  1. Hey! Its cold outside and there is nothing to do, so why not think of stupid things to argue about.
  2. I just thought about this with the recent news. Which White Sox pitcher do you think could down more beers? Or even throw down the most food? Your Choices are Bobby Jenks or Bartolo Colon. DISCUSS
  3. Idk if anyone pointed this out yet, I didnt read every post but, Michael Young is a SS not a 2B so its not another 2B for the Sox.
  4. I was wondering if anyone could post the 2 soundbites from the Monday Night Miracle in Chicago. I was watching the game on tv and as I saw 2 plays I wondered how Jeff and Tom sounded. The Matt Forte game-tying touchdown and the blocked field goal were the two plays I was curious about. Does anyone by chance have them and could you post them here? BEAR DOWN, CHICAGO BEARS
  5. Didn't like how there was no "sound" for game 163. Otherwise solid video
  6. So from what I have read all over is that all the Cubs needed to do to get Jake "The Snake" Peavy was to deal away Jason Marquis and Mark DeRosa. Instead of letting go of that human-waste-no-talent-ass-clown Marquis and an actually good player in Derosa, they turn away a power arm like Peavy. I laughed when I saw on ESPN today that the deal was dead, they blew a possible steal of a trade.
  7. Since everyone becomes a GM or critic on players when trades happen, I wanted to show Kenny Williams trades since becoming GM. From this I will rate how I think they work out and maybe we can find a medium for how this current trade of Jermaine Dye for Homer Bailey may turn out. I based my answer on who got the better deal by if the prospects made it into the majors, player received posted significant stats with new team, or team was successful that season. So HERE, WE, GO! 2000: Scott Eyre for Gary Glover- Advantage Tor. (Kenny's first trade as GM) 2001: Kip Wells, Josh Fogg, and Sean Lowe for Todd Ritchie- Advantage Pit. 2002: Chris Singleton for Willie Harris- Advantage Chi. 2002: Matt Guerrier for Damaso Marte and Edwin Yan- Push 2002: Ray Durham for Jon Adkins- Advantage Oak. 2002: Keith Foulke & Mark Johnson for Billy Koch and 2ptbnl (Neal Cotts & Daylon Holt)- Advantage Oak. 2003: Antonio Osuna for Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez- See Next Trade 2003: El Duque, Rocky Biddle, and Jeff Leifer for Bartolo Colon & Jorge Nunez- Advantage Chi. 2003: Wade Parrish for Ross Gload- Advantage Chi. 2003: Edwin Almonte, Royce Ring and Andrew Salvo for Roberto Alomar- Advantage Chi. (Slightly) 2003: Frank Francisco, Josh Rupe and Anthony Webster for Carl Everett- Advantage Chi. (Slightly) 2003: Aaron Miles for Juan Uribe- Push 2004: Jeremy Reed, Miguel Olivo and Mike Morse for Freddy Garcia and Ben Davis- Advantage Chi. 2004: Estaban Loaiza for Jose Contreras & Cash- Advantage Chi. 2004: Carlos Lee for Scott Podsednik, Luis Vizcaino, and ptbnl- Advantage Chi. (2005 is the only reason, plus Lee left) 2005: Alex Escobar for Jerry Owens- TBD 2005: Aaron Rowand, Daniel Haigwood and Gio Gonzalez for Jim Thome- Advantage Phi. 2005: Orlando Hernandez, Luis Vizcaino and Chris Young for Javier Vazquez- Advantage Chi. (Only Young Contributes) 2006: Joe Borchard for Matt Thornton- Advantage Chi. 2006: Neal Cotts for David Aardsma & Carlos Vazquez- Advantage Chi. Cubs 2006: Freddy Garcia for Gavin Floyd & Gio Gonzalez- Advantage Chi. 2006: Brandon McCarthy and David Paisano for Nick Masset, John Danks and Jacob Rasner- Advantage Chi. 2007: Jon Garland for Orlando Cabrera- Push 2007: Chris Carter for Carlos Quentin- Advantage Chi. 2007: Gio Gonzalez, Fautino De Los Santos and Ryan Sweeney for Nick Swisher- Advantage Oak. 2008: Nick Masset and Danny Richar for Ken Griffey Jr.- Advantage Cin. ( Right now) Those are just the big name trades, there is obviously many more. But from this list you can see Kenny has gotten good since his first trade on 11/07/2000. Lets give it time.
