teams have gotten 2 starting position players, a 1 year wonder closer, and a top prospect OF/DH bat internationally over the last 8 years, and done so without a Kaz Matsui contract level bust? If I go to the roster of some of the top teams right now, do they have more or less than that?

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 16, 2011 -> 05:49 PM) Can someone tell me what the f*** the point is of making a McCain/Palin movie? I'm just thinking of how stupid and pointless that Bush movie was. Well, I'd assume someone expects to make money off of it.

2011 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 16, 2011 -> 05:49 PM) Probably nothing this time. It's just an automatic reaction when a young pitcher under his control has an arm injury. I didn't think so considering he's been in the pen, but I figured there might have been soemthing I didn't know about.

Chicago White Sox vs. Texas Rangers
QUOTE (flavum @ May 16, 2011 -> 05:24 PM) AJ probably gets a pass more than anyone, which isn't right. AJ's slowly coming around also, he's 6 for his last 16 at least, and would have been better had Safeco not amazingly held a ball that would have left anywhere else in MLB except Petco.

Catch All Anything Thread
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ May 16, 2011 -> 05:16 PM) Impressive. For most launch trajectories I don't think you would get a great view so far across the state. It was just before sunrise, and although you couldn't make out the Shuttle, there was a rising ball of light followed by a contrail. That trail was then slowly illuminated by the rising sun.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ May 16, 2011 -> 05:07 PM) Really great view of the launch today even though I was 2 hours south of KSC. Only one I've ever seen I saw from the Panama City area.
