QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 12, 2010 -> 03:06 PM) No offense, but are you being intentionally hard-headed here, Balta? No one’s arguing that Kotsay’s AB’s need to go to guy like Lillibridge; they just need to go to other people then Mark Kotsay. Preferably, to guys younger than him. WHO?????

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ May 12, 2010 -> 03:04 PM) would Minny consider moving Al Jefferson I think they would...but I doubt they'd consider moving him for Luol Deng, and we're not going to be able to offer up anything else of significant value.

Coming Into Los Angeles
There are a number of quality restaurants that can be found throughout the area. Interested in a Dodger game or an Angel game? Or you could hit up a scalper and try a Laker game.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ May 12, 2010 -> 02:48 PM) Get rid of the "clean" coal technology investment and most of that sounds pretty good. Frankly, I don't think it'll ever work...but I'm willing to spend the money on making sure, because it would be an effective solution if it would work.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2010 -> 02:58 PM) Kotsay's getting way too many at bats for someone who's hitting .136. Great...then we'll just play Jones mooooo...oh, yeah, right.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2010 -> 02:54 PM) Vizquel and Kotsay really need to get DFA'd, but I'm afraid both will stay on the roster for at least another 3 months. You really think Retherford and Lillibridge are going to give you something better?

QUOTE (jphat007 @ May 12, 2010 -> 02:51 PM) I mean, this offense is so bad. You just don't see any team in baseball with guys still hitting in the .100s at this point in the season The Braves have 3 regulars hitting .200 or below, and 3 more (including McCann and Jones) hitting .241 or below.

QUOTE (kane0730 @ May 12, 2010 -> 02:44 PM) I can't believe how much I miss DJ. The Ranger is Joe Carter bad. His call of the Rios catch was so bad it was funny. I was going by the crowd reaction. I thought the ball had gone foul.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 12, 2010 -> 02:30 PM) It sounds like it might be Hinrich though. And it is quite possible that if we got LBJ, the 2nd signing would not necessarily be a max guy. It could be Bosh taking a small discount, it could be the Bulls putting together a trade for Jefferson, etc. If Bosh and Lebron want to make a deal to play together, they can do so in NY without either having to lose money.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 12, 2010 -> 02:32 PM) Man, Juan Dog would be perfect for the Twins. The only guy in the Twins's lineup with a lower batting average than Pierre is Harris.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 12, 2010 -> 02:25 PM) No good. We better use the big boy bats to stay in this game, the way Danks is pitching. So you're saying Rios needs the Pink bat again.

Damnit! 3 runs and every RBI single has been a weak grounder.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 12, 2010 -> 02:08 PM) The key is, who the Bulls feel they should trade is going to be heavily based upon who the first target is. The only team that appears to be potentially open to a sign and trade are Phoenix & Toronto (Amare & Bosh). And I think the Bulls #1 target is LBJ so you wouldn't want to trade someone Lebron feels would be a good fit. If Lebron really wants to play with Deng...then he can sign here and then tell the ownership he doesn't want to have Deng traded. Deng is literally the only guy that really matters in that talk. Hinrich is a remote, remote possibility if the cap is high enough, but really, it's 95% got to be Deng.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 12, 2010 -> 02:08 PM) I'd rather see Nix DH even against a righty if you're arguing the fact that Ozzie had no one to go to after Jones was scratched. His career OPS against righties is lower than Kotsay's OPS against righties this year. And Kotsay's been awful against righties this year.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 12, 2010 -> 02:08 PM) They keep on hitting rollers down the middle of the infield. Somehow, I don't think Mauer and Morneau would be good candidates for the overshift.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 12, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) Damn you Kotsay, relinquish the photos of Ozzie naked that you must have, to still be getting playing time. Those photos are what hurt Andruw Jones? Wow, I figured it was an unexpected occurrence that many of us have been predicting.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 12, 2010 -> 01:52 PM) If the Bulls do a sign and trade, they will almost for sure do the sign and trade after having signed one player to a max contract. The math doesn't change. If the cap is at around $56, then the Bulls can sign a guy to a max deal and be sitting at around $49 million or so, leaving them $6-7 million or that they could take on in a sign and trade deal. If the cap is lower, then they have less free space, and they have to match a higher percentage of the contract in the sign and trade. If the cap is at $50 million, then the Bulls either have to match the full contract (i.e. they have to package Rose and Deng) or they have to sign one of the guys they currently have (i.e. Warrick) to a $5 million deal and include him in the trade.

QUOTE (BFirebird @ May 12, 2010 -> 01:47 PM) Cool, thanks. I thought there was some sort of rule like that, but I wasn't sure the specifics. Now, does that work if someone gets on via error and then 2 outs occur, then he scores on a hit? Do they assume an out when an error occurs? I could be wrong on this, but if the runner gets on base only because of an error, then it becomes an unearned run if he comes around to score, and I'm sure there's some circumstances where that doesn't hold (like if the error happens on the turn of a double-play, for example).
