On the field during the celebration, Chuck Garfien interviewed Mark Buehrle mentioned how they played Journey. He then said "you guys had a song for '05 with 'Dont' Stop Believin', what is this years?" Buehrle then said "We have a one picked, its a bit corny but we will let everyone know shortly." What is the song

I heard Farmer go nuts when "The Missile" launched one DEEEEP into the night. I want to know if anyone has that and can post it to hear again?

After watching the White Sox the last few games without Carlos Quentin, I see everyone is picking up the power numbers that he had. No more than our rookie 2nd baseman A-Ram. He just hit his 18th home run of the season and is batting over .300 still. Longoria was on the shelf but the Rays played fabulous until late and now he is back and the team is streaky(thats what I have seen, just an opinion). Since Ramirez has raised his game to fill the void left by Quentin, will this help him go over the top as the Rookie of the Year winner?

Carlos has sat the last two games, is he just getting a break? Just curious not too worried

-Herbert Perry was the Milkman, Well Paul Konerko should be the Piano Man...cuz he runs like one is on his back. -Uribe can be "The Loaded Gun" for his cannon arm and for actually shooting someone (allegedly) -Crede is "Na na nanana BACKMAN" -The Kark I used to refer to as "Kracklevice"

I was just having fun by calling the guy Cub fan, I know it got old but it was just a little joking around. Its over

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Aug 24, 2008 -> 09:36 PM) Do I need to? Everyone knows AJ stuck his arm out to try to initiate something, anything, to turn that situation around. He knew what he was doing, and got the benefit of a missed call on it. If you can't see that from watching the replay, I really can't help you. It's amazing how blindly biased some people can be towards the Sox, it really is. Hey Cub fan, calm down. We are just excited that a call went our way and the great A.J. was behind it again.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Aug 24, 2008 -> 07:12 PM) Ump's absolutely terrible blown call hands us the game. Where's all the b****ing about umpiring conspiracies against the Sox now? Where are all you guys? Also, AJ's not really a hero, he made a terrible baserunning mistake to begin with and got the benefit of a brutal call by Eddings. Even at full speed, it was pretty obvious AJ threw his arm out trying to get some sort of contact as he was dead and not going to run anymore. Cub Fan?

You made a mistake, it was 1 out and runner on 2nd not 1st

How ironic is it that the run-down interference call was on A.J. and was called by Doug Eddings? Just gave me a flashback to '05 vs. the Angels. This guy must have been raised a Sox fan lol or just has a man crush on "Billy Idol." All jokes aside, what a smart play by A.J. to win the game for the Sox. I think the more we watch him, the more likeable he becomes. Gotta love A.J.

All-Time Worst big-name players of the Sox history

I forgot a coach/gm to manage this club of goofs! GM- Hawk Harrleson (Love the Hawk but dude, Firing LaRussa. Tell me u were drunk?) MG- Terry Bevington (Not really "high profile" but none of our managers were. This guy....this guy...) -
While at work tonight, I thought of past White Sox players who were big-names but were busts. So I made a list of my All-Time Big Name Busts. C - Sandy Alomar (Just didn't play like the Sandy in Cle) 1B- John Kruk (ugh!) 2B- Robbie Alomar (Could have been nice if he hit the ball once in awhile) SS- Royce Clayton (I can't really pick anyone for here, he fits) 3B- Chris Sabo (The goggles, and thats all anyone can remember) OF- George Bell (What a D-Bag) OF- Kenny Lofton (LOL his time here was more laughable) OF- Darin Erstad (Could never stay healthy, got hurt in the 1st inn. of Cubs/Sox after just coming off DL) DH- Jose Canseco (All Hail King 'Roid) SP R- Bartolo Colon (He won a few games, but he was supposed to Cy Young it on the South Side) SP L- David Wells (Fat Slob always had a back problem, he was just a pain in my ass) CL- Billy Koch (I loved Koch before and after, but he was bad! I think that Mike Sweeney HR is still traveling) GM- Hawk Harrleson (Love the Hawk but dude, Firing LaRussa. Tell me u were drunk?) MG- Terry Bevington (Not really "high profile" but none of our managers were. But this guy....this guy...) Thats my list, what do you think?

I have a feeling if Longoria doesnt get it, there will be an "East Coast Biasis" and Ellsbury will steal it from more deserving players.
-
After watching this guy for the last few months, I wonder why no one mentions him for Rookie of the Year. All the talk is about Evan Longoria, but now that he has a fractured wrist and will be out for maybe the rest of the way, is it time to switch the focus to Alexei. What do you think?

Comedian and White Sox fan Bernie Mac Dies at the age of 50. Sad to lose someone so funny, but also from the White Sox fan base. He did 2 things all Sox fans dream of: saw the South Siders win the World Series and Sabotaged the Cubs in 2004 with his "take me out to the ballgame" in the famous Game 6 by proclaiming the Cubs "Root root root for the CHAMPS."

Since we play the Red Sawks, we may make it in the first hour of Sportscenter and get some actual coverage. As we all know; ESPN is all devoted to Favre, Manny, and the Sawks and Yanks. Sad how 3 teams that were predicted to not even finish second are in playoff contention (White Sox, Rays, and Marlins) are hardly covered, except for Tampa.

Mark- "So Brooke Hogan...need a chew toy?"
-
Geoff Blum...he won a World Series game

Josh Hamilton Presents the 2008 Home Run Derby
wilmot825 replied to Gregory Pratt's topic in The Diamond Club
I found myself totally drawn to the Home Run Derby, but more than ever this year. Josh Hamilton just made everything negative about baseball go away. No more Madonna and A-Rod, no steroids, no Barry Bonds, and no Roger Clemens. Each time Hamilton blasted a moon-shot, I had just a bigger smile. It has been said many times before but, this fairy-tale real life story that Hamilton is leading is amazing. He is such a role model for people who have troubles in their lives and how you can overcome them. As I watched the last round and saw the crown slip away from Hamilton's hands, i thought Monreau should have done an honorable thing. Just hit 2 or 3 home runs, let the national story have its happy ending for its main character and even the little guy. If you didn't catch it, Josh said he promised his legion coach he could throw to him when he made it to the Home Run Derby someday. Well Josh made it finally and he kept his promise to a now 71 year old coach. This was an amazing thing to watch and I almost had tears in my eyes rooting for this guy. He finally got to where he was going, after a few detours and stops he made it. HAM-IL-TON!!! -
If Ozzie sticks to his guns like he said in the Tribune on Sunday about possibly rotating Konerko and Thome at DH, what would happen? Obviously it wouldn't happen since both are the highest paid guys on the roster. But, if the Oz did it for a week could it set them straight? I can't stand to watch a game and be able to predict the future, it goes like this.... Konerko up with a runner on 1st with 1 out- Ground ball to the left side, double play Thome up- Either a Strikeout or high high HIGH popout If these 2 and Swisher get hot in the 2nd half, this offense can't be stopped. Its wicked without them, just image it with them
