A reporter wrote in his column that Michael Vick would have been "Better off raping a woman" instead of the dogfighting. But thinking about it, the man has a point about his comments he made. Kobe Bryant did not receive this kind of backlash from his sponsors nor the league he played in. Nike stood behind Bryant as they are not with Vick, and Lakers owner Jerry Busse did not suspend Bryant unlike Arthur Blank of the Falcons. It may be wrong to say it but the sad part is, Vick was better off harming a human than an animal. How sick and twisted our society has become that we put animals lives ahead of human lives. I for one will not jump to conclusions no matter how bad it looks at the moment. Vick is INNOCENT until after a trial where they find him guilty of these charges. As we all saw with Duke LaCrosse, the media jumps to prove a athlete guilty of wrong doing before all facts are heard. All I'm trying to say is that A: The Reporter was not out of line for his comments B: Vick should be allowed to play football this season C: His shoe deals and jerseys should be sold and D: Give him the benefit of the doubt at the moment, he's innocent til PROVEN guilty.

Chris Harris traded to Panthers

I liked Chris Harris...sorry to see him go but Adam Arch. is here, 2 stud hard-hitting safeties -
Once Again Erstad got hurt today in the game vs. the Yankees. In the top of the 6th, Erstad swung and hit a fly ball to Cabrera in center for an out. Before even running to first, he fell out of the box then jogged to first before grabbing his thighs. Hawk reported that he left the game for back spasms. I think its time to cut the man loose and move on from this once great player.

It felt so good to watch the game tonight and not have bite my nails thru the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th innings. Hopefully this becomes a repeating thing for these Sox.

This will be Mark Buehrle's first start or appearance in Chicago since his contract extension was announced. What do you think the atmosphere will be like tonight for his walk to the dugout from the bullpen and introduction on the mound be like? Anything like the Frank Thomas return, Scotty Pods making the All-Star team, the Carlton Fisk send-off, or just an regular game thing. I hope its a warm one that makes him feel happy to be back here for 4 more years.

They are def. the guys who give you the most hustle on every play. If the Sox signed both guys, I would be a total favorite of those moves cuz we would never be let down on bloop hits. Byrnes and A-Row give you 120% each play, anyone else in favor>?

Not Erstad, He was only a punter in college lol....Fields by far!!! Kicker lol, that makes me laugh lol, Kickers should only speak when spoken to. lol KICKER HAHHAHA

Recently in the news A-Rod has been reported to be asking for roughly $32 million dollars per year should he opt. out his current deal. Agent Scott Boras has also said that Alex should also get a clause of "Part Ownership After Retirement." Ichiro Suzuki is on the bubble of receiving a contract worth about $20 million dollars per year. With these out of this world type of contracts being sought after by today's players, doesn't this just further hurt the game? Stuff like this makes it impossible for small market teams like Colorado, K.C., or some of the mid-range teams like the White Sox struggle to compete. My personal feelings are that NO player is worth more than $20 million dollars a year no matter the talent. Many argue that A-Rod is the best player in baseball and maybe one of the all-time greats. But by spending that kind of money for a guy who could: A) Produce and make your moneys worth, B ) BUST and hurt your payroll for years to come, or C) Be a so so guy who makes your fans question and play the fence game with the decision. Plus, you can spend $32 mil/yr for A-Rod or you could spend $32mil/yr on multiple players like these examples 3B- Crede $10 mil./yr, SS- Uribe $5 mil./yr, 2B- Marcus Giles $4 mil./yr, and OF- Rowand $9-10 mil/yr. and thats only $29 Million Dollars. Estimating those contracts a team like the Sox can spend about $30 Million on FOUR guys instead of just one guy. Again, A-Rod and players like him are hurting the game of baseball more than they are helping it. New York and L.A. are not the only place where baseball is played, but it seems like it is the places for free agents to go. Go SOX!

Khalil Greene Leaving the West Coast for the South Side?
wilmot825 replied to wilmot825's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
I am just taking a guess from out in left field but...BUT, do they mean JUAN URIBE? I dont know I may be wrong maybe they do mean the dead guy Jose. -
I remember about a couple years ago when I was at a Sox game and the minor league report was that "Carlos Lee, brother of White Sox Outfielder Carlos Lee, was 3-4 with a HR." Do the Sox still have him in the farm, or has he bottomed out?

My honest answer would be Dye and Contreras would be the top candidates to be traded soon. But as usual I am not to quick to jump the gun because of these reasons. 1) Kenny has fooled us before 2) Those 2 guys are not the only ones leaving 3) Ozzie likes Jose too much and Jose has had his best years here 4) Javy seems to have more market value 5) Is there a better package to ship off so we receive a better product? I still am baffled that Ryan Sweeney has not been called up to the Bigs again. And heres one totally out of the donkeys ass, a return of Brian Anderson. Is it possible that the send down could have sparked something, jolted something in his baseball mind? It can't hurt to find out now before we make a run for Rowand, Hunter, or who knows

So everyone is putting in their two cents on how to fix the White Sox, and the common theme is for a trade for some big names. Although that is a solution and can help for next season it truly does not fix the problem at hand. So after the game today I was walking to the car with my dad and we had a long talk about this. My idea is as simple and about ten times less expensive than everyone elses, so here it goes. 1) Trade Dye 2) Trade Contreras 3) Trade Mackowiak 4) Sign Mark Buehrle 5) Bring Up Ryan Sweeney 6) Bring Up Either Gavin Floyd or Lance Broadway 7) This New Team Plays The Whole 2nd Half of The Season OFF-SEASON MOVES 1) Sign Rowand or Andruw Jones (Before I Had Crawford and Thanks to Pratt I See He Is not a Free Agent) 2) Address The Bullpen 3) DO NOT Fire Ozzie Yes I know it is easy to write this down on paper and say it works and sounds great. But what we know for sure is that the Starting Rotation is as solid as marble. After that, this team shakes more than fat kid who is having a cookie withdrawl. Thank you for reading my idea for these White Sox that I adore so much. The White Sox of '08 will return to glory...I Promise
