QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) i wouldnt say like that, i just bet twenty bucks that the sox have a better record than the cubs by all star break I've had a steady $5 bet with a friend of mine for total wins. We started doing that bet in 1989, we were in 6th grade and we've done it ever since.

QUOTE(robin_ventura_eternal @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 03:08 PM) paulie seems to be carrying his weight so far, i dont have much of a problem with him I think you mean hitting his weight...

QUOTE(HSC's Biggest Fan @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) I think a better topic is how long do we suffer through Konerko's inability to get a big hit. The guy is hitting behind three fast guys with OBP's all over .350. That means he comes up with an average of a man on every time (realtivly speaking). Take the HR's out and he is pathetic at driving in runs. RISP average for a 4th hitter needs to be above .200. Especially for a guy making $8.5M a year. I agree completely, PK is almost an automatic out with RISP. As soon as he gets 2 strikes you know that something off-speed and away is coming, and you know that he is just going to wave at it and return to the bench. Very Frustrating!

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 02:54 PM) By KW saying he's not trading Everett and the fact that he's getting on a hot streak, we will probably swing a trade for Mota, a lesser prospect, and Cabrera, I'm guessing. Yeah right, we don't have any room for Cabrera. Plus, he wouldn't fit in in our clubhouse.

QUOTE(peanut33tillman @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 01:25 PM) stats dont tell it all my friend..if u think crede is a better ballplayer than feliz ur smokin man I'm defintely not saying that Crede is a better player, but at what price will we have to pay to get this guy, who doesn't seem like a huge upgrade? Again, I don't know much about him, but his career numbers aren't that impressive. If anyone knows alot about him, please fill me in.
-
Feliz is 4 years older than Crede, has a lower fielding % at 3rd and has a lower career obp. Would this even be a smart move for the Sox? I guess I'm assuming that he would be mainly playing 3rd, maybe he will be platooning @ 1st, 3rd & OF?

Thanks. Anyone else do anything like this? I'd be curious to see what some others do.

Every year myself and a Sox buddy of mine take on 2 of my Cub fan buddies in a series of bets between the 2 teams. This is similar to what Mac, Jurko and Harry do. This year we made 10 bets and the losers have to buy 4 Bears game tix, provide food and drinks for tailgaiting and must wear the gear of the winning team to the game. Here are the bets that we agreed on... 1. Nomar's AVG Over/Under .310 2. Frank's HR's Over/Under 23 3. Most Wins 4. Cross-town Classic 5. Garland vs. Dempster (5th Starter wins) 6. PK vs. D Lee (Triple Crown) 7. Rowand vs. Patterson (Triple Crown) 8. Walker vs. Iguchi (Triple Crown) 9. Most Wins Buehrle/Garcia vs. Zambrano/Prior 10. Total Errors 3B/SS If this keeps up, my Cub fan friends will be sporting Pink Sox shirts and anything else I can come up with. :fthecubs

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 11:55 AM) Timo was the first to pinch hit in this series. This over Frank and Everett. If that doesnt prove the fluffer/nude pics/lover theory nothing will. Baines "Ozzie we need a pinch hitter. Should I get Frank or Carl up. " Ozzie "Timo, I think Timo has a bit of magic in him tonight. Plus those pants look absolutely fabulous on him." Baines" You want Timo to hit instead of Frank Thomas or Carl, I thought we wanted to get them AB's in this series" Ozzie" DONT YOU TELL ME WHO TO PUT IN THE LINEUP, I AM THE GODDAMN MANAGER, I MAKE THE f***ING LINEUP, Now Timo sweety, get your stick thing and go run a round a bit." Great...Now I need to ask my boss for a new computer, as I just spit Mt Dew all over it.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) And yes, this proves once again why Timo's roster spot should go to Gload whenever Gload is healthy enough to play 1b. It just seems so obvious who should be the odd man out, once Gload is back there will no longer be a need for Timo's gold glove at 1st, RF, LF or CF. If he is still around and they pick Willie or someone else to go down, then I will be convinced that Timo has nude pictures of KW and Ozzie.

If we win today, I predict Timo gets the ball in game 3.

QUOTE(AirScott @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 01:20 AM) he closed out the series vs. the Yankees. they skipped him in the rotation because of his struggles against them. then he came in from the pen and struck out Clue Haywood on 3 fastballs. "Forget about the curveball Ricky, give 'em the heater!" (Lou Brown, skipper for the Indians.)

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 03:44 PM) Twins won. 3 1/2 game lead. I hate that team so much. At least they worked out the Tribes bullpen for us...

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) THE GAMES f***ING OVER. God Damnit I hate the Twins...
-
QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 03:14 PM) Nevermind, they just changed it to a fielders choice and the Indians scored a run. Did the Indians score? MLB doesn't show that? Still 3-3 in bot 12.

6-2 Twins. I guess Ozzie forgot that series wins don't count in the standings. -

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 09:06 PM) Does KW make a move for a reliever any time soon? What does everyone think? I think that he has to. Shingo is s***, Walker is s***, Viz is s***, Cotts is mostly s***. That makes for a pretty s***ty pen. -

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 09:02 PM) They said it was the back, couldn't get loose. Seems like it might be a season long type injury. That was a mistake, it was Herm the trainor talking about Frank. -

I can't believe that we are only down 2 after the way these last couple of innings have gone. Don't give up hope yet, Shingo is loosening up. -
