  1. Garcia is getting hit hard.
  2. QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 18, 2010 -> 01:28 PM) Does anyone know how many years ago it was that we last started the same lineup two games in a row? Does anyone realize the Yankees used more different lineups last year than the White Sox did?
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2010 -> 01:23 PM) Question: would you rather our team have an offensive outburst and score 6 or 7 runs to save Greg Walker's job, or would you rather the offense continue to slump this week and see a change made? Do you really think that firing Greg Walker fixes this team?
  4. Quentin got a hit! Wimpy liked the swing a lot.
  5. Giving up a HR to Damon early in the game in Comerica... Sigh.
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 18, 2010 -> 01:18 PM) They're not fun to watch at all. Grounding into a DP doesn't excite you? Come on Freddo, let's have another good game.
  7. Bases Loaded, 0 outs, Sox get 1 run. 2 hits, 2 walks, 1 run. Good work AJ!
  8. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ May 18, 2010 -> 01:14 PM) really inane question - but what is the best way of listening to the radio (or is there a way) without actually having a radio? Can I get farmio via the internet? Yes, you can at Whitesox.com or MLB.com...look for Gameday Audio...however it does cost you $15 or so for a year of access to it. You can't get the audio online anywhere for free.
  9. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 18, 2010 -> 01:11 PM) No double play. No double play. No double play Now a DP still gets the run home.
  10. Hey, Wimpy's still on the radio call today. Yay.
  11. The dude recorded a video praising abstinence. With his mistress.
  12. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 18, 2010 -> 01:03 PM) Whoops my bad. Forgot you were of the "well they did it first so it doesnt matter this time" crowd. Please point out your extensive criticism of his exaggeration of his military service to me.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2010 -> 12:58 PM) I would have to agree, as it's not likely Quentin and Beckham will match Dye/Iguchi's numbers even if they start to put things together. Am I the only one who remembers the early season slumps that left JD and Konerko hitting .200 around the end of May?
  14. Noah will probably get a good contract extension this fall, it's in his interest to get it done before the lockout. Rose will get his extension next summer. The only thing stopping the Bulls from having Rose, James, and Bosh all signed to Max deals and Noah signed to a large deal is JR's willingness to go over the luxury tax threshold. And if he thinks he's about to save a lot of money under the new CBA, and if you think that's a championship roster, he's said he'd be willing to do so for that.
  15. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 18, 2010 -> 12:50 PM) I'd just go with abysmal performance from your entire lineup minus 1 or 2 players. But you know what? that happens. Statistics say it happens, everyone knows it happens. Then you fire the hitting coach, the team then suddenly gets hot under a new hitting coach because the numbers average out, and 2 years later you're firing the new hitting coach because it started off slowly again. If you're firing Walker, you may as well clean house.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2010 -> 12:51 PM) Biggest difference between 2005 and this team is that I feel like this team has lost more games when tied or leading heading into the 7th inning than the 2005 team did all season. Having one of the greatest bullpens ever makes any manager look good and hides the offensive struggles a team might have. You mean "Biggest difference other than incredible starting pitching."
  17. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 18, 2010 -> 12:48 PM) 9th in what? Batting average? Offense. AKA runs scored.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 18, 2010 -> 12:28 PM) Did you end up going with gas or charcoal? Charcoal. Figured I should learn how to use that one first, then go ahead and splurge on the ridiculously expensive gas grill when I move to a more permanent job/home.
  19. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 18, 2010 -> 12:52 PM) I get not charging him criminally, but I cannot believe he won't be disciplined by the school. You'd have to be a complete moron to not know that was wrong, which means he made a conscious choice to do it. It's Alabama.
  20. George W. Bush
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 18, 2010 -> 12:45 PM) Can you give me a hypothetical scenario where you think firing a hitting coach is necessary? When you fire a manager and allow him to bring in his own staff.
  22. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 18, 2010 -> 11:28 AM) And the offense is much, much worse. Really? That team was 9th in the AL in offense at the end of the year, they're 11th in 2010. Carl Everett hit 3rd for most of the year. Jermaine Dye and Paul Konerko started off the season in slumps that would fit in well with this team. This current team is on pace for 192 home runs; that team hit 200.
  23. QUOTE (hawksox13 @ May 18, 2010 -> 12:37 PM) Even if Walker is gone by the end of the week, it's just change for the sake of change. Firing Walker won't do a damn bit of good. This team has to suck it up, admit they were wrong and start positioning for next season by dealing some of the players that won't be around next season anyway (Pierzynski, Putz, Garcia, Jenks, Konerko). You may not get much or anything for Garcia, but why not let Hudson come up and get some more major league experience? Hudson is just recently finding his grove in AAA. He could easily benefit from another month+ there.
  24. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 18, 2010 -> 10:06 AM) I also have a hard time seeing Lebron going to Los Angeles, where Kobe already is the big dog, and he would have to compete with him on whats been one of the 5 worst franchises in recent major sports history. If the Nets had the roster that the Clippers had and the Knicks had the roster the Lakers have, I'd totally see him going for that roster in a big city, even with the presence of another star. But it's the Clippers.
