  1. QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Apr 19, 2008 -> 06:22 AM) That's another factor into why I think Paxson is looking for that type of coach. And, on top of that, with a team composed of guys like Noah, Hinrich, Deng, Thabo, maybe to a lesser extent TT and Hughes (Blocks and steals), the Bulls as constructed right now are a team that should be able to play a solid, high energy defensive game and turn it in to a lot of fast break open floor opportunities. These guys should be one of the league's better defensive teams.
  2. Wow. What is missing from this graphic?
  3. QUOTE (mreye @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 06:39 PM) Oops, just saw the thread on it. I've had a couple drinks tonight. Good excuse. I be closing this one.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 06:32 PM) Yep, all offspeed pitches. Got to be really hard to get your timing down on that with limited AB's.
  5. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 06:29 PM) I guess that Anderson forgot how he was hitting in Spring Training. 1 at bat a week will do that.
  6. Damn. Those are the first earned runs given up by one of our starters in like 3 days.
  7. QUOTE (Cowch @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 05:05 PM) Any idea where we ranked the last couple of years? 2007 we were 14th. 2006 18th. 2005 25th. I would call that the "Thome" effect.
  8. QUOTE (Cowch @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 05:03 PM) 1-2-3. I love that. I also love the run production 9 runs on 7 hits. It seems like the Sox have done that a lot this year. We are 8th in baseball in walks coming in to tonight despite the fact that most teams have played 1-2 more games than us. And despite, you know, Uribe.
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 04:33 PM) Why is Ozuna at 3b? Why not Uribe if Crede's taking the day off? Ozuna's played a lot more 3rd base in the past couple years than Uribe.
  10. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 04:38 PM) Yup, might as well get BA and Alexei at bats tonight. Get Mac some innings. Wipe our hands, hit the hotel. Also...gets us a day of rest for Dotel, Jenks, Linebrink. Hopefully.
  11. QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 04:34 PM) Next inning might be a good time to start thinking about defensive subs (cough, cough, BA) Maybe for Dye. At this point though, especially with Thome and Konerko, the more at bats we can get them the better off we all are.
  12. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 04:40 PM) That's like McCain saying the Heritage foundation isnt significant and are a fringe group. Heritage wasn't originally formed to protect Mr. McCain's spouse.
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 03:48 PM) They'll get to Nienman. I have full confidence in that. Jeff has a tremendous arm, but he's going to have at least one bad inning if not more than one due to his lack of command. It would be intelligent for these next few hitters to try to take advantage of that, by, you know, working the count a bit.
  14. QUOTE (DonnyDevito @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 03:44 PM) What's his batting average? I guess I just expected more from a guy who hit .300+ last year. I know it's early and average doesn't matter as much as RBI's but I'm getting tired of veterans on the Sox hitting in the .100's. .236.
  15. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 03:31 PM) i appreciate what pablo has done for us...but as an organization from the manager to general manager to announcer, pablo gets way too much credit...and quite frankly...hes not a very good baseball player...and yes i realize he hit .328 in 06 For us, he's been about as good of a super sub utility guy as we can ask for. He's not a gold glover at any position, with the bat he's not a dominant hitter, but if he was any of those things he'd be a regular somewhere.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 03:32 PM) The stiff in right field costs the Sox a double. But it was a bargain for TB!
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 03:25 PM) Isn't Pena also in a real bad slump? Well, he's hitting .179 but he's also got 6 home runs.
  18. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 04:24 PM) no pena tonight...thats good I wonder if the D-Rays fans are as mad about that as the people here are about Crede getting a day off.
  19. QUOTE (Cowch @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 04:20 PM) With a fast lineup I think Crede should definitely be playing. If the problem continues I can only hope Joe will come in for the later innings. One off day in 15 games for a day coming off major back surgery is not the worst idea in the world. That translates to a 152 game a year pace for him.
  20. QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 04:14 PM) It is not so much that Konerko is an a slump as it is that I can not remember the last time he was actual hot. July of last year he hit 8 home runs and put up a 1.076 OPS. In June he hit 7 and put up a .957.
