  1. So, I don't understand this at all, but I'm going to point it out, because it appears to be fact. Ozzie Guillen will not take Scott Podsednik out of LF for a defensive replacement late in games. Ozzie Guillen will take Rob Mackowiak out of LF for a defensive replacement late in games.
  2. I find it difficult to imagine this being economically feasible considering the conditions, and that totally neglects the fire risk issues.
  3. Kept thinking last night about those couple games against the Indians where Mark went nearly-perfect a couple years ago. Damn nice to see him get it done. Welcome back MB. We missed ya.
  4. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 05:50 PM) Is this thome's solo-shot all the run support Buehrle gets inning? Yup.
  5. Is this thome's solo-shot all the run support Buehrle gets inning?
  6. 35 pitches through 3 for MB. 22 strikes, 13 out of the zone. I vaguely remember this guy...
  7. A true grinder saves his 1 hit in every 10 at bats for the late innings, not this early inning, RISP B.S.
  8. Well, it's better than a GIDP I guess. Come on Paulie, heat up soon...
  9. I think once Gooch stole that base, Millwood wanted no part of Thome.
  10. Supposedly, the search happened last friday, the same day Kevin Ring, an aid to Doolittle, abruptly resigned.
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 02:56 PM) My grinder will beat your grinder SSI damn, why didnt that work? Did you remember the HTML on box?
  12. Ok, now this is just getting excessive. Forget the concealed weapons debate for a moment here. Can someone please explain to me exactly why a person who is found mentally ill and potentially dangerous by a court of law, has been committed temporarily to a mental institution by his parents, and is if nothing else a potential suicide threat should be allowed to walk into a store anywhere and buy a couple of guns and a mountain of ammunition?
  13. So now that Jones has blown a save to the Royals...will the Zumaya closer talk resume?
  14. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 12:22 PM) Whaaaat? How is fishing and hunting even closely related? It's a logical as saying stop playing baseball and start boxing. Just a minor note. Carry on. The easiest way I've ever found to be successful while fishing is to go out on a boat, point the M-60 downwards, and just go to down. *Small note...make sure the M-60 is aimed outside your boat before you begin firing*
  15. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 12:04 PM) All I can think of is the episode of Homer challenging everyone to a duel.
  16. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 11:45 AM) Which might happen with the direction this team appears to be headed. If this season goes down the drain...by the middle of the year, KW better be on the phone with the 2 LA teams and offering up JD, because both of them could use a RH power bat and have the talent to give up.
  17. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 10:45 AM) The first step of just about every dictator is to disarm his populace. But...and this is the key point...just saying that dictators do it doens't mean it's a bad thing! If a dictator cuts taxes, does that mean we should raise taxes in reply? Having an armed populace simply does nothing to protect the people from the government. The government is not coming to take you away (unless you vote Democratic).
  18. F***ing lobbyists . There goes another $100 billion in wasted donations out of tax dollars to the insurance and drug industries.
  19. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 10:39 AM) An unarmed people is a powerless people. If the U.S. military were turned on the American people, they would be powerless in that sense. This would happen even if every single American were armed. But...the American people are by no means powerless. They in fact have a power as great or greater than any other power out there...the ballot box.
  20. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 10:27 AM) Unfortunately, we live in reality and not idealism. You would never have a hope of eliminating black market guns, just as you have no hope of eliminating things like drugs. The profits are just too high. Not sure what else to say, but I would just like to point out how interesting it is to compare owning a gun to addictive, illegal substances like drugs. So, you trust the government with enough atomic weapons to end civilization, you trust them with an army that could overrun any other army in the world, with equipment that could use conventional weapons to kill millions extremely rapidly, but you don't trust them to be the only ones with guns.
  21. So, turns out this person, who again was able to legally buy 2 guys and a gigantic pile of ammunition, had a couple of previous accusations of stalking and had been taken to a mental facility on request of his parents for fears he might be suicidal.
