Well, you're a lot closer to death than I am, so I guess I have more patience than you do. But in all seriousness, if you feel that this team is talented enough to be in 1st, why is it so inconceivable to you that we make up this difference in the standings? We've played a lot better lately, but we still haven't come close to playing as good as we're capable of. All of us haven't given up like you have.

Obviously calling him a "god" is an extreme exaggeration and overstatement. It's like saying "I'm so hungry I could eat a horse". Obviously, all that means is that they are very hungry. Calling Bartolo a "god" is just like saying he's awesome -- and anyone who can blow Bonds, a guy with the fastest bat in the game, away 3 times in 1 game is indeed awesome.

He won't be a free agent until 2006 I think. So a team can offer him all they want, but he can't do a thing about it.

Bonds is perhaps...perhaps...the best player of all-time. He's still probably the best in the game. He RARELY strikes out swinging. In 1 game, Colon has struck him out swinging 3 times. If you don't think that's an accomplishment, there is something wrong.

What are you talking about? So the Sox aren't scoring for him...how does that make HIS ERA go up? That makes no sense. His JOB is to keep the other team from scoring. If what the Sox are doing on offense is affecting his ability to do that, he needs to go back to the minors. Maybe that will help him remember what he's paid to do.

LOL. He was spectacular last weekend in LA, and he's doing great today as well. It's not everyday that Bonds strikes out swinging twice in the same game. And he's still got 2 more AB's to go. Colon's only thrown 50 pitches through 5 innings, so a CG is definitely possible.

That's news to me If you put the Sox in the "not competitive" category, then you'd have at least 10-12 teams in that group. We don't need to get rid of that many teams...just 2, 3, or maybe 4.
