  1. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 08:32 PM) Ozzie cost us 6 runs tonight. Starting Timo at 1st base and letting Kevin Walker start an inning and letting Vizcaino finish it. At least 4 for sure...Timo at 1st and the decision not to walk Molina with 1st base open.
  2. Any reason why they didn't walk Molina to get to Kotchman and set up the DP???
  3. Sorry to add insult to injury, but Torii Hunter just hit grand slam. 4-2 Twins.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 08:03 PM) I'm just speechless right now. Why is our manager so f***ing bad? I think that Ozzie feels bad about sweeping a team so he has to let them get at least one win in the series.
  5. I would love to get Chavez in here as bad as anybody, but I just can't get the name Jason Giambi out of my head. The "juice" seems to flow like wine over there and until he turns it around Chavez may turn out to be the next lame duck. With his contract, the Sox just can't afford to take that risk. That being said, if he does show signs of life in the batter's box, he would look pretty sweet in the middle of our lineup.
  6. Just to give everyone an idea as to how hard it hit him, the ball was caught on a line drive in foul territory by Ramirez for the out.
  7. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 27, 2005 -> 10:53 AM) ...don't forget Gooch. Maybe KW didn't clean house enough. Next year's opening day lineup: LF Podsednik 2B Iguchi RF Ichiro 1B D Lee CF Crawford C Olivo 3B Figgins DH Pierre SS Furcal Speed and Defense!!!
  8. I hope that Ozzie gives him a bit more rope this time, no quick hooks. We've got almost 13 1/2 feet of pitchers on the hill tonight. Lets get another series win!
  9. Rowand .262 Konerko .237 Everett .232 Dye .212 Crede .234 Uribe .237 Thank God we can pitch...
  10. These jackasses are giving Oak Forest a bad name! I gotta get out of this town, it is full of ruffians.
  11. Does anyone else think that Carl has looked much better from the right side of the plate this year? It seems like when he is hitting lefty he is trying to jack one every pitch, and when he is hitting righty he just tries to take what the pitcher gives him.
  12. I just went out to the Cubs site and picked up tickets for Sunday's game. Sec. 219, row 12. I'm sure they are going quick, so if anyone wants tickets you better hurry.
  13. I actually wouldn't mind Cliff getting some work.
  14. I don't care if this is a save situation or not, I want to see Hermanson in the 9th.
  15. Is Freddy using his fastball more, or is he still relying on his breaking stuff?
  16. That a great article...I LUUUUUUV PODSEDNIK. If he can get on base, he should steal at least 4 off Maddux.
  17. Damn!!!! I am too late! I just got out of a meeting that started at 1pm. Thanks for the heads-up, I wish that I could have seen it sooner. I would have loved to go with my wife (Cubs fan), and showed her what a real team looks like.
  18. According to Brooks, everyone is welcome, except anyone wearing a Twins jersey. He also said to keep an eye out for the new TV ads coming up, also something about a go-cart promotion? Nothing to exciting during this interview.
  19. Carmen and Silvy are debating whether or nor it is ok for Cub fans to go to the Cell, and for Sox fans to go to Wrigley. Not for the Crosstown Classic, but for just everyday games. Carmen doesn't want any Cub fans at the Cell, ever. Brooks is calling in to discuss this...
  20. I guess the question we have to ask ourselves is, whether or not Carl's offense is more important than Dye's defense? Right now I would say yes. Carl has been better than expected, and Dye has been worse than expected. I say roll the dice and give CRAZY a chance.
  21. I think that he will be back for the June 3rd series vs. CLE. That would give him about 15 games with Charlotte, ending on June 1st. Sox are off on June 2nd, could be his "travel day", and in the lineup vs. CLE.
  22. I just caught the end of this on ESPN 1000, anybody know any more info???
  23. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 9, 2005 -> 04:02 PM) I would bench Rowand, start Frank at DH permanently, Kong at 1B, Pods at CF, Everett at LF and Dye in RF So you are ready to give up on Rowand already this year? He is swinging the bat much better these last couple of series, plus he is terrific in CF. Leave the OF alone, let Carl get a few games a week whether in the OF or DH.
  24. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 9, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) Frank needs to be in the lineup for his OBP and letting other players get some pitches. You can have a rotation of Carl, Dye, whoever in the OF if need be I totally agree, Frank needs to be in the lineup as often as possible. Now that Dye is starting to hit, Carl will need to fill the utility OF role, as well as give Frank a day off from time to time.