  8. You see, watching Sportscenter I saw the scroll on the bottom with MLB. And it said exactly what I posted, not word for word but kind of, which caused my brain to stop working. After getting up from the floor and cleaning the spit from myself I tried to understand that. Its soo strange. Almost like a little kid saying "You go!" 'No, you go.' "Well, I'm not going until you go." 'It doesnt matter cuz I'm not going until you go.'
  9. Tex won't sign until Sabathia signs, where as Sabathia won't sign until Texiera sign, and Lowe won't sign until Sabathia signs, and Manny won't sign until Texiera signs. Kinda makes you dizzy
  10. I read all during the playoffs that Orlando Hudson was on the Sox radar. He fit their needs at 2nd and leadoff, so what the eff happend? Is he asking for too much, is that why? Im just curious to whats up.
  11. This guy's signing made as much noise as a popcorn fart
  12. I heard on the score today around 4:30 a interview with Kenny in which he said that this team now is the one going to spring training. He then said unless he gets a solid #1 or #2 pitcher Dye would be traded, otherwise Dye stays. It might just be a smoke-screen but who knows. Predicting Kenny is almost impossible. So I'm not going to try.
  13. I met Carlos and his (then fiance) wife and both were very nice and she was stunning to see in person.
  14. I was reading on Si.com in the "Truths and Rumors" that the Braves were interested in trading for Javy. And I remember reading a post of the same thing here, where someone suggested getting Yunel. But why not try to steal away Francoeur from the ATL. They sent him down last year to Triple A and as he said it, he felt "like it was a slap in the face." If Kenny is going to send Dye to the Reds, we can then get a RF with a killer arm and .300 average bat. I know people will think I'm crazy for thinking the Braves will just shell out Francoeur for Javy. But maybe we throw in a prospect or 2 and get one of the best young outfielders in baseball. Is this out of left field, yes. Is this a crazy idea, yes. Could it happen, prolly not. But why not make a try. Swisher wasn't talked about being trading by Oakland last year, but he was dealt to us for a few prospects. Its possible. Keep hope and faith alive for these wacky ideas. Possible Outfield- LF: Carlos Quentin (Solid arm) CF: Brian Anderson (Great defense and reads on balls) RF: Jeff Francoeur (Rifle of an arm)
  15. Now Roy Halladay, thats something worth wild
  16. Does this make any sense what so ever? I still am scratching my head to why Kenny is even entertaining the thought of sending the "Man-Child" elsewhere. Jenks has been the most consistent and most solid player on the White Sox since he came up in 2005. You can always count on Bobby to knock it down in the 9th and get 35 saves a season. Remember when we traded a top closer in his prime, Keith Foulke. We get Billy Koch who BOMBED, and Foulke had solid seasons with Oakland and Boston before his decline. I don't see trading Bobby Jenks making anymore sense, they should have kept Swish and tried to unload Konerko to LAA and let the Yanks get Tex.
  17. IF they trade Jenks, I boycott the 9th innings
  18. Mayb I'm a Chicago guy but, I thought Jermaine was better than Grady...I love Sizemore but Dye was better.
  19. Fukudome....I'd rather have Michael Jordan play for the Sox again. Atleast he looked semi-athletic in a batters box unlike Fukudome who corkscrews into the ground every swing.
  20. He can only play once every 3 days...No thanks
  21. Trading Paulee or Javi and pros. to SF for A-ROW and pitching pors.
  22. Maybe its "See you again" Miley Cyrus....its possible
