December 4, 200817 yr What the hell, predict what you got. You don't have to say who's going the other way, but you have to call what players are coming in... Wite and I collectively agree on the following: Erik Bedard + Adrian Beltre in one deal Edited December 4, 200817 yr by Steve9347
December 4, 200817 yr I'd like to see what people come up with as well. Heres my cryptic guess: FA signing (semi large) 3 years about 35-50 million
December 4, 200817 yr Author QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 4, 2008 -> 04:55 PM) Poreda, Brian Anderson, and Wilson Betemit for Nate McLouth. I'm drooling.
December 4, 200817 yr QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 4, 2008 -> 11:56 PM) Heres my cryptic guess: FA signing (semi large) 3 years about 35-50 million My guess on who that would be: Ben Sheets
December 4, 200817 yr Author QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 4, 2008 -> 04:57 PM) My guess on who that would be: Ben Sheets That would be a travesty.
December 4, 200817 yr 3 way deal Yankees get: Bedard Sox get: Ichiro A-Rod Mariners get: Anderson Fields
December 4, 200817 yr They finally break down and sign CC! Edited December 4, 200817 yr by EvilJester99
December 4, 200817 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 4, 2008 -> 04:57 PM) My guess on who that would be: Ben Sheets I would say plan B is a FA bat worth about 2 years 18-22 million with an option for a 3rd.
December 4, 200817 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 4, 2008 -> 05:57 PM) I'm drooling. If he plays LF, sure.
December 4, 200817 yr QUOTE (Jimmywins1 @ Dec 4, 2008 -> 04:55 PM) Derek Lowe in a 3/48 deal w/ an option. ^^^
December 4, 200817 yr QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 4, 2008 -> 10:59 PM) I would say plan B is a FA bat worth about 2 years 18-22 million with an option for a 3rd. cough Abreu cough
December 4, 200817 yr Dye to Tampa for Edwin Jackson and Desmond Jennings Abreu signed for 2 yrs, $20 mil +vesting option for 2011
December 4, 200817 yr Thome to the Rays for Crawford Thought of it on the spot haha. My guess is KW is going to try to sign one of CC, Manny, Furcal, or Teixera. But to get Tex he would have to trade either PK or Thome. So I'm saying in the end Crawford and Tex. If only.
December 4, 200817 yr One thing to keep in mind about Sheets: prior to the Sox trading for Garcia about 5 years ago, KW's main target was said to be Sheets.
December 4, 200817 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 4, 2008 -> 05:44 PM) One thing to keep in mind about Sheets: prior to the Sox trading for Garcia about 5 years ago, KW's main target was said to be Sheets. KW made the right move 5 years ago. Sheets may have a world of talent, but he is one injury after another
December 5, 200817 yr Trade for Taveras. Sign Juan Rivera for LF. Dye traded for a young MLB-ready starting pitcher.
December 5, 200817 yr I think they will sign either Lowe, Sheets or Abreu if they trade Dye. Maybe 2 of them. They have all been known to interest the Sox in the past and KW usually always gets his guy, even when its a few seasons too late. I will also shock the world and even though I really don't think it will happen say KW will trade AJP and sign a toasted Ivan Rodriquez to catch for a couple years while waiting for Flowers. Abreu and Rodriquez are Ozzie's buddies. Edited December 5, 200817 yr by Dick Allen
December 5, 200817 yr im hoping for a dye, Jenks, and prospects to the mets for Pelfry, Jesus Fernando Martinez, Daniel Murphy then the sox sign Adam Dunn and Chad Cordero Giving us.... 1. Lexi SS (why hasnt he been talked about as a lead off hitter for this team, he can be our Soriano, when he was good) 2. Daniel Murphey 2b 3. Jim Thome DH 4. TCQ RF (having him bat 4th so he can break up the big lefties) 5. Adam Dunn LF 6. PK 1b 7. AJP C 8. Fields/Betemit platoon 3b 9. Jesus CF 1. Buehrle 2. Floyd 3. Danks 4. Pelfrey 5. whoever wins the 5th starter spot in spring training
December 5, 200817 yr I just don't see the logic in swapping out Dye and essentially replacing him with Abreu. Sheets and Lowe are definitely off the list, there's no way we can give them $14-16 million per season (on a shorter deal). AJP isn't going anywhere yet.
